Just WOW. A must-see for anyone living in or traveling through the Central Valley. A refreshing feast for the senses and a break from our too-fast-paced, high-tech world. This treasure of a museum is powerpacked with photos, furniture, maps, textiles, posters/signs, a lovingly restored caboose from the rail line that ran to Raymond till the 1940s, and oodles of other rich items from early California history -- including a show-stopping upright piano with gorgeous wood grain, the likes I've never seen before. Well worth a stop, especially with Lynn the curator and Andy the docent as friendly and personable hosts, making our visit quite the rich experience. Felt like I was back in the early 1900s.
Lynn is a lively host and outstanding curator whose knowledge of the area is extensive and FASCINATING. read more
