Sadly, my dear mother passed away. She was from Sylva and Ray's was her favorite florist around.. so that's where we ordered her casket blanket from. It was so beautiful. My mother in law recently passed. One of the family members ordered the casket spray and flowers from Ray's. My sister in law and I went into Ray's to order flowers from our children for their Granny. The owner took over our care from the cashier and he was so friendly. He was so helpful and understanding. He gladly assisted us in deciding on a beautiful live floral arrangement that matched perfectly. He also made a HUGE pink bow to place on her church pew in honor/memory of our loved one on her. Both my children chose to have destination weddings in the Western Carolina Mountains. My son married first and we used Rays as their florist. When the flowers arrived we were just blown away! Every arrangement that Ray created, from the colors, the shape, the sizes and how they arranged the flowers at the venue was awesome. Fast forward 2.5 years and we again used Ray's for my daughters wedding. Ray did not disapoint! I must have made no less than 5 calls to his business to confirm dates/flower choices etc and they were always so pleasant and accomodating. I would highly recommend Rays and his team of florists. My only regret is that the flowers won't last longer than fresh flowers do because the arrangements are just so beatiful. Also- I wished that they lived close to Charlotte because I would use them for every flower need! We had used Ray's regularly as our florist for years but at one point they moved locations and I thought they had gone out of business. Recently found out that I was wrong! Found the website and bought my mother a bouquet for her birthday--she was over the moon! She's very particular about flower arrangements as she is herself a wonderful gardener. I had called to ask for specific colors for her--and I don't know what the other reviews are talking about because the customer service was absolutely great. The flowers were delivered to my mother's house as promised and she texted me immediately to say that she had never in her life (85 years) received a more beautiful flower arrangement. And that wasn't all--she loved how the flowers filled her house with their scent. So VERY glad to know that Ray's is there--I'll be using them again and again. read more

My mom and I ordered an arrangement for my parents 50th Wedding anniversary party in person a few days before the event. When we showed up the day of the party, the staff could not find the order, had not made the arrangement and wanted us to just wait while they whipped something up! Unfortunately, we did not have time to do this, since the party was happening soon. This was very disappointing and I will never order flowers from here again. I recommend ordering elsewhere if you have an important event because Ray and his team should not be trusted to create your flowers on time or even remember your order! read more

I live in Wisconsin Dells WI, SO had NO clue whom I should have send flowers to my VERY Ill daughter. The unsatisfactory reviews I saw for Ray's DIDN'T encourage me! However, I was treated with respect when I mentioned I couldn't afford a lot. The man who took my order was VERY nice! He promised next day delivery to Cullowhee. The flowers were received by my daughter. She said they are (delivered today, 3/22/19) VERY beautiful and that I must've paid a LOT of money for them which I didn't really. I've used this flower shop so many times and I've ignored the random rudeness and over priced arrangements, but I was standing waiting for a single flower and over heard them rudely talking about my grandmothers memorial and how they don't have time to deliver flowers to the place we are having her memorial. She was a person, she was loved by so many. The least they can do is have some respect and have extra staff to deliver flowers to events like funerals/memorials etc. we need a new flower shop, I will not be returning here. read more

Ordered flowers for my mother's bday, 2 days prior to her bday, gave address in culowhee, was told the could and would deliver and received a call the afternoon of her bday telling me it was too far and they won't deliver. So rude!! Arrived 20mins before closing to buy flowers for my mother in law, who lives locally and just had major surgery. After initially saying yes, who I can only assume was the owner came over and said unless I bought silk, they couldn't help as the were closing. Apparently 20mins isn't enough to help a customer. Wow. This florist is just horrible. My son in law ordered long stem red roses for his wife's birthday. They sent a confirmation, voided the order, did not let us know and did not even apologize when called. Any decent florist would have made good on this but they did not even attempt. Ordered flowers on Monday for my daughter to be delivered at Western Carolina. Gave them her class schedule when ordering so they would not call during her classes. They did anyway. Took 2 days to get them delivered (was done today) because they didn't listen on the times I told them to call and then when my daughter did get them, the card had her name spelled wrong. I called them and told them what happened. They offered to "deliver her another card." Explained that the damage had already been done (that's the first thing my daughter said was Momma, they're pretty but they spelled my name wrong!) A person's name is one of the most important things to a person and no one wants to be called by a wrong name or have it spelled wrong--especially on something that was to have sentimental value in the future (she had just gotten accepted into something that she wanted desperately!) The woman at the floral shop said that "we're human and just made a mistake." Fine. I get that mistakes happen but in a customer service based industry, you do SOMETHING to make it right! These flowers cost me nearly $45 (for a mug of daisies with a couple yellow roses) so definitely not cheap to begin with. I didn't want a full credit...she got the flowers. However, even a 10% offering would have been nice because THEY messed up. It was right at the "top of the ticket" per the rep but when it was typed into the card system, a letter got dropped off. PROOFREAD!!! Then she had the audacity to say "well, we just have too many orders due to Valentine's Day and we're working overtime just to keep up!" REALLY??? Oh my goodness!!!! Hire new people then!! That is completely NOT an acceptable reason especially when Valentine's Day is still 10 days away (nor is that acceptable even if the order was the day before Valentine's Day!!) That was a cop out! Looks like Sylva, NC ought to be the place to open a floral shop if that's how Ray's Flowers treats their customers! My daughter has at least 3.5 years left in the area...I order flowers frequently...I will be ordering them another way from now on. They lost what would have been a great customer for less than $5! read more

Recently ordered funeral spray from this florist. Price quoted was different when charge showed up on my credit card. Flowers were beautiful, but I was not happy with not being told that an additional charge to deliver to 12 mile location would be added. Called manager; agreed to reverse charge but was told "In the future.....etc" Needless to say this comes off as the customer being in the wrong. He lost my repeat business due to failure to disclose a 7.00 charge. read more
