I love this barber shop! I've been going here to get my beard trimmed and hair cut for 3 years. I haven't gone anywhere else because they are that good. The attention to detail is what makes this shop stand out. I never ask for a specific barber because they are ALL excellent. Sometimes I get a new barber that is "training" but the outcome is always the same: an excellent haircut. Why? Because the owner and senior barbers are absolutely meticulous in quality control. They train their barbers to the highest degree and have a very watchful eye over new trainees to ensure absolute quality. I was looking for a place that could not only shave my head but also my face. I understand why he couldn't shave my head with a straight razor, but they didn't show my face with a straight razor either. Until the very end, they put hot shaving cream on the back of my neck and used a straight razor just to trim up the back of my neck. I asked why did they not you that message on my face, and I was told that the electric razor gets closer. I was looking for a close shave with a straight razor so the name of the business and even in their logo has a straight razor so that's why I went there. I guess the art of getting lathered up and having someone use a straight razor on your face is gone. read more

Would be a better review... However, during my first ever visit here, I was appointed a barber named Cliff. The haircut took a while and not till towards the end did I realize that this gentleman was training. He asked Gavin to come check his work. First off no disrespect to Cliff, I completely understand that everyone has to start somewhere. My biggest issue with my one visit here was that I was not aware of the situation. I as the person in the chair should have a right to know that an apprentice is going to cut my hair, on top of that full price. I managed to luck out today by stumbling on to this place, thank you help. So I showed up and managed to sit right down on the barber chair to get my ears lowered by Vince, their apprentice. Do not let the title apprentice fool you because he did a great job. In fact this is one of the best haircuts that I have ever had. This is coming from someone who has the cure of the cowlick. It was a great atmosphere and everyone was very friendly while I was getting my hair cut. The cut cost around $18 which is a great price for the service especially with the quality of the cut. After the cut I decided to get a full facial shave from Josh. It was a traditional old school straight razor shave complete with all of the preps, hot towels, and after shaves. I've been here quite a few times. Gavin and Terrell are both great and would easily give them 5 stars if it weren't for my last time here. I sat in the chair of a barber I hadn't seen before (young guy, blonde hair, don't remember his name) and before long it became very obvious he was still training. Halfway through he had to have Gavin come inspect to make sure it was looking alright. My cut - just a fade and trim - ended up taking an hour and a half and is easily the worst cut I've ever gotten there. And I still had to pay full price. I get that the only way to practice is just doing it, but if someone is still training, I feel that we shouldn't have to pay full price, and we DEFINITELY should be told beforehand. After all, we have to live with the mistakes. read more

Being a Skipper grad of mandeville from 91 I knew this was the only place in town for tight haircut. To my surprise upon arrival the place was split apart now. One appointment only and one walk ins only. Good thing I walked in to see Brody at the Razors Edge. The best cut and I repeat this again , the best cut I have ever had .
