My first visit here nearly 3 years ago was the best decision I made regarding my health. Dr. Andrews is very thorough and clearly explains everything. I receive a written report of our discussion and any plans going forward so I don't leave feeling like I need a medical dictionary. Brittany is amazing also. She is always friendly and can get my blood draw done with one stick. I love having a doctor who can address all my concerns and doesn't have me waiting for hours for a 15 minute check over. I always feel like my concerns are addressed and I'm confident in what we are doing as a team. I was initially referred to Dr. Karam at Nephrology Associates after meeting him during a hospital stay after going into kidney failure due to kidney stone complications and was very unhappy with him. Dr. Karam made me feel like a number and rushed me out of my initial appointment instead of taking the time to sit an explain my situation or discuss any type of treatment plan. My initial visit with Dr. Herron was a completely different experience and I was extremely happy with the entire process. It was easy to schedule an appointment, her staff was friendly, I was seen quickly, and Dr. Herron made me feel like she actually cared about me. She took the time to answer all my questions, explained my situation so I was able to fully understand everything, and started me on a treatment plan to maintain my kidney function. I arrived early about 30 mins, I know that's really early but I was around the corner and live 20…read moremins away. My appointment was at 3:30pm. I walked up to the reception desk ready to go ,with everything in hand. She hands me a tablet to fill out some stuff. I sat down and recieved an error when I entered my bday. I tell her its saying I do not have an appointment today. She ask me my name and D.O.B. and tells me when I made the appointment, the person I spoke with enter my year wrong. We laughed at it no big deal. So she hands me actual paperwork to fill out. I go back and fill it out. I'm sitting there and start to notice people that got there after me are being seen and I'm still sitting there. An hour and a half goes by and nothing. I use to be an MA so I get it people get it, they busy sometimes. I decided to walk up to reception to see what's the hold up. I speak with a different lady and explain that I had an appt at 3:30 and still havent been seen, it's not 4:35. Rep. 2 response to me, " Oh we're really busy, all the Dr.'s are here and the rooms are booked. Let me see what's going on." She comes back and tells me, Rep 1 never checked me in and she can get me checked in now but she doesnt know when I can be seen. !!!!!!! WTF! I've been here for 1.5 HOURS and you're telling me that not only am I just sitting there wasting my time but I'll probably have to wait longer to be seen because YOUR person messed up?!?! Its not like they're short staff. You just told me all the Dr.s are there! Fuck that. I told her to cancel my appointment and left. I did ask her I dont want to get hit with a cancellation charge, she said I wont but we'll see. Screw this place. If I got there late j get putting me in the back of the line but when YOU mess up, you should do everything in your power to fix it. Should have been the next person to be seen.. not this "well I dont know when you'll be seen" bulls***.
