In December 2024, however, I had an appointment with a Relationship Banker at the Center whose assistance was truly exceptional. All I wanted the banker to do was confirm the status of a wire transfer that I had attempted several days prior to the appointment. But instead of simply answering my question, the banker made an enormous effort to clarify what had gone wrong, and to make another attempt to wire the funds. She did succeed in making the wire transfer, and the money arrived in Europe the following day. Normally, it takes two to three days to complete an international wire transfer. I am extremely grateful to this BofA employee. She is a recent addition to the New Braunfels Center's team; I hope she remains there for a long time to come.

They do not have a monthly checking account fee based on daily minimum balance like some other banks do. Recently my son bought his first car and we told him check out RBFCU for loan interest rates. He was approved and has been able to have a more affordable payment . I like the Creekside location as it is not crowded like the other 2 New Braunfels locations. Recently to use the ATM you need to have a debit card which I have never carried. But times change for convenience sake.

After sitting alone and on hold in an office for 11 minutes, I asked for help and the teller then informed me the phone wait was now 35 min; I left. Next day I went to the larger I-35 branch, expecting a human there might be able to give approval for my withdrawal. They told me I had to talk to Fraud (remote, not local), and the wait was now 80 minutes. I went home and phoned the Fraud Department and after three hours of hold, disconnect and interviews they finally approved my withdrawal, flagging my account appropriately. I'm going back tomorrow, to try to complete the transaction, but not optimistic. Perhaps I should be using a bank instead of a credit union. This level of customer service is not acceptable. At the branches, I never spoke to anyone above the level of teller. No one cared or tried to solve my problem- just passing the buck to Fraud, and blaming "the system".
