We've called to make an appointment and never been called back- now the number seems to be disconnected. It's a shame, because this seems like a place I'd like to get my hair cut. There are copies of magazines like Inc., Fast Company, and Entrepreneur in the rack. There are cool shaving supplies and medium-high grade product on the shelf. The card says he's a "Master Barber". It seems like a such a cool, authentic location. I hope it's not really gone.

I don't think I've ever made an appointment. Afternoons and Thur-Fri are busier. Most wait times are 10 to 15 minutes if I don't get right in. Afternoons are busier with usually 2-3 waiting in line. I suppose the longest I've waited is about 40 minutes. $15 for a cut.

I called a few other shops, and all of them said I could stop in to discuss my ideas. No problem! My idea was basic, and literally any decent artist could do it. However, most of them treated me like I was a nuisance. Whatever. It's not like I was a paying customer or anything. Finally, someone treated me with respect. The lady helped me by giving me Athena's email address to send her my ideas, so I payed my deposit and was on my way. The time came for my appointment. Since I hadn't met with Athena, I was instructed to come in a little early so she could consult with me and draw up my idea. She started by drawing my quill right onto my arm so I could see the placement. She then drew a quill in three different sizes so we could pick the perfect size. Athena was great about giving me her honest opinion, but still let me make the final decision. We finally agreed on the size, and she began. This definitely wasn't my first tattoo, but I apparently don't handle the wrist very well. I am embarrassed to admit this, but I got extremely light headed. Yep, that's right. I almost fainted. Pause for humiliating laughter. Athena repositioned me and was really great about the whole embarrassing situation. 5 hours later, and I was finished. I seriously cried when I saw it. I'm definitely scheduling an appointment with Athena next time I'm in Fargo. The prices are fair and everyone is really friendly. Between the phone call and walking in I think I answered like 3 questions total, and the needle was in my nose within the first 2 minutes. He talked the whole time and moved so fast I didn't even realize he was done until a couple minutes later when he said, "you can get up now" lmao. My husband got one too and that was just as quick. When I tell you that we were there for a total of ten minutes, I mean that we got out of the car at 6:25 and it was 6:35 when we sat back down to leave. Dude was a character, but we like that.
