Extremely upset after the interaction I experienced with Sue at RDP Sports. As RDP is the contracted vendor for our school, we have interacted with Sue for many years. We have never had an overly negative experience, until today. I'm extremely disappointed and truly offended by the way I was spoken to over the phone. It was one of the most rude customer service experiences I've ever had. We missed the deadline to order a class homecoming shirt by a day, so I called first thing when RDP opened. Before any further conversation could be had, Sue angrily cut me off and went on a rampage about how there are no exceptions, no excuses, there is advertising all over the school, all over facebook, and that my son is old enough to be ordering his own shirt, since he's a senior.
To be scolded, talked to in a derogatory manner, and for assumptions to be made that I, or my child, pass signage in or around school or use social media to find a link to order is extremely upsetting. I have never ordered a homecoming shirt before and thought that there was a special link through the school website for that. Most importantly and most offensively, how does she know that my child isn't special needs or even has the capability to order his own shirt? That was the most insulting comment, that per her standards and opinion, my senior should be completing his own orders. She has no idea what our social situation is or what our personal life is like.
A simple, empathetic 'I'm sorry but the deadline has passed & I cannot make exceptions' would have been perfect and much more appreciated. The lack of listening, empathy, and just plain respectful communication that customer service should be has left me more than upset. If Sue is overworked & stressed, I would recommend RDP delegate another staff member to speak to customers because her attitude and "customer service" is extremely poor and honestly, offensive. read more
