We reached out to him back in March 2022 when I was stationed in NM. The timing of our move back to FL and our hesitation as our first-time buyers led us to rent an apartment once we got back in October 2022. But shortly after we signed the lease we found out my wife was pregnant and we quickly realized we didn't want to be in an apartment with a baby on the way. So we started looking seriously and Nick went from 0 to 100 right along with us. Trevor was at most of our showings, but Trevor is equally awesome! We probably looked at ~15 houses, maybe double that if you count all the random open houses we went to every weekend and texted him about. We'd love a house, not care for it the next day. Think we could handle a fixer upper, realize we definitely couldn't. Fall in love with something way over our budget and take a break from looking all together. Despite how many times we went hot and cold because of the market, Nick was always super patient with us, and we NEVER felt pressured about anything. When we finally found "the one" the process was so smooth it almost seemed too easy. Like they really gave us the keys to a house?! Haha that's nuts. But it's just proof that his 100% drama free mantra is absolutely true. As a South Florida native too, something else I really appreciated about Nick was how evident it was that he has roots and connections here. I believe that Icon Realty was involved in hacking my bank account. I leased an apartment in the heart of las olas/Fort Lauderdale from December 2016, from Atlantic loft llc. I agreed to pay a 2 month security deposit of $2400 as well as first, last and security (pretty standard) got my key, etcétera. After 2 different companies handling our property, ICON Realty came in January 2020 and revamped property by implementing a ***online payment service ***** aka , a way to get into your bank account. I questioned who this is and why I had to use this system to pay, not only to be replied with "It is our new system and you have to use it, you must pay rent this way or consult your attorney" As I went ahead and used it but decided to not renew my upcoming ending lease of 3/30/20. I emailed, texted and explain that I would not be renewing the lease because not only I don't trust the payment system, I had a very difficult time communicating with Benjamin (who by the way runs the whole thing). He ignored all my calls and the ones he replied, he did very rudely. I promptly moved out on schedule and handed him the keys along with my original lease agreement. He took the keys and said that He did not have a refund and I would need to wait 30 days to receive one on the mail. Now 30 days later. My bank account has been HACKED and bank investigated the multiple charges leading back to that January rent payment. I have been getting random withdrawals from different wiring entities totaling over 1k so far. Due to covid19, I can not yet file a claim in court. And the reason I am writing this is to WARN tenants and landlords about companies like this! I am attaching the refund check I just received. What a joke! See you in court.
