Have you ever met a dog that generally doesn't LOVE people, but absolutely loves his vet and vet tech. Yeah, I hadn't either until I witnessed it. My dog is a former outside dog, who was abandoned, and due to past abuse is very weary of new people (it took me a solid year and a lot of cheese to get him to move into my house). However, he quickly warmed up to Dr. Keener and vet tech Angela. The first visit my dog ran and tried to hide in my bedroom, now he greets Dr. Kenner and Angela at the door - although sometimes more loudly than he should be greeting guest. When I first found Readivet I was in a predicament, I now had a large dog, that hates cars, I drive a 2 seater, he is easily overwhelmed by new people, and he was discovered to be heart worm positive. I was panicked trying to find a solution to get him treatment. I finally found Readivet which offered a mobile solution for regular vet services, but heart worm treatment is specialized. I explained my situation and was told we would come up with a game plan. The first visit Dr. Keener was unavailable but Angela and a man who name I don't recall came by and we discussed heartworm treatment, risks, and options. Later Dr. Keener called me to fully explain the process, answer any questions (which I had a lot), and to come up with a game plan for his treatment. They adapted to what would be best for him, and due to him being a very easy dog to work on and due to his anxiety of riding in cars and strangers they were able to provide all of his heart worm treatment services at my home (with a large enough van incase he needed to be transported). Despite my dog associating his vet team with being poked be needles (some directly into his heart) and the people that bring the scale (his least favorite thing for unknown reasons), he absolutely loves Dr. Keener and Angela. He warmed up to them faster than anyone else he has met. They are so kinda and radiate such a calming presence that he not only tolerates his vet appointments but seems excited when they arrive. I cannot promise the same results for all other animals, because I feel like this is a very unique reaction, but I can promise that your pet will be well taken care of, that you'll feel informed about all medical decision and needs for your pet, you'll be treated with kindness and respect, and that you'll love the convince of not having bring your pet into a shared space with lots of nervous energy causing more anxiety. I'd like to start this off by saying that I am chronically overextending myself to a point of total self-destruction. In this particular situation it wasn't entirely my fault - I impulsively re-homed a dog owned by a client of mine without any real heads up about this dog being 8 years old and not having her vaccinations or even having been to a vet before. And it's January, and I work in mental health, so everyone and their literal mothers' are reaching out for help right now... I don't blame my own challenges for needing to find a vet who could see an 8 year old dog who's background includes not ever being seen by a vet before, at a time where vets are actually so overwhelmed that getting into one takes months. And I don't blame myself for the fact that when the aforementioned dog had blood in her urine, I needed help and I needed it fast and for it to happen without judgement. I googled. I found this unicorn of a solution to a huge list of problems in need of addressing thoughtfully, and so I signed up for an appt online despite feeling like there was no way it was going to be real because things like this don't just happen - you don't need a vet on the fly and then poof it appears... not in adulthood. And yet I signed up out of sheer desperation due to the growing length of my "to-address" list, and the fact that this involved a sweet 8 year old dog who just loves and might be in pain or sick, making the stakes inherently higher, thus making me decide to hit the "why not?" button and book an appointment. 48 hrs later Dr Keener and her tech were in my living room just performing a magical dance of medical teamwork, keeping both me and my dog calm. They had no shred of judgement, nor did they seem to be "over it", nor did I get an ounce of behavior indicating they might be understandably exhausted from giving medical care to animals in a mobile fashion during the chaos that is 2023. They were so kind, and thorough, and thoughtful. They were prepared, and knowledgeable, and addressed all of my questions and concerns in a professionally kind manner. They even texted me to remind me to get the stool sample once Lucy poops! I cannot say enough amazing things about this magical unicorn of a mobile veterinary practice. I want my sweet tiny traumatized rescue cat to be kept comfortable after this horrific ordeal, I want an apology and full refund. I expect it immediately, esp after she was dropped during post op exam today 4 excessive bruising, swelling, lethargy, not eliminating nor drinking. I have documentation of prior rushed and aggressive handling of my her and other pets. My sweet Raymond tore his toenail off while playing fetch. I rushed him to the ER vet and no one could get to him. I was desperate and exhausted, so I looked online to see if I could get a vet to quickly look at him. RediVet was able to come to my house the next morning with everything my boy needed! He got his check up, weight, cleaning solution for his paw, and three different medications. All of this was provided on spot (their RediVet van is literally a vet clinic on wheels).
