We hired for a remodel job and while it got done, the main complaint is mediocre workmanship . The flooring was not laid well . The painting was not to a professional level, the drywall finish is not even. The refinishing of the wood floors was done with a single layer of stain without a proper second coat and sealer. After only a few months it is showing serious wear. I would never recommend them. The owner never even came to see the finished job. I recently had them remodel my basement bathroom and have lots of great things to say all around- Speed: When I initially texted them about wanting my bathroom redone, they texted me back within 5 minutes with pictures they found on Redfin of the bathroom that would be replaced! Talk about speed! But in addition, they were by far the fastest in providing an initial quote, coming up with a quick mood board and working out a final price/schedule for the actual construction. They were actually able to start demo before I received quotes back from some of my other contractors. Communications/Scheduling: Also great...responsive on both text and e-mail. I was out of town the first few days of the project and they kept me updated with pictures/video. In terms of sticking to their schedule, they estimated 2 weeks from demo to finish and they finished in exactly 2 weeks. Cost/Quality: They were around the median of quotes I received (I reached out to 6 different contractors)....for the price I paid though, I feel like they did an amazing/high quality job. These guys are definitely perfectionists. They pointed out small imperfections in the initial bathroom that I would not have noticed (apparently the ceiling was not perfectly flat)and fixed those. They added a lot of nice little touches as well (the vent fan they installed has bluetooth speakers so you can put on music while showering). I have been getting a ton of compliments on the bathroom, and the pictures should speak for themselves as well. Avoid Ready Remodeling. I hired them to renovate my kitchen, and the experience was awful. At first, it wasn't so bad, but the mistakes started piling up. Kathleen is great at communicating in order to secure your business, but not great at communicating when the work is actually being done. Electric. Ready Remodeling lied to me. My building required master plumbers and electricians. RR connected with a licensed master electrician who came to my apartment and gave me an estimate. This estimate was included in RR's estimate. When it was time to do the electrical work, they didn't allow him to come in. I found this out because I happened to be home sick the day he was scheduled to do the work. I had to hire him separately to make sure the work was up to code after RR left wires hanging out under my sink. Plumbing: They submitted a plumber's permit to my building for approval, but I don't know if he actually existed, because he never showed. Because a licensed plumber did not do the work on my kitchen sink, they didn't catch that the pipe in the wall was positioned too high to be able to install a properly draining garbage disposal. This was caught by my building engineer after the cabinets were installed, so I don't have a garbage disposal. This is a problem that should have been caught, and then they should have discussed with me what to do next before the cabinets were installed. But, they had absolutely no idea this was a problem in the first place. Cabinet installation: I used Ikea cabinets with Semihandmade doors. These door fronts are installed exactly the same way as the Ikea cabinet doors. Kathleen came over to my apartment to go over the plan, and I gave her the Semihandmade instructions in English and Spanish. When I got home the day the doors were installed, they were done incorrectly, and a large side panel for my fridge was cut wrong. They also tried to gaslight me, saying that the way I wanted it done was the wrong way. Basically, they didn't read the instructions, installed based on their instinct, and then tried to blame it on me. The replacement panel would have taken 9 weeks to get here and would cost $400. They offered to cover the cost, but the time was still an issue. Instead, they roped me into covering the error with a full-wall quartz backsplash, which would have cost me an extra $1200. I could write a novel about our negotiations, but it was a nightmare to deal with. Ultimately, the doors were installed properly, but this was preventable. Also, it didn't seem that Kathleen was actually communicating with her team about what needed to happen, and I couldn't tell them when they were on site, because they spoke very little English. Cooktop: the cooktop that I had on site for install didn't work. Giancarlo offered to take care of getting a replacement, which was kind of him. There was a lot to deal with, and the company I bought it from was really bad at handling the replacement. They ended up sending the wrong one, and I didn't find out until they came to install it. It took 3 months, (which was not RR's fault), and I had to wait for it to be installed before my building could perform the final inspection. During this time, there were lots of small things that needed to be taken care of and installed, and I tried to get RR to come and take care of them. They kept dancing around the scheduling. They didn't flat out refuse, but they also didn't make an effort to make good on their work. They often left the work in a condition where I was surprised that they were satisfied with it. They would usually tell me that "we've installed x amount of kitchens over many years, and this has never happened to us!" They just didn't treat me with very much respect when I voiced my concerns, and I had to really fight for them to make it right. During the time we were waiting for the cooktop, they started harassing me to pay the rest of the money I owed them. I had paid half of the estimate, and because of the electrical and plumbing issues, I was not confident that my kitchen would pass inspection. I told them that I wanted to wait to close out the payment until after my kitchen inspection. I understand that the cooktop timing was difficult, but they couldn't be bothered to fix what was already wrong, so I didn't trust that they would fix other issues after I paid them. I don't think they keep good accounting books either, because prices kept changing every time I talked to them--it was very strange. I'm sure Giancarlo will comment on here and disparage me like he has with other reviews. This is a really good example of how RR will treat you if you bring up an issue with the work they've done. They'll gaslight you. I'm really embarrassed that I hired them, and I wish I had trusted my instincts at the beginning and had not hired them in the first place. The cosmetic work was fine, but the important work that necessitates a contractor--was awful. read more

Giancarlo and his team were excellent to us. I don't know what that 1 star review is talking about. My wife and I needed renovation done for a house that had been abandoned for 3 years. We are first time homeowners and although we had done a lot of research around renovation we had never really done it before. Given that this was going to be our biggest investment and future home we could not afford to mess up. We spoke to a lot of contractors because we needed to do this right! Giancarlo was the best mix of professionalism, workmanship and price. Professionalism: He and his team were always at the site on time. Giancarlo or Armando (his foreman) was always there so we had a point person to deal with. They were both very responsive always courteous and even went the extra mile to be friendly with our future neighbors. (They all loved them). He communicated very clearly and in a timely manner on what permits, materials and time they needed and if there was an unexpected change he would warn us. We loved the constant updates and photos he provided when we needed. Workmanship: This was our favorite quality. His team's work is simply impeccable. No stone was left unturned. He has a great eye for design and he genuinely does his best to accommodate your requests (and we had some unconventional ones). They work very hard and they do an amazing job. He is also well connected so for jobs that he wasn't an expert on he had a great guy for that. We still use the electrician he intro'd us to. The plumber wasn't great but we'll find a good one. Price: We know that in DC, everything is expensive and we braced ourselves for that. But we did not expect some of the quotes we were getting. Please shop around before you settle on one! Giancarlo gave us a very competitive price and timeline and he stayed true to it. We had some unexpected issues with the drainage which delayed him and added to the price but he was mostly patient and we got it resolved. As with all large projects there were ups and downs. But his communication skills and the fact that he is very accommodating and understanding helped a lot. All in all, you can't go wrong with Giancarlo. He's a genuinely talented, hard-working pro with an awesome team behind him. We're OK with talking more in person and showing you his work if he introduces us. read more

I'd give them a Zero but... the only good thing I can say about this company is they were quick to respond to my call. The rest is down hill, the workers are very messy, they do not have the experience necessary to do the work correctly. The owner really isn't a contractor, more of someone who has hired latinos, don't get me wrong I'm all for that, but in the end he doesn't have the skills necessary to not only do the work, nor to teach his crew In the end I had to part my ways with him and hire another company to tear out what Ready Const did and start over at a cost of $1,800 No Bueno! I hired Ready Remodeling to do some exterior painting on my house. Their estimate was very fair and they were extremely thorough in sanding, painting, and priming. They were also very responsive when I had questions and keeping me updating on timing/status of painting (it was raining constantly when was scheduling the work. The scraping and sanding was also a dirty job but they did a great job in cleaning up behind them and removing all of the paint chips from the lawn/mulched area.
