I wanted to write a review of the great work that Hugo and…read more Noel did refinishing our living room, kitchen ceiling and three doorways in November. In the living room, Hugo and Noel replaced our dated wood paneling with drywall, refinished one entry way, the baseboards, shoe molding and the room's bay window trim and sill. In the living room, the drywall work was made more challenging as they had to fit it up against the ceiling beams and a fireplace mantle. In the kitchen, they refinished the ceiling and re-framed two doorways, that had dated louvered doors, into beautiful entryways. All work was meticulous, with perfect fit and finish. One example of the attention to detail and craftsmanship was the bay window sill replacement. Hugo took stock sill molding that was wider than the original molding and cut it to size. The result was a sill replacement looked exactly like the original. He even hand sanded the sill's corners to match the curve of the original sill. In all they did, their care for fine workmanship was evident. Words to describe Hugo, Noel and their work: professional, meticulous, prompt, courteous, friendly. Communications were great. Hugo and Noel always explained the work they were going to do that day and at the end of the day, relayed their work schedule for the next day. Each day, they arrived at the time they said they would be at our house. With all work, they took the time to ask and understand what we, as customers, wanted. Throughout the project, they asked for feedback on their work to make sure they were meeting our expectations. We were very satisfied. We highly recommend Hugo and Noel!

The painters were friendly and didn't need any oversight, were friendly, worked quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. We had two hiccups along the way, which both dealt with us adding on painting our front door which I offer as cautionary tales for anyone getting their front door painted: First, the powerwashing of the front door also broke our electronic lock. Patrick was quick to respond and removed the cost of the replacement lock from our invoice. (Very kind, thank you!!) Second, I don't think they told us the right kind of paint to buy because it has always looked too matte and stroke-y, and has lately started to bubble. In the future, I would do more research about what type of paint to buy rather than ask the guy who shows up -- I shouldn't have sprung it on them, even though they were more than happy to do it. Who knew that door paint selection could be such a process? Despite these two notes, I would definitely use Patrick's again in the future. It's hard to find a place that offers great customer service these days, and I am very grateful!

Leonel, the team lead, was great. I had a few questions about our drywall repair and he was very thorough in explaining it to me, and ensuring I was satisfied with the quality of work. And when follow-up was needed after the job, he and two of the crew came back to make sure everything was up to snuff. First thing the next morning, he returned with additional paint, repaired the marks beautifully, left the remaining paint at the house for future touch-ups, and called me afterward to let me know everything had been taken care of. Amazing contractor!!!…read more Lawrence and his crew did a complete renovation of our basement to build an apartment for my parents. From the design through completion, it was a great experience. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. I give them my highest recommendation!

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Liberty Painting! I was referred to Liberty Painting, (specifically Luis), by a friend of mine as we are looking to get estimates on painting our newly constructed condo. To start the estimate process, I reached out to their business contact information by phone and email. As soon as I called, the (202) number, Luis picked up the phone, said hello, and then hung up on me as I started talking. Even after this, I was not upset at all considering that I figured maybe the called drop or he suddenly got busy. However, he never attempted to call me back by phone, even after this incident and after I contacted him by email soon after to still get an estimate. I did finally get a response back from Luis by email later that evening. Although, I had hoped that Luis would have just called me rather than us communicating back and forth by a few emails for an estimate, especially since I was unable to show them our place yet as our settlement date isn't until a month away and would have been easier to communicated what we wanted and how everything is laid out by phone. Anyhow, I still continued forward with this preferred mode of communication by Luis and Liberty Painting, and didn't worry about it, but soon after Luis provided us with his estimate, I emailed Luis back and I asked him a couple of questions regarding the estimates and if it was possible for us to provide our own paint, etc. Sadly, even if he was not willing to accommodate our requests or questions, the least he could have done, was respond back to us with a simple NO and we would have accepted that. However, he never responded back to us by email or phone at all since our last email asking him a few questions based on the provided estimate, and it has now been 5+ days since then. It is unfortunate that this is the way that Luis and Liberty Painting operate their business and exhibit a lack of communication with their customers. read more

I am so happy with the work Liberty Painting did for me and my roommate in a new apartment. From the start, Luis was accommodating, honest, polite and professional. He worked with us to get all of the work done less than a week after we got the first estimate. He finished the entire apartment (1 1/2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 15 foot ceilings) in one day with another several hours for touch ups. Overall, the painting job was very good. We had a few areas that we wanted him to take another look at (a few uneven coats in spots) which he immediately agreed to do--at no additional charge. I appreciated how he was so willing to come see what we weren't absolutely happy with and then to fix it right then and there. For interior painting, I think it is a tiny bit expensive but for the peace of mind of having someone you trust do an excellent job on short notice without leaving any mess behind, it was worth it and I would happily hire them again. I live in Waldorf Maryland. Luis and his team did an outstanding job painting my kitchen, parts of my living room, basement and a powder room. They also repaired drywall in the basement. I called him and he came out as promised gave me an estimate and it took a little time to get scheduled. Per his instructions, I selected colors and moved everything to the center of the rooms. Once onsite the team was very professional and moved very quickly. I was so happy and excited when I saw how beautiful everything looked. The colors added new life to my home and the baseboards, trim and doors were all bright again. The lines were all clean and distinct. The very best part was they cleaned up everything very well and completed the job in a day and a half. An all around excellent job! OMG, Liberty painting acme to my rescue. my husband and I had just bought a new home and needed it painted. We previously had gotten a quote from another person for 16k to paint an entire house. My husband forced, and I mean forced me to paint my sons room. It took us two weeks to finish. I did more research when I decided to call Liberty. I spoke with Luis who sent Alex out the very next day. I got my quote the next day and two days later the 13 men crew was at the house. They were ontime, quick, professional, and they cleaned their mess up. Antonio was the manager on the job and he made sure to clarify things about the. Luis and his crew headed by Antonio painted our entire 5,000 sf house in 4 days, with two coats, including all trim and ceilings. They did very good quality work. Antonio painted stripes in our daughter's bedroom, and he did a fantastic job. We had been just a little concerned about some of the negative reviews, but we can only say our experience was very positive. His crew was very careful with our flooring and furniture, did an excellent job cleaning up, and Luis sent us proof of liability insurance. Luis was easy to communicate with, he always responded to emails and returned phone calls. Their pricing was extremely reasonable compared to other companies we got quotes from. I was very impressed with Liberty. I had reached out to several painters to paint the entire interior and some exterior of my house. It was a big job. Luis (the owner) came and gave an estimate that was fair compared to the others. Luis was able to work with my hectic schedule, handled multiple change requests, bought specific paint we needed, and cleaned everything nicely - even made a couple follow up visits to touch up and clean any splotches on the floor. Luis, the owner, was very communicative via text and phone and his crew was extremely courteous and helpful (particularly when we sprung a leak and the crew pitched in to get buckets under the water leak). Thy showed up on time, were professional and detail orientated, and completed the job quickly. He and his team did such a great job with the interior of our house we hired them to do the exterior. They took extra care to keep the paint off the floors and furniture. After reaching out to several painting companies who never showed up to provide an estimate. I called Luis who showed up on time and was extremely professional. The estimate he provided was reasonable and after reviewing such great reviews on yelp I decided to go with it. I clicked on "request a quote" on Yelp from Liberty Painting. Luis came right back with an estimate just from my description. He came to the house to look at the rooms and his quote did not change. Liberty Painting did a phenomenal job painting my home! They were prompt in responding, reaching out about 10 minutes after I submitted a request, and they were the most reasonable price I found in Northern Virginia. They also went above and beyond my request to paint my shutters and fixed several broken shutters fasteners. For context, they painted the interior or of our entire home - walls, trim, and ceiling. The team knew how to work with high end paint and transformed a set of drab, beige, poorly textured, and banged up walls. They sanded the walls to manage the texture, worked expertly with tricky corners, managed complex work with dry wall to address dings and structural oddities. They are not just incredible painters - they are also amazing project managers and partners. The team managed our paint job while we traveled, but our furniture and floors were kept pristine (despite our 0% prep for them). When they ran out of paint (because I insisted on getting it and didn't get enough!), they reached out. When I didn't get back to them soon enough, they went to the store and perfectly matched the color, no VOC, and other specifications.
