DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! I've noticed that they claim all of their negative reviews are "fake" but I am now certain that is not the case. They came and installed these awful blinds in our new home & when I asked for a refund, they claimed that THESE are "custom" and cannot be refunded. They had no response as to why the valance wasn't measured correctly and why the seams on the blinds are uneven, but instead offered to replace them at an additional cost, and claimed this is because we were on a budget (we've already paid them $3900 of the total $4898 - for 4 sets of these awful blinds, and 3 sets of SHEER drapes we haven't received yet)- ridiculous. Avoid working with these people, they do not care if the customer is happy and they do not care about his awful product that they put out. after I posted my review to Google, HP texted me asking for the review to be removed. Completely unethical and unprofessional behaviour. He also offered that they can give us an "80% credit" to come pay the difference and purchase other blinds with them. I told him we do not want to purchase other blinds through their company after our experience. I went on to find out that the company used to have good standing with the previous owner Mike, however RH and this company should no longer be worked with or trusted!! They installed 4 sets of these horrible, lowest possible quality blinds and they took $3900 from us. I offered that they take back their blinds and give us a refund & he swore and hung up on me on a recorded call. The blinds appeared to be good at first but within months there are holes in the fabric and one by one the strings came apart. He charged $75 to repair each strings. He also told me a price to repair a larger blind but afterwards charged me over $200 more than what he coded. He cannot be trusted. Very sneaky! read more

The sales person came to our house and told us that its hunter douglas blinds and its Made in Canada, But when they deliverd the blinds we found sticker on it which says made in china. This company is scamming people in alberta. its not under same old owner who created a good reputation of the company. We have visited their production Unit and they are making blinds from 30 years old rotten fabric which was bought by previous owner of the company. all their warranty statement is fake, when you call them for warranty they will ask for service charges and repair charges which is $500 per blind. The blinds they are selling are typically cheap product available online at $30 to $40 for which they will charge u $600, please shop in the market before placing orders with Real Blinds superstore. STAY AWAY!! I mean STAY AWAY - DO NOT BUY from Real Blind Superstore!!! we wanted to support a local small business and Real Blind Superstore (RBS) manufactures their blinds here in Alberta. Hartik Patel (HP is what he calls himself) provided us with a quote double that of HD and Lowes. When I said the quote was to high $9000, he was willing to match the HD price of $4500. RED FLAG #1 HP claimed his products were of Hunter Douglas quality and we were getting a great deal. NOTE: Hartik Patel will claim any bad review is fake - how can 1 business have so many fake reviews?? They are not fake - Hartik Patel has many BBB and Alberta Consumer complaints and many have judgements against him and RBS. HP wanted an e-tranfer immediately - RED FLAG #2 My husband went to the main office to pay with a credit card on Friday at 13:46. they told him they don't want credit cards, only e-transfers, $3000 is what was transferred. RED FLAG#3 They told my husband it would take 2-3 weeks for the order to be completed. Before leaving my husband told them to hold the order until he confirmed a couple of measurements and cord locations on the long windows. My husband returned home with a sample of the fabric, upon seeing the lack of quality fabric at 14:35 (within 49 min of the e-transfer) I called RBS and stated I want a refund. HP called me and told me the fabric sample was 5 years old, that's why it was ripping. RED FLAG #4 I said so I can expect my blinds to rip in 5 years? HP initially agreed to refund my deposit of $3000 via e-transfer. The e-transfer never happened, I called back 1.5 hr. later and HP then said the refund could only be issued by cheque. RED FLAG #5. I said i wanted an e-transfer, HP refused "only cheque". He said he was going to check a couple of things and hung up. I called back 1/2 hr. later 16:30 (end of day Friday). HP said I was harassing him and I would never get my money back. Plus he told me I was not allowed to talk with anyone but him from now on. ABSOLUTE RED FLAG #6 I submitted a BBB claim that evening. Monday morning BBB emailed back saying RBS had sent my complaint to them. I also sent an email at 0738 to RBD summarizing the conversations of Friday, restating that the order was cancelled. I never heard back from RBS or HP until late Tuesday when HP called me to tell me my blinds were done except the long windows. I told him I cancelled that order on Friday at 1435 and I wanted my $3000 deposit back. He said nothing. Wednesday morning my husband went to RBS to see the blinds - not there. When the factory was called, they had no record of our order nor was it on the work list RED FLAG #7. HP later call me for the long window measurements and cord location. I told him again I cancelled the order Friday and want my $3000 deposit back. HP then has his receptionist email my husband telling him the blinds will be ready for pick up on Saturday. I emailed HP telling him the order was cancelled Friday and he emails back saying its too late the blinds are made. SCAMMER!!! HP and RBS should be ashamed of his poor business practices and take heed t all the BB and Alberta Consumer judgments against him. It's a disgrace to all the local Alberta small businesses who operate with ethics, integrity and excellence. Again, STAY AWAY!!!!!! UPDATE: After 6 horrific days of hoping for a refund of our deposit, incredibly disgusting customer service and only after I posted this review did they reach out. Terry M "Management" sent an offer to take $250.00 off the order I cancelled. I said I wanted my money back - which they agreed and requested that I remove this post. In good consciousness, I could not remove as I could not let another fellow Albertan go through the terrors of dealing with this company. Hardik Patel provided sub-standard materials and service to me. I paid the agreed price. When I disputed the materials price he was charging of 10 times the costs at Home Depot for the same product with same UPC code, he became angry. He started attacking my wife, who is a lawyer, at shirishchotalia.com online even though she has nothing to do with my dealings with him. He has had 5 to 6 false accounts created to attack her with false, defamatory and negative reviews. He then called the police against her. The officer told my wife that he sympathized with her. I am shocked that Hardik Patel continues to attack her when the contract was with me and has nothing to do with her. This is very bad business practice and looking at other YELP reviews it looks like he always changes his price after he begins installation. read more

Since going under new ownership, all the policies have been changed and they are not honoring the warranty for clients with the previous owner. I brought in an automatic blind, at this point it was with the new owners, the employee told me to change it to string, that way I would have a 5 yr warranty on it, the automatic I kept paying to have it fixed. I agreed and I did pay the charge to have it changed. This was in 2019. Took the blind in 2 weeks ago, and the employee, (not the same one) told me the warranty was for 90 days!!! I preceded to tellhim, why would I change it from an automatic to draw string if I still had to pay for the repair?! He literally said "I don't know"... I told him "what do you know". He told me the charge for repair estimated $120. I left it there to get an approximate estimate with 2 other blinds that needed repair as well and an estimation. Left very frustrated. 2 weeks later, no phone call, I call and he tells me he's been trying to call and no answer, HE NEVER UPDATED MY INFO IN THE SYSTEM WHEN I GAVE IT TO HIM WHEN I DROPPED THE BLINDS OFF. I asked him about the price and he told me $185! I told him, you went from 120 to 185,he then said "ok I'll charge you 120" After going back and forth and frustration because I was supposed to have warranty, I asked for management, and he said there away for 2 or 3 weeks, of course they are. He also told me the other 2 blinds I brought in cannot be fixed. I went in to pick up my blinds, and he assumed I was fixing the drawstring, and I told him, give me all 3 blinds, I'm taking them home and throwing them in the garbage! Purchased some blinds in June and 10 months later and lots of broken promises and poor service we have decided to cancel our order and get our deposit back but still waiting .be careful lots of promise not much finish . read more

I ordered two sets of blinds. One for my bedroom, and one for my living room. The one for my living room I had custom made, since it's for a patio door/window I wanted something nice. I put my order in May 28, 2018. I was told 1 week for the bedroom blinds, 3 weeks for the living room blinds. 1 week passes I get my bedroom blinds. 2 MONTHS later I get my living room blinds, which is where my problem starts. I get a call on a Monday that my living room blinds are finally ready. My Dad goes after work (since he is close by to pick them up for me). He notices that the valance is broken and the track was made so it was to be installed outside. We never asked for the track to be installed outside, we wanted it inside. So they had to fix it. On Tuesday they called to say it was ready. Again my Dad goes down to look at everything, then sets it up so they have someone come over to install it for us on Wednesday. Assuming it would be easier. I guess the joke was on us. Wednesday comes and my appointment was at 3:30pm, my Dad also said he would be there to make sure everything went ok, and everything still looked ok with my blinds. So happy he was there so I have a witness to the horrible things that went on. First they were late. At 3:40pm we called to see where they were, and the guy at the other end said the installers left at 3:30pm. Really...you have an appointment at 3:30pm and don't choose to leave till 3:30pm. When we asked to speak to a manger, the guy on the other end said the manger was coming to install my blinds. Perfect, we can talk to him face to face. 4:00pm hits, and they show up. Only 30minutes late. I guess being the manager means you can do whatever you want. So the manager and his helper come and before they start we had a few questions and concerns, which we thought was ok to ask, since we are customers. As they start to screw in the track, 3 of the screws that were used to hold up the track were put in at an angle, so they came out and damaged the top of my trim around my patio door/window. When me and my dad saw this we yelled for them to stop, and asked what they were doing?! Neither of us could believe it. They made some VERY noticeable damage to my brand new condo. The manager didn't like our tone. He started to yell at us. We didn't mean to yell, we just wanted them to stop before any further damage was made. We tried to explain that, but the manger actually started to pack up his stuff and started to leave. He said we were rude, ask too many questions, and were disrespectful. When I asked about the damage they made, the manager had the nerve to say "I don't care" and walk out the door, I of course ran after him. This isn't ok. I have damaged to my condo, you don't care, you also just left without finishing the service we paid you to do. I now have these blinds not installed laying on my floor. I was so mad. This is horrible customer service. The mangers helper and my Dad came out and me and my Dad were trying to talk to them, they weren't having it. The manger officially walked away (a very immature thing to do). I actually couldn't believe he was walking away, telling me and my Dad off. A manger of a company didn't want to help fix a problem. A problem they made. Instead he decided to run away from the problem. The helper stayed though to talk to us. We as customers had to keep apologizing. I had damage and blinds waiting to be installed. I had a manager who left, and the manger and his helper somehow turning the whole thing on me and my Dad. I just started to cry. I explained to the helper that this is my money. My HARD earned money they are wasting. It isn't ok. I kept saying it isn't ok, he didn't care, and clearly the manger didn't care since he walked away. Finally after lots of tears from me and apologies from me and my Dad (I still couldn't believe we had to be the ones to apologize), the helper got the manager to come up and finish the job they were hired to do. My Dad had to leave while they installed the rest of the blinds though, because the manger had the nerve to say the reason damage was made was because my Dad was watching them put up the blinds, and they were intimidated by him. First off, what does that matter? He has the right to make sure everything goes smoothly if he wants. Second, he wasn't sitting down just watching them. My Dad was talking to me, watching tv, looking up at them every once in awhile. If he was watching them constantly like the manager said he was, my Dad would of stopped them when the first screw went threw the trim, not the third screw. Just a lame excuse, refusing to admit to their mistake.While my Dad left he called the company, explained what was going on and asked to speak to someone who is above the manager. Well the person above the manager is the owner...who is the managers Dad. So this is probably why the manager could treat us so poor, because his Dad owns the company.
