It's been around forever, real old school, my type of pub. Parts of it are literally falling apart lol! It's one of these pubs that still has a hardware store on the premises. When I walked through the door a friendly waitress said hello and asked were we ok, She then showed us to a free table. It was quite busy as it was about 1.30pm. They have a bar section and a restaurant section. I don't think the restaurant part was open when we went in but the bar food looked supreme anyway so we stayed there. The waiters/waitresses were very polite, asking was everything ok when the food arrived, I noticed there was great friendly banter between the locals and the people serving, I would imagine they have alot of loyal regulars, and why wouldn't you, with a place run as well as it is. The moment someone finished their meal and left their table straight away there was someone over to clear up the area, fresh and ready straight away for new customers. The staff were so happy, friendly and efficient it was a pure joy to be there! Oh and the food, right that too! Well that was delicious! full lunch dinner for 9.95, i had the lasagne served with salad and chips, yum. for 2.55 extra you could go for extra lunch special and have soup or desert with free tea/coffee also.
