It's been around forever, real old school, my type of pub. Parts of it are literally falling apart lol! It's one of these pubs that still has a hardware store on the premises. Lovely beer garden out the back, the place to be on a fine day. The lads behind the bar are sound out too. Recommended , one of about 3 pubs I'd socialise in when visiting Gorey. Cheers!

Booklets on the tables helped outsiders understand the deep connection to the sea this small town has. We read the history cover to cover. Easy to find as it is right across the street from the church. Free wifi, you just need to ask for the code. A couple tv's were playing a football game for the local fan base. When I walked through the door a friendly waitress said hello and asked were we ok, She then showed us to a free table. It was quite busy as it was about 1.30pm. They have a bar section and a restaurant section. I don't think the restaurant part was open when we went in but the bar food looked supreme anyway so we stayed there. The waiters/waitresses were very polite, asking was everything ok when the food arrived, I noticed there was great friendly banter between the locals and the people serving, I would imagine they have alot of loyal regulars, and why wouldn't you, with a place run as well as it is. The moment someone finished their meal and left their table straight away there was someone over to clear up the area, fresh and ready straight away for new customers. The staff were so happy, friendly and efficient it was a pure joy to be there! Oh and the food, right that too!
