I recently contacted Jeff to represent me as a Buyer's agent to purchase a fourplex or duplex in…read moreCollege Station. Rather than represent my interests and help me buy an investment, he immediately referred me to one of his own listings. He was not initially transparent about it and I had to ask him to clarify. Nonetheless, I did like it and thought it was great so I asked him to write up the offer. After weeks of waiting, back-and-forth, and document preparation (the documents he sent over had several mistakes), he ultimately said that the seller wanted to back out of the deal. We had agreed to the deal in email and verbally and there was never any question that we had a deal and would close. I passed up other deals and dropped other negotiations that I was having to buy other properties so I could focus on this one. Jeff caused me economic loss. Throughout the process, Jeff was difficult to get ahold of, and I think he did not operate in good faith and was not transparent with his maneuvering behind the scenes. He lacked professionalism and attention to detail. Perhaps worst of all, upon backing out of the deal we had in writing (email) and verbally, he simply disappeared. He could have called me, been professional, and helped me find a different property. I still have cash and want to buy something! He could have even just went back to the Fourplex I initially wanted to buy. I suspect he disappeared because he was ashamed of what he knew to be unethical behavior. I'm surprised a reputable firm like Century 21 would allow Jeff to hang his broker's license there. I've done several deals as a buyer and seller. For investments and to live in. My mom is a broker in Oregon and I've been around the business for over 25 years. I was even a licensed broker myself for over a year. I respect the profession and appreciate how hard brokers work - but I've also seen my fair share of good and bad brokers. Jeff is not one of the best. I'm really disappointed.

Jody is extremely knowledgeable and matter of fact (which I LOVE!). Being from BCS, she knows the area better than anyone I know. On top of all of that, she understands the legalities of real estate more in depth than anyone I have worked with in the past. She prides herself on her great negotiating skills too. I can attest to that. Once, when I was going to accept someone's offer she said "You're not even going to negotiate that?!" She's got years worth of connections at her fingertips and will do everything she can to ensure her clients are making the best decisions for their future.

As a first time homebuyer and seller, I felt clueless even after doing lots of my own research. I'm glad that I had a real estate agent to help me through those questions I had. But I'm even happier to have had Jody. Whatever level of expectations that I had going into each of the processes, she brought a level of expertise that *far* exceeded them. During our house search we spent numerous months looking for houses. Countless houses were either not up to our standards or taken before we could even put in an offer. Jody had the utmost patience as we bounced from house to house (and even the occasional bouts of indecision). Each time we felt discouraged from the long process she was very quick to give reassurance. The selling process that happened a few years later went just as I had expected - amazing. She made a home visit to discuss the plan from start to finish and pointed out many things that we should work on spruce the place up. We were very happy to be working with someone so in tune with the market. Feedback from potential buyers reaffirmed that. If you're looking for an agent, do yourself a favor. Talk with Jody.
