When I lived in one of their places they were really responsive whenever we had an issue. Very nice staff.

They'll say whatever they need to just to get you off their back, and then do absolutely nothing. We've been waiting endlessly for a second dryer that was promised, only to be fed excuse after excuse: "We need permission from the owner," "We don't have keys"--really? Total BS. They clearly don't care about tenants once you've signed the lease. The lady in the office is a real peach to deal with (note the sarcasm), and the property manager, Taryn, is incredibly difficult to work with. The entire complex has been asking for Allo internet service for months. Instead of helping, Marcy told tenants we had to contact Allo ourselves to request a site survey. When we did, Allo informed us they've been trying to reach Taryn for months with no success--just to get approval to wire the building! If something needs to be repaired or replaced, you might as well do it yourself. The maintenance crew is useless--can't even handle a five-minute task without dragging it out or screwing it up. But of course, they still want to raise the rent without maintaining the property. Save yourself the headache. This property management place is a joke, and the people running it make it worse. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

This is a massive apartment complex with multiple buildings of varying styles and degrees of renovation. There is a huge beautiful pool area at the clubhouse, a gym with a reasonable amount of equipment that was usually always working, and a party room for rent. The office staff is friendly and helpful and the maintenance staff is wonderful to work with. I lived on Norfolk drive in one of the newer buildings. It was a three story locked entry building that always had a working elevator and the hallways and floors were cleaned weekly. Mail boxes and garbage were conveniently located close to my building. Plenty of uncovered parking space and both the parking lot and sidewalks were always kept in fantastic shape. In winter, they were salted and snow was shoveled. In the spring and summer the gardening was impeccable. My apartment was a spacious 2 bedroom with a bonus sunroom off the master bedroom. I live in a house now and still dream about the size of that bedroom, it was phenomenal. Huge sunken tub and separate shower in the bathroom. Nicely sized spare bedroom and bath and a beautiful up to date kitchen and living area. The apartment has its own water heater and central heating and air. It is very easy to keep your home comfortable regardless of what Nebraska weather is giving you. The walls and floors are pretty great in regards to sound proofing. I only occasionally heard muffled noise and never had any noise complaints for myself. The balconies were pretty large and mine faced a beautiful running trail and waterway. In the summer the fireflies danced off the water and in the winter a local fox frequently frolicked in the snow. It was a hard apartment to let go of. The rent was super affordable and never drastically went up or down year to year. In the end, all of my deposit minus the carpet cleaning was returned to me and my move out was as seamless as the three years I rented here. I think this is undoubtedly the best apartment I have ever lived in.

Renting from RRE has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a tenant…read more When I moved in, the property had no working smoke detectors -- a basic safety requirement. I was told they'd be installed right away, but after four months of delays and broken promises, I contacted the Lincoln City Inspectors, who confirmed the detectors had been missing for over five years. The city issued a citation, and shortly after that, RRE retaliated by cancelling all existing service requests and has ignored every repair request I've submitted since December 23, 2024. The home has serious safety and health issues, including: * Rodent infestation due to missing vent screens (confirmed by the Lincoln Health Department) * Toxic air and poor ventilation, triggering regular asthma attacks * HVAC failure -- the ductwork doesn't deliver air to the first floor, making it unlivable year-round * Unpaid trash service, even though it's part of my rent -- I was contacted directly by the trash company due to months of non-payment * Exterior damage, including loose siding hanging over the garage To make matters worse, a neighbor -- who attends the same church as the owner, Dana -- informed me just this week that Dana is intentionally refusing to make repairs and is bragging that she will continue to collect rent from me for the remainder of my lease as punishment for reporting the safety violations to the city. This is not just poor property management -- it's retaliatory, negligent, and unethical behavior. RRE demands full rent on time each month but fails to uphold basic responsibilities under Nebraska tenant law. If you're looking to rent in Lincoln, do yourself a favor and avoid RRE. There are plenty of other property management companies that treat tenants with respect and follow the law -- this is not one of them. The positive reviews on here are from the friends and family of the owners of RRE.

We lived in the rental home for nearly 3 years. We never called the landlords for any issues and always paid rent on time. We were great tenants, we cared for the home and we had a great relationship with our neighbors. Before we moved out, we read through the recent google reviews where previous tenants stating they were not treated fairly by DHI after they moved. We hoped that would not be our experience as we had never had any issues with them for the duration of our stay in the home. We gave a proper written 30 day notice and we spent every possible moment of that 30 days cleaning the house to perfection. As a family with children, getting as much of the deposit back was extremely important to us, so we put the maximum effort into cleaning the home. We were extremely satisfied with the condition we left the home in, and we were certain we would get a fair amount of our deposit returned. During the final week of our stay, Mathew Hartman called us to let us know he would be showing the house. On the day of the appointment, the interested party showed up to view the home, but no one from DHI ever showed up to show them the home. We were there cleaning that day, so we let them look around anyway. At the time it was comical to us because we already read the google reviews and we anticipated a certain amount of "shady behavior" from DHI. Those other reviews were not exaggerating. DHI really is a scum business. When we finally received our returned deposit, I was disgusted to see the deductions they made. It was as if we had not cleaned at all! They had deducted nearly $1000 for cleaning and one $360 charge for "Pet Damage" without any specifics? My thought is - how do we know they actually fixed these so called "damages" they charged for? When we moved in, the tile by the basement door was already ripping up. Not a huge deal to us at the time because it was in the basement. But seeing as they are now charging us for that damage, I wonder if they charged the previous tenant for the same thing and never repaired it. I wouldn't put it past them. It's sickening to me that we spent so much time cleaning the home and they charged us as if we did nothing. We may as well have done no cleaning at all. It would have been a better value to our time. Bottom line, stay away from DHI. They don't deserve your family's money.
