Pros - The quote Fernando gave me was fair, and he and his team did a decent job…read more Cons - If he agrees to do the job, be prepared to be ghosted or have your time wasted. He came a day later than he told me he would, without telling me ahead of time. Replaced my mulched area with gravel without telling me. He also left a giant pile of gravel on my lawn for a full day, killing a big patch of grass. I needed paver bricks laid, and he rebuilt pillars on the patio without telling me. While rebuilding the pillars, he cut the wire that was connected to light fixtures that are on top of the pillars. Fernando would not admit that he cut the wire, but I confirmed with an electrician that there is no power running to the end of those wires, so they were cut along the way. After weeks of calling Fernando and asking him to come out to take a look at the light fixtures, he either never responded or ghosted me. Stay safe and spend a little more money to have work done by people that won't damage your property and won't waste your time.

I called at 11 and was told by the woman who answered that she did not know what had happened and would call me right back. She didn't. I did not hear from them for 6 1/2 hours from their supposed arrival time! At 3:30 p.m. the guy called and told me they had a "crisis." I was understanding, but I kept wondering: Why didn't they call me about this right away? A phone call takes five minutes. So I waited two days, and still no contact from them. Two days later I called, requesting them to contact me. No response. I decided to try one more time, so on May 19, seven days after the day they were supposed to come, I called about 9 p.m. The woman who answered the phone said they had talked about my order "this morning" and the tree man was "supposed to call me" that day. He was "not at home" but would call me back in about an hour. He never did. So they left me high and dry. I wasted over five weeks waiting for Tree Time to fulfill the contract he had written up. I am appalled at the poor business practices of these people; this is no way to treat a customer. Now I have to start all over again trying to find a tree trimmer. I know the tree services folks are booked out quite far (the first one I called said they have no openings until September). Maybe I was just lucky; if their work is anything like their business practices, I may have dodged a bullet.

The owner later contacted me by phone and stated that he was on his way to my property to complete the estimate. At that time, I informed him that I no longer needed the estimate because another company had already removed the tree that had fallen during the recent storms. Within minutes of that conversation, I began receiving multiple text messages from the owner in which he called me rude and continued contacting me in a manner that I felt was inappropriate and harassing. The following day, I spoke with Samantha, the owner's wife. She stated that I should have notified the company sooner that their services were no longer needed. I explained that I was not home when the tree removal was completed and also expressed my concern about the repeated messages I had received from one of their workers. Samantha then informed me that the individual sending the messages was her husband, the owner. Unfortunately, the conversation became increasingly unprofessional. Afterward, I received another text message stating that they were contacting the police regarding the situation, followed by additional messages a few minutes later. I chose not to respond to any of these messages. I understand that scheduling changes can be frustrating for a business; however, I believe the repeated messages, threats to involve law enforcement, and overall manner in which this situation was handled were unnecessary and unprofessional.

Amazing response after August's derecho in New Lenox. Our prize 45+ year old massive linden tree…read morewas twisted by the wind and the trunk was split in half. At risk of falling on the house in the next storm, and unable to be climbed due to the precarious nature of the damage, Homer Tree showed up with 4 trucks and a master crew who used a crane and bucket truck to safely saw through the trunk and lift the entire canopy out in two enormous sections, which went right into the chipper. They cut out the rest of the trunk, ground down the stump and the last guy on site used a rake to pick up every last stick and leaf. 45 minutes of extraordinary professionalism. These guys know their stuff. We were extremely sad to lose our amazing, beloved tree but glad we didn't have to worry about or home or property being damaged by inexpert removal.
