I signed a form for all my medical records to be forwarded. I also explained about my compounded prescriptions to add to my file. On February 13 I had my doctor's appointment. I had expected everything to be in my file by then. Alas, nothing had been added to my file. At that time, I repeated my prescriptions to Dr. Dial, who it seems did not add it to my file, either. Today, March 6, I called the office and requested that my compounded prescriptions be refilled. The first staff member mentioned some powder???? prescription (I have no idea what she was talking about). I was transferred to the medical assistant, who called it in. She did not call in accurate prescriptions. I had to drive to the compounding pharmacy, Medical Arts Pharmacy, and bring my vials of my estrogen cream and the pharmacist wrote down the prescriptions, which I then hand-delivered to the doctor's office. Whenever I would call the office, the staff would over-talk me and not listen to what I was saying, so they would make further mistakes. It's a good thing that I am healthy and I am mostly concerned about my estrogen, and getting blood tests, so that I can make any adjustments needed, myself. I do not trust them with anything else.

Today's referral, the office gave me an address in San Diego, then in Ventura and I found it in Oxnard but I wouldn't tell her her job! Maybe Shawn needs to check on the quality of her underlings and training they receive. Maybe someone should check on Shawn. The female couldn't pronounce the specialist field of practice either. I feel too old to change but looking for another practice. Definitely not recommended now.

In January I requested and filled out a form to have all my records from my previous doctor sent to her. I figured it would make my life and their life a lot easier. At my wellness exam in July it was very clear that they never followed up and got the medical records. Dr. Dial repeatedly asked me the same questions which was really exhausting. At the two month mark when I asked why they had not followed up on my medical records, the staff member said well you may not be back. I guess they are accustomed to patients leaving that practice. One form that I filled out before the July exam, I asked the staff, will you be showing this to the doctor now? They said yes, but apparently either they never gave it to the doctor or the doctor never looked at it. Because she never addressed my answers. They refuse to use an email system or a portal to be able to send messages. You can't fill out forms online. You have to hand write them onto several pages. And communicating by phone, with the staff goes nowhere. It took them four months to get my compounded hormone prescription, correct. Also, the doctor only looked at immunizations from CVS, not the state immunization records or other pharmacies so she had incomplete vaccination records. I have now changed doctors.

We work together to get the best out of my treatment options and she always takes the time to listen to me. Once I had to wait so long to see her (for a scheduled appointment late in the afternoon) that I simply had to leave as I had another appointment I could not miss. I was told I should make appointments for earlier in the day, which isn't always an option for me. Other than sometimes having to wait quite a while for my appointment, I have nothing negative to say. The positives far outweigh the drawbacks and I'm also very grateful she was able to see me when I walked in earlier this week feeling ill. Since Ojai doesn't have a dedicated "urgent care" clinic Dr. Petroff tries to have availability each day for urgent care type issues. This is fantastic.
