The front desk staff asked me to spell very simple words (like "circle"), and there seemed to be a lot of confusion over basic information. It made the whole interaction feel awkward and unprofessional, and it actually heightened my anxiety to the point where I started stuttering while trying to answer questions. When I was finally seen, the experience didn't improve much. The nurse practitioner seemed genuinely confused about my medication allergies. Even after I clearly explained my reactions and history, she still appeared unsure and kind of just blanked out instead of addressing it confidently. That was honestly the most concerning part, because I didn't feel safe or reassured discussing my health. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and lacking in clear communication. I understand that mistakes happen, but in a healthcare setting, especially when discussing allergies and medical history, there needs to be more confidence, clarity, and professionalism. I left feeling more anxious than when I walked in, which shouldn't be the case after a medical visit.

I'm not sure how they reconcile the short appointments with insurance companies. It does not seem standard to me. I will definitely include questions about length of appointment time when interviewing centers for future potential services I choose.

I showed up to John's practice with both runner's knee and a rotator cuff injury- and only about 5 weeks of time for PT sessions before heading out of town for an extended trip- and John was clearly committed to progressing me through recovery as quickly as my body was able to adapt so that I would be on a solid foundation for continue recovery after I was no longer able to work with him directly. Importantly, John Mittlebrun is a listener. The questions he worked through during my initial knee and rotator cuff assessments and then follow-on PT visits demonstrated that he was clearly paying attention to me, my body's incremental limits, and my body's progression through recovery. He helped me understand the balance between pushing up to the point of pain vs pushing through pain, the importance of consistency over perfection, and to trust the process even when patience is difficult. After five weeks of working with John, I'm now cautiously getting back to running and swimming; both of which are huge physical and mental achievements. His care and attention have truly set me up for sustained physical endurance to continue the sports and hobbies I care about for my physical and mental health, in addition to living each day feeling mobile, strong, and healthy.
