To my surprise I was treated with dignity and respect from my initial call with Stephanie until the day I was discharged. Setting my pride aside,the staff were very kind,they were not there to be my friends. The facility/my room was very clean and the food.. The food was really really good. Chef Mike was awesome. He even made special meals just for me, to accommodate my shellfish allergies. The psychotherapist Esther who ran the daily group sessions was "extremely" kind, attentive and knowledgeable. I learned so much about myself and my disease of addiction. I can not say enough good things about Md House. I know for a fact that there are much worse facilities out there and being a newcomer to this whole process I am thankful that I was led here. Also, at the time of my discharge,they made sure that I had a plan in place to continue my recovery. They set my appt with Bergand the next day (which is also awesome) before I left. I must also say that I have one of, if not the best insurance carrier which Im sure definitely helped since I had zero out of pocket expenses. Although my insurance did not dictate the level of care or respect I received. I understand treatment works differently for different people. In my case, I was sick and tired of the way I had been living and at the time of my surrender and decision to seek treatment, I was truly ready. I'm still in early recovery but in my opinion, this is why it worked for me. I'm proud to say that I'm coming up on 5 months clean and I'm thankful for Md House for helping jumpstart my recovery. So to all who are thinking about a new way of life. You can do it! You owe it to yourself as well as to the family who has loved and supported you throughout your active addiction.
