This review reflects my personal experience with Michael Baker and Woodgrain Construction…read more I hired Michael Baker and Woodgrain Construction to complete a major remodel of my home after being told the project would take approximately 6-8 weeks, with an additional 2 weeks for approved changes to the scope of work. While I was traveling internationally, I continued making weekly payments in good faith based on repeated assurances that the project was progressing according to schedule. When I returned, I found the project significantly behind the timeline that had been represented. Although demolition had been completed, many major portions of the remodel--including the master bathroom, kitchen, ceilings, and finish work--remained incomplete. After reviewing the work completed compared to the payments made, I believe I had paid substantially more than the value of the work that had been completed. I attempted to resolve the matter by meeting with Michael, providing written notice of my concerns, requesting a revised construction schedule, a recovery plan, payment accounting, licensing and insurance documentation, and establishing reasonable completion milestones. Following those discussions, work on my project ceased. I have been unable to resolve the matter to my satisfaction and have retained legal counsel to assist with the dispute. I am now having to arrange for additional labor to complete the project and minimize further delays. If you are considering hiring this company, my recommendation based on my experience is to: Have a detailed written contract that clearly defines the scope of work. Tie all payments to completed milestones rather than advance weekly payments. Verify licensing and insurance before work begins. Document the project with dated photographs throughout construction. Keep all communications in writing. Request regular written project schedules and progress updates.

I came into the shop, without an idea how to frame them. Devin, was very patient with me and came up with the idea of how to best frame my accomplishments. I could not be happier with the outcome. The creativity and quality of this art work exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for quality, care, customer service, and true art work, Framed in the Village is the BEST.

Their frame selection is spectacular they have all shapes and sizes. I love bamboo frames and even their bamboo selection is great if you go to Michaels or hobby lobby you'll be lucky to find one option! I love that it is locally owned but owned by the sweetest couple. They've been framing for years and know their stuff. They are all very personable and kind. They call you when your order is ready and it's almost always ready before the date that my invoice says. Even their coworker devin is a great help ! You never feel rushed in here even when there is a customer behind you waiting. I also feel like you get what you pay where when it comes to value! Overall great place to take anything you want to get framed!

I wasn't necessarily in a *hurry* to have my print framed, but there are limits to what is reasonable. Denton's likewise was in no hurry to frame it. After a couple months went by, I stopped by the shop to check on it, but they had closed early. I called to check on it but no one answered and I could not leave a voicemail. I called again and did leave a voicemail, but no one called me back. Finally, after * 5 MONTHS * my print was ready, at twice the cost of Hobby Lobby. This is not acceptable to me and I won't take anything there again.

The of customer service here is what really made the difference. When we first brought our painting here and dropped it off we were told it would be apprx 3weeks- that was fine with us. When 3 weeks came and went- we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We stopped by the store at after more than a month to see what the delay was about. It was pretty clear they had forgotten about our painting. Or perhaps just seemed very nonchalant about it as it was way past due. They promised to call us when it would be done and said it would in fact be done in the next few hours. 3 days went by.. still no call or painting. Finally my husband went again to the store and they had it ready but just hasn't had the courtesy to call. There was just no sense of sincerity or care for us as a customer. Regardless, I may not have had any comments about the service if the quality of work had been good. But the icing on top was the painting we had framed came out crooked. Like they didn't even take the time to notice how they lay it in the frame. I would not have noticed how poorly they did if I hadn't recently discovered another local frame shop who actually spent time with us on a recent framing project and saw their work compared to our painting we had framed here. Overall, this place has a beautiful display of art at the shop front, but won't be doing my framing work here. Overall , we left disappointed by the quality and service of work preformed here.
