What an incredible place! We walked in the door and our mouths were on the floor! We haven't stopped talking about how cool this place is! Reconsidered Goods is one of my favorite places to shop for creative supplies in Greensboro! I've been going since their older location, attended classes, and even donated items myself, it's such a wonderful community space. The store offers materials for almost every creative hobby you can imagine, from crafting to art projects. On my last visit, they were hosting a customer appreciation event, and I was able to snag an item 50% off. I purchased some vintage plates that I plan to use to display candles in my home. One of my other favorite finds from a previous visit was a vintage gravy boat I picked up the day before Thanksgiving, such a life saver for my first Thanksgiving! This space is a great addition to Greensboro, and I always leave feeling inspired and excited to create. read more

I absolutely love that this place even exists. I feel like it even puts Greensboro on the map in a unique way in the world of thrift shopping. As it is, this city already has a substantial supply of thrift stores. However, Reconsidered Goods does for the Three Rs what I have never seen any other thrift store do well to date. They likely came into existence as a way to cater to the low-budget art student crowd. They seem to have realized that there is potential value in everything. Literally. From the things you would expect to find for sale anywhere down to the things that are only just shy of trash, depending on your personal criteria. I particularly love the bucket loads of stationery and stickers, and the literal shelf loads of assorted random boxes. Your donations and your purchases all give back to the community in some way. They even have an entire maker space style workshop making up the back half of the building where I assume they also do trainings and workshops. And even their prices are so reasonable that a little bit of pocket change can go a long way. The only complaint I can even come up with is that they aren't open long enough. read more

Came here to find some supplies for the classroom and an upcoming fall event for the school I work at. It was soooo many supplies for arts, crafts, DIY projects, sewing, school, etc... I found some baskets in great condition, a couple of mugs, simple desk supplies, and some faux flowers for bedroom decor. I didn't have enough time to fully explore but I can definitely see myself spending hours rummaging around for some gems. read more

Stated on their website, their mission is to "promote environmental awareness, community engagement, and creative expression through reuse, education, and the arts." There are tons of things you can find here, like... - music records - scraps for scrapbooking or making collages - office supplies - leather fabric - home decor - accessories (jewelry, wallets, scarves) - photography supplies - old photographs and filmstrips ...and much, much more! Personally, I love to browse around their jewelry section since it's such a good value. I bought like 5 earrings from them! I love making collages and I love browsing around any cool scraps that I could find. They have a huge selection! Have any materials/items you no longer need but don't want to throw them away? Shopping in the store is fine. I love the concept and fully support the idea reusing whatever we can. However, this review is specific to my experience donating goods to the store. I have an eBay store and have collected many wonderful items through the years. I'm in the process of moving and want to lighten my move as much as possible. Anything that hasn't sold within 12 months I am purging. Some goods were sold to a clothing reseller, some donated to Goodwill, and some to donated to Reconsidered Goods. Here's my experience at Reconsidered Goods: I rang the buzzer at the rear of the store. Two people came out. I did all the talking...they didn't say hello, and they didn't say thank you and I drove off feeling like I should have gone elsewhere with my car of free items. Whoever is training staff needs to do better. If I'm a paying customer, you greet and thank. If I'm giving away free merchandise, it should certainly be the same, at the bare minimum. What a fun shopping experience for myself and three grandchildren ranging in age from 5 - 17

I love that they had a sewing class that my daughter could take. Every time I come in, everyone is so nice and helpful. They even gave my org a voucher to purchase items for the homeless! I think it's cool how they have it decorated. Everything is sorted together so it is kinda easy to find what you're looking for. A great place to donate to other than Goodwill. read more

You can find mostly housewares here along with some artsy, eclectic items. They have interesting technology that seems to have just been extracted from a time capsule. You can find a bunch of CDs and records but be prepared to dig for maybe one or two items that are worthwhile. You get the feeling they have been picked over many times. Be aware that Pride Month is not limited to just June in this store. There is a bevy of pride progress flags and rainbows throughout the store along with slogans about being an "ally." Also, most, if not all of the employees are seemingly gay or trans. Not a big deal to me as they have always been friendly, but kind of awkward when my kids are asking me if that's a boy or a girl and I have to tell them it's a boy dressed up like a girl. If you don't mind your thrifting with a side of politics then maybe this store is for you. read more

Reconsidered Goods is genius and fulfills such a great need in our community!! Recycled, upcyled, extra, used, reused, unwanted items all donated and housed in one large warehouse of an area. All merchandise is donated as they are a 529. The merchandise donation drop off area is Off to the side of the building. There is plenty of parking. Most employees are volunteers. This place is Heaven for art teachers, crafters and artists. In this day and age of our disposal society and overflowing garbage dumps polluted oceans and beaches, Reconsidered Goods offers this merchandise to the public at pennies on the dollar. As they say, "One man's garbage is another man's treasure!" Piles off fabric, scanes of yarn, office supplies, kitchen items, crafting supplies, artificial flowers, furniture an so much more. The merchandise is pleasantly displayed and organized throughout the store. My friend bought colored glass scraps and made a beautiful stained glass panel. I love stones and gems and found a beautiful mica specimen. You can spend hours browsing this shop going down memory lane and/or finding items you didn't know you needed or wanted!! It's fine, it's a store full of used things and tchotchkes; insofar, it fulfills its role. However, I went with my toddler to check this place out and there weren't any bathrooms. I was told I could walk around the parking lot to a massive grocery store and use their restroom. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to do that. This is such an unforced error; parents of small children are people too, and if I have to walk 10 minutes away and bring my toddler with me and back just to shop at your store, it's not gonna happen. I'd love to love this spot but not until I can be a person with dignity at your store. read more

Found this place on FB and was not disappointed- cool place to visit. Bought all of this for $50. Some Herb Albert - a Chick Norris action figure and an antique red goose coin bank. Cool store - cool vibe - a few other consignment stores nearby as well. I would watch the FB page for when they get stuff in that interests you. It proved to be a nearly perfect resource as we gathered the pieces necessary for our planned piece for the future DENT (Winston-Salem's - Recycle + Reuse Advocacy Community) Open Call for art pieces constructed from or honoring vinyl records. Reconsidered Goods accepts donations of lightly used household/commercial odds and ends. These are sorted for review by customers. This place is a treat to wander through and the RG staff will walk you to the most likely bins where you may find the bit the closely matches your wish list. read more

My favorite store for unusual finds, great selection of yarn and knitting needles anything you want to make is there yarn, fabric galore, painting on wood creations and they have wood there anything you can imagine is there antiques to retro to current merchandise. The store require face mask, hand sanitizing stations, shopping cart disinfectant too. I feel very safe shopping here. read more
