He is professional, compassionate, and perceptive. He makes me feel that I am intelligent enough to have insight into my condition, and that we are working together toward a solution -- which I have found is a very rare quality. I feel valued and respected by him. Dr. McKay suggested that I get ketamine injections for my depression, which has been persistent and not very responsive to medications. I am part way through my treatments, but I am already feeling noticeable improvement. The RNs and MAs are attentive and very knowledgeable here. They treat me like a queen, every time I see them. Personally; if I have done my research (and I have), then I have no fears or worries. But I can see how the kind and reassuring manner of the staff would be a great comfort to someone who is uneasy. I did a -lot- of research before trying ketamine. When I am at Roots Behavioral Health, I feel that I am among people who know what they are doing from the inside-out. They are very well-informed and do not hesitate to answer your questions with courtesy and thoughtfulness. I feel well taken care of and completely safe with them. And - thank heavens - they take most insurance!! I don't think you can find better care than at Roots Behavioral Health, unless it is at their other location, lol!

We had the misfortune of going to Lia for marriage counseling, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that she almost derailed our marriage rather than helping. At first Ms. Bermudez seemed fine, but after a session or two she wanted to see us separately. The practice makes a big deal in their many pages of legalize that must be signed that there will never be secrets between counselor and both clients. But without going into details, Lia basically undermined my spouse to me 1:1, and I later found out she did the same with my spouse 1:1. She basically told both of us unhelpful things about the other. In our next 1:2 session she pretty much incited an argument. We had come to her asking for help and trusting her faith-based professionalism only to receive the opposite. Fortunately we were able to find a Christian counselor elsewhere who is helping us repair things.

I reached out to Deep Eddy to schedule a appointment with a PA or NP of psychiatry for medication…read moremanagement because I was finishing up a 12 week program at Meadows outpatient Center. I really only needed them to manage 4 medications (lithium, Quetiapine, lamotrigine and propranolol) no controlled substances. The dosages were already figured out. All the work had already been done for them. I also listed a bunch of other PRNs that I had tried while in treatment that i wasn't currently taking. Again no controlled substances, they were trazadone, gabapentin, hydroxyzine. I've been a RN for over 12 years, I was the supervisor on the first acute care floor in central tx to take on covid. The first wave really did a number on me that caused a lot of my PTSD. Anyway, what im trying to say is I tell people when they haven't been honest with me, to avoid being resentful toward them. When I tried to set up this appointment to see a PA for medication management I was denied because I was too "high acuity." What happened before that was me giving Christopher Keener some honest feedback on his response time. They wouldn't confirm the appointment until they had a credit card on file. Before I could put my husband's credit card on file I had to fill out a release of information form. Which made me feel like a criminal that had to prove my innocence. Credit card information has nothing to do with HIPAA. I have never heard or been asked to do this before. I was told I would be called as soon as it was in. I did it right away, waited, emailed to see if he received it, waited a little longer, tried to access my portal to enter the card but it hadn't been set up, I called back got someone different they said they sent him a message and he would be calling back in 20mins, it never happened that day. I wanted to get it done because I was finishing up treatment the next day and wouldn't have my phone on me. They would only hold the spot for 24hrs and i was worried I'd loose it. No attempt was made to reach out to me for clarification, no doc to doc was requested. Just a refusal. The corespondance is copied and pasted below. Notice the times. I gave him some honest feedback about response time at 11:46 and the refusal was sent at 11:52. I think somebody(Christopher Keener) may have got in their feelings and did this passive aggressive lash out. I'm really surprised that a therapist(Christopher keener) could have such thin skin. Later that day I got a notification for an appointment the following day, which I was not available for. It was very confusing and I wasn't sure who to contact. The therapist later apologized and said she would get in touch about our next session, even though we had established a weekly schedule, but she never followed up. A week later I canceled services and had nothing but $300 in fees.

Bonnie took care of my daughter and was super competent and explained each step to us. Also, Jackie at the front desk reassured us and told us they would keep the cost down as much as possible. All along they told us how much each step would cost and it was very reasonably priced. I've had a very similar cut treated at another urgent care before, where Dermabond was applied successfully to close the wound. I also work in healthcare and have seen Dermabond administered properly many times. Unfortunately, my experience with Carmelia Petch, PA, was completely different. During the application, her hands were noticeably shaky, and the Dermabond was applied messily, leaving purple adhesive across my thumb and hand while parts of the actual incision appeared inadequately covered. Very little of the adhesive was used, and I left feeling as though the wound itself had not been properly secured--the entire reason I came in. Given the location in Westlake and the appearance of such a beautiful, modern facility, I expected a much higher standard of care. The front desk staff was very nice, but I was incredibly disappointed with the treatment I received from this particular PA. It felt like a complete waste of my time and money, and I would not feel comfortable having her treat a similar injury again.

The structure and services offered have the potential to be meaningful and helpful for people in recovery. That said, my experience did not fully align with my expectations. There were occasions where sessions were rescheduled and, to my understanding, not later made up, while I was still billed. When I raised concerns about this, I felt that my perspective was not fully acknowledged or resolved in a way that felt satisfactory to me as a client. The program places a strong emphasis on client accountability, which can be valuable. However, from my point of view, when I asked questions about whether certain paid services had been fulfilled, I felt discouraged from continuing the conversation rather than supported in seeking clarity. I also perceived what felt like inconsistent flexibility among clients, where some individuals appeared to receive more leeway than others. When I attempted to hold the organization accountable as a paying customer, it seemed to create tension rather than collaboration. I want to add important context to my experience. At the time, I was newly sober and navigating early recovery, which for me involved vulnerability, past trauma, and difficulty with trust. Because of this, confidentiality and emotional safety were especially important to me. Hearing that information I believed was shared in a private, one-on-one coaching setting later appeared to be known by others within the organization or recovery community was deeply upsetting for me on a personal level. Regardless of intent, this affected my sense of trust and emotional safety during a critical period of my recovery journey. Finally, the program is very expensive, and based on my personal experience, I did not consistently feel that the value matched the cost. This review reflects my individual experience and perspective only. Others may have had very different experiences, and I encourage anyone considering the program to ask detailed questions and determine whether it is the right fit for their needs.

I'm grateful I had the opportunity to live in such a safe and supportive environment. The women in the community maintain a high level of respect for one another and are highly motivated. The program blends recovery and wellness to provide various opportunities for growth. It was a well-rounded experience to foster healing. In addition to working a 12 step program, ARH connects each individual with a personal trainer and nutritionist. I'm thankful I was surrounded by such strong women during such a vulnerable time. I'm grateful I had their guidance in recovery. Limor helped me find confidence, self-compassion, and freedom in sobriety. ARH set me up for success. I moved to Montana after living in Austin, and I'm deeply grateful for the life I am building today. It wouldn't have been possible without Limor's guidance. ARH taught me discipline and accountability, which was a crucial component for transitioning into my life beyond sober living.
