I highly recommend working through some of the "Saving your Marriage Before it Starts" (SYMBIS) workbooks beforehand so you can get the most out of Rachael's expertise; although it certainly is not a requirement. We are so glad we found Rachael to prepare us to be stronger partners for one another and open the door to some hard life questions. In addition, and after a long time of trying different things (including medications) I was finally feeling better; and that is when I was told the practice was "moving away from medication as the solution" and moving to more "practical" solutions. I started to feel bad again but kept trying because changing psychs is tough. What finally broke the camel's back was when yet another practitioner left, and I kept calling and emailing asking to be set up with a new practitioner, never to hear back. When i did get a call from them, it was to advertise their new service: ketamine. The three stars are for the good practitioners who helped me, but ended up leaving.

Prices have been extremely reasonable for me, but I also have great insurance. I've been to some other places around town as well and they have all paled in comparison. YMMV. TLDR: If you can wait and have insurance, this place is great for LGBT mental health; if you are in immediate crisis, are looking to start therapy, and don't have insurance, you will probably be upset.

I was smoking 10 to 15 blk mild's a day plus, vape plus, large cigars, and pipes. That's over 2000 mg of nicotine a day. The strongest cigarette by comparison has about 1 mg of nicotine. I was most afraid of cravings and my thoughts wondering back to my addiction to smoking. Plain and simple WOW. 0 that's zero cravings at all immediately from first session. I am a lifetime non smoker now. It was so easy I cannot believe it. I would try to figure it all out but who cares. THIS IS THE SMARTEST BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT. You would be a fool not to go here. I had some in the car because I just knew it wouldn't work. I gave those away. I found more at the house and gave them away. I can tell you it is not a part of me anymore. It didn't take long to set up an intake appointment and I got one the following week. You might have to leave a voicemail but they got back to me the same day. I went with individual therapy sessions and so far I'm liking it and I also like how they specialize in grief and loss and I'm learning techniques that I can apply to my daily life. It's also nice to have one to one therapy in person. I'm so grateful that we live in a community that helps support such an organization that is locally run there are bigger chains out there but it's nice that there are still places with a local touch. We had a horrible experience with the Austin Center for Grief. Our son had passed away and we are…read morein great distress. It took several calls and three weeks before anyone called us back. They wanted our payment and insurance information, which we provided. It took them another 10 day to check it all out. They assigned us a therapist, and we had one intro session. She scheduled another session, but then canceled and said they substituted another therapist. Therapist number 2 did not show up for the session. We were stood up. When we called the office, they assigned us number 3, who was an intern. Since we are senior citizens and the intern was so young, it was obvious Austin Grief did not want us as clients. We lost more than 2 months without help. These folks have added even more stress to a painful loss, we do not recommend them.

Laura spent an hour talking about evaluating the problem(s), her approaches, and some helpful tips. I returned home and eventually shared the tips with my darling rat when he asked what I had been up to that morning. It included the descriptions of "sacred space," and "sanctuary" that Laura had given me. I had to go out of town soon after. In the time away my husband-rat meditated on and internalized the concepts. I came back to a transformed living space - with chalk marks and everything to maintain the designated CLEAR spaces outdoors. The before and after pix are outstanding.
