The chicken parm was hot and fresh. The chicken was cooked well with a good outer crust. The sauce was good and there was plenty of cheese. The bread was awesome. Soft on the outside and had a good toasted crisp on the inside. The banana pudding was great. Full of banana flavor, whipped cream and a vanilla wafer. All of that for $8.00, too! This establishment is a small butcher shop, deli, and they will process any of your prize animals or deer. It also operates as a wholesaler.

We go through a fair amount of produce each week, so when I heard about Wayne's I decided to give it a try - hoping for both better prices and better quality. I was totally blown away! It's incredibly well-kept and well-organized, and they have a ton of items that IGA doesn't. My favorite part is the "value bags" they have available - for just $19.95, you get a reusable tote bag filed with all types of fruits and vegetables. Check out the photo I uploaded... you won't believe how much I actually got for the price! It made us try new things we don't always eat, too. They also have a butcher attached, fresh local eggs, dairy, and more. One thing to note: if you're using a credit card, it does have to be for over $15. We can't even form hamburgers into patties, they just fall apart. We have had to buy 90/10 hamburger to mix with their hamburger. We asked for 1/4" of fat to be left on the steaks, and we got 2" of fat on the steaks that we have to trim down. For the price of butchering, and the quality we got, find somebody else.

The biscuit was not made it house, its shape was too perfect. However, the gravy with chunks of locally sourced sausage made it a true comfort dish. The gravy was a semi-thick milk gravy and it wasn't overly seasoned with salt and had the right amount of pepper. Trying to watch my sodium intake, I like it when chefs are light handed when shaking the salt into a recipe. The atmosphere is like stepping back into the 50's. You truly will feel as if you left the sock hop and stopped by the local soda shop for a bite. I'll give you a heads up, the outside is junky with a lot of weird stuff. Ignore the decor on the outside and head straight into the diner for a good home cooked meal. The service was impressive. One waitress was taking care of the entire small dining room. I over heard her tell another table, that she was relatively new. Being new, she did a great job. She was attentive and very personable. Her service alone would get me to come back.
