For 4 reasons: 1) billing and…read moreinsurance problems and confusion causing me to spend a lot of time correcting their errors. 2) the treatment rooms are cinderblock and my treatments coincided with below zero weather. No heat. 3) Their solution was to use heat lamps. The last 2 times I went, I was feeling that I was getting burned. I shouted for help loudly and in a panic, and it took a long time to get Dr. Yang to come. I was so scared. The second time this happened -same thing - a woman came to my rescue and said she could not take the lamps away!!!??? Dr. Yang came in and I told him to turn them off. Horrible experience. 4) when I got the bills, they had the audacity to charge $6.18 each visit for heat lamps. None of my complaint is about acupuncture, it is about how they run their business. I will never go back, and cannot recommend it because of these things.

I was referred here by a friend and they were able to get me in for an appointment the same day. The initial cost was only $18! When you walk in, you will immediately smell what seems to be burning incense or sage (or something). Almost everyone there is Chinese and little English was spoken unless talking to a patient. For a minute I felt like I wasn't in MN anymore (thank goodness). I was seen by a student from the clinic, though there is the option to be seen by a faculty member. Faculty members do consult with the students before treatment. The level of care, concern and attention shown to me by the student and faculty member was impressive. They were able to come up with a solid treatment plan and also gave me some chinese herbs to take for a few weeks. I will be seeing them consistently for awhile and am so happy and relieved to have found them! If you've never had acupuncture, it's mostly pain free, maybe slightly uncomfortable. They leave you in the room with heat lamps and calming music for the 20-30 minutes that the needles are in. The student told me a lot of people fall asleep during that time. The academy also offers a host of other medical treatments in addition to acupuncture. It's also good to know that you can use FSA or HSA money to pay for treatments and some insurance companies cover services. It is pretty affordable if you do end up having to pay out of pocket.

Jessica French and Nancy Bierma are the people I see for this and both are so friendly and knowledgeable. They always have product recommendations and information if asked but are never pushy about buying products. They recently added a massage therapist to their practice and Ray Neil is AMAZING. My spouse and I have both had massages and have left every time feeling relaxed and/or had pain reduced. The pressure is definitely not too light and she is generally intuitive about what is needed (I have asked for a little more pressure once and it was PERFECT), plus she has some great techniques for stretching/loosening painful areas. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Appointments are super easy to book online; if an appointment time is not available, call to see if they have some appointment times that are not listed online. The officer managers are all friendly and helpful. They also have some lovely products onsite to buy if you're interested, and they will usually offer you a cup of herbal tea after your treatment. They also accept HealthParters and Cigna insurance for acupuncture, just in case you have those carriers and acupuncture is covered under your plan. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Crocus Hill Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. I am thankful to have found such a wonderful, relaxing, and healing place.

I would say I was having an average of 3-4 headaches per week and popping pills like crazy. They were pretty severe to the point where it impacted my work and daily activities. I went to accupuncture under recommendation from my massage therapist as she sd that her son saw great improvement for migraines. I also found out after calling that it was covered under my insurance, so only had to pay co-pay at each visit. I kept thinking that it wouldn't work since the migraines were so bad. It took several sessions but I gradually started noticing a huge difference in my migraines and also my energy level. I started out going twice a week and gradually stopped since headaches went away. It is a very relaxing experience and most of the time I would almost fall asleep. I have to recommend Dr Chi as he is a wonderful Dr with many many years of experience in chinese medicine. I thought that there was no hope for my headaches, but now rarely get them and when I do the severity is nothing compared to before. My husband went also for carpal tunnel issues and saw great success after a few session!

I have been to about five other places for Accupuncture and Dr. Bian has far exceeded any expectations I had. After being treated by her, i realized that I had no idea that Accupuncture could be this beneficial! I noticed a drastic difference in my upper back pain after one treatment. She put a lot more needles in, hooks them up to an electric machine and puts a heating lamp over my body and she has me lay there for twice as long as other places did. She also does cupping, which feels awesome. She is treating me for back pain, weight balance, and emotional support. I have had only five treatments so far and I can feel a big difference. There is no chiropractic care here. I combine my treatments with Dr. Lori at Arts District Chiropractic. I have been to about six other places to get this service, and she is the best. (I will write a separate review about her). Working with both Dr. Bian and Dr. Lori has truly been life changing. They are a great combo.

Oh, and acupuncture! I have always been freaked out by the idea of acupuncture (amongst the typical fears, but I also have to thank Final Destination). My sciatic pain is caused by a bulging disc. It can be helped a lot better with surgery. Right now I'm too overweight to be a candidate. So that's cool. In the meantime, I needed some serious help. I can't stand for a long period of time to do regular daily tasks such as shopping, cleaning, doing the laundry or the dishes. It's hard to exercise. It's hard to sit. It's hard to sleep! I was getting desperate, and decided to take the plunge and try acupuncture. Jessica was my first provider. She's very sweet and made sure I was comfortable with my first visit. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to healing and I have her to thank for FINALLY giving me some LASTING relief of this pain! The treatment truly works between using the needles and the cupping technique, I've never been more pleased with results I've been searching for, for years! I also see Molly in rotation with Jessica, when one is not available I will see the other. Molly is also amazing! Her techniques and routine are a little different than Jessica's too which I feel is beneficial to my body to get a bit of a change once in a while. Molly is a great conversationalist and is also full of wisdom when it comes to overall health. Both Jessica and Molly make my visits feel like a spa treatment because it's so incredibly relaxing. Sometimes I fall asleep! I would also like to mention the receptionists at Selby are always very friendly and welcoming! Parking is breeze, they comp your parking fee at the Blair Arcade lot. Just bring in your ticket to your appt and the receptionist will take care of it for you. Thank you Selby Acupuncture for providing the help I needed! I'm wishing I tried acupuncture sooner!
