Now I don't know what their motive was for such a erroneous billing medical error, whether (intentionally or unintentionally) is this a scam to swindle money from the elderly? Elderly beware!!

MHSC's chief medical officer Melinda Poyer doesn't always follow national medical guidelines and has covered up that fact when an employee raised the concern. I have met few people who are as power-hungry as she is. She loves to introduce herself as the most important doctor at the hospital and expects everyone to do what she says because of her status, not her being right. MHSC's quality manager Kari Quickendon doesn't track quality metrics well. Proof is at the Hospital Compare website, where you will see MHSC doesn't reveal much of their data. Their patient quality survey is skewed-- less than 1/5 patients are willing to report about their experience there. In my time working at MHSC, the CEO Irene Richardson has not listened to the lower level people who actually have training in their specialty and instead listens to people holding power who speak outside of their actual area of medical training. Ask them about their employee turnover (which is high, except for the employees already high on the pecking order). Will you believe them when they tell you it's because the hospital is small or it's because of the weather?

The front desk staff told me that patients could pay when they are able, but I was never given any paperwork to set up a payment plan. I was informed that as long as I made monthly payments, everything would be fine, so I have been paying each month. About three months ago, I received my first statement from a collection agency. When I called the billing department, they said my account had not been sent to collections and were unsure why I was receiving these notices. They assured me they would resolve the issue and ended the call. The following month, I received another notice and called again. They acknowledged the note on my account, but still did not know why I continued to get notices; they said they would make another note and hung up. In December 2025, after a third notice, I called once more and was told the same thing before they ended the call. Now, in January, I received yet another statement, which did not even reflect my most recent payment. I called again. The man I spoke with was initially polite and said he would investigate. He returned to say there was no payment plan paperwork in my account--the paperwork I was never given or told about. He said he would send it to me, but explained I would have to pay by card with automatic monthly withdrawals. I told him I needed to pay by check. He put me on hold to check with another woman, but she was unavailable, and he said he would have to contact me after speaking with her. When I asked for his name and the name of the woman who would approve or deny my request, he became rude, refused to give her last name, and curtly wished me a nice day. He then asked if there was anything else he could do, and I told him to call me back when he had an answer. He then hung up. This harassment has been going on for 4 months. Do not recommend unless you can pay upfront.
