Cancelled the membership for my two kids with 30 day notice. Was informed by Sensai Haley we needed to give them 90 day notice to stop the billing cycle. Our signed contract showed the contrary and only required 30 day notice. Red dragon has proceeded to bill my account for 5 months straight at $400/ month. Has not responded to multiple messages or emails. For a business that preaches integrity, I question the moral ethics of this company and hope no parent sends their child to this establishment. In addition to their crooked business ethics, the classes were lackluster, repetitive, uncoordinated from instructor to instructor. Save your money/ time ! You can get better, more quality training at a local city or YMCA for a fraction of the cost. read more

Both my daughter and son have been attending RDKLV for a few months and all the Sensei's have been fantastic to work with. The dojo instills technique and discipline in all that they teach, from their beginner classes to their sparring classes. I enjoy the fact that they include white belts to black belts in their classes (not sparring against each other of course) which enables my kids to see what they can become with effort and discipline. SCAM ALERT. We signed for a $20 promotion that was advertised outside their store and stopped going after the second session as my husband didn't like the way the young staff yelled at the 4 yr old children. Next thing I know my card was charged $200 for a charge that I didn't authorize. I called Red Dragon to dispute the charge and the young staff indicated that he could credit me $20 based on their "cancellation fee". I requested a refund on the fraudulent charge and Kyle indicated that he would talk to his manager and get back to me. He added that I could come in and fill out some forms which I do not have time for. Be careful when you sign up for promotions. Apparently, they'll start charging your card hundreds of dollars even when you don't complete their promotion. read more

We had a party here for my 4 year old and I can't say enough amazing things about it!!! From the moment we pulled up, we had three come to our car to help us carry in everything we had. The place was decorated with a personalized banner... they handled every detail- the only thing to bring... the cake! I was nervous that it might be too old for 3 going on 4 year olds, but they manipulated the party to fit them perfectly. They had an obstacle course... dance party... races... limbo... and of course some karate! The brought all the gifts back to our car and offered to help with anything else. I really enjoyed the experience my son had at the dojo. The senseis were great and super motivational. My only issue with them is their OBSCENE cancellation policy!!! It was a stretch to pay high monthly dues and when we decided to place our son in a less expensive activity we were charged THREE months of fees! The girl at the front desk who explained the policy was extremely misleading, which led me to not fully understand. I never would have signed my child up knowing. What a scam. Seriously. We were walking by one day and saw a flyer with a promotion on it. It was a set fee, and you were to receive the uniform and 5 lessons (I believe...somewhere around there - it's been a while back now, but I am only getting around to the review). So, I went in to inquire (I work far from home, so the hours I am in the area are a bit restrictive during the week) about the schedule. There were loads of time slots that we could do, so I signed up online and paid the money. What a mistake. Once I paid the money and went to schedule my son, I was told those classes weren't available to him; that he had to do two one-on-one classes before he could do the group classes. Of course the one-on-ones were all inconvenient hours, so it took about two weeks before someone could teach him on the weekend. He took one class (which was great), and when I asked for the uniform, I was told he would get it before he went to group class. Needless to say, we could never get around to scheduling the second one-on-one, and I eventually gave up. Should have just burned the money - it would have been more enjoyable. No uniform, no classes - NO VALUE. read more

We first learned about Red Dragon Karate in La Verne thanks to a birthday party our little now-master yellow belt got invited to. He already was super into martial arts (inspired by Ninjago), so this was right up his alley. The party - led by Sensei Matt - was super fun and interactive for the kiddos, and our little ninja was hooked. We signed up for the free private lessons about a week after the party, and now we make the dojo part of our weekly routine.
