Pork & Crab soup dumpling and Chicken & Truffle soup dumplings
    Crissey Y.

The soup dumplings are a must try! Haven't had anything like it in the world! Loved how much soup there were actually in the dumplings as we used the straw to drink it right from within the dumplings! Yum! Filled with flavor! Everything we ordered were delicious and the Servers were friendly too. Thank you! Highly recommend!

Such a great restaurant. Had the Turbot with egg fried rice and was fantastic. Also really enjoyed the flavors and fun of the Pac-Man dumplings.

This dim sum place was very nice with a cool laid back ambiance. We went here to get dinner prior to heading to a play. We got to try quite a few things. The soup dumplings were amazing with a very rich flavor. We loved the Pac Man dumplings which all came with slightly different flavors. The noodles which came with the roast duck were perfect.

Delicious Chinese food, many interesting dishes both traditional and uniquely updated. Great staff, cute cozy environment and tasty treats. We had quite a collection of different dishes and they were all served hot, interestingly prepared and pretty to look at:-)

I had the most amazing time here. It's a little inconspicuous place at the edge of covent garden and if you walk Rok fast, you just might miss it! The size is a little small, but that's to be expected in London. They have an upstairs, most likely used for larger parties. We sat in the center table, so during our meal, we kept getting pummeled by servers and passers by. It was slightly annoying, but the food more than made up for it! We had everything we could, dumplings, cheeseburger egg rolls, foie gras and strawberry, scallion pancakes, pork belly, and I can't remember what else. Everything was delicious. The only thing I could say I wasn't wowed by was the foie gras and strawberry tart. I love foie gras, but it can be hit or miss depending on the prep and combo. This is basically a dessert. The strawberry tart itself was wonderful, but the combo with the foie gras wasn't it for me or my friends. Everything else was phenomenal, right down to the Pac-Man dumplings. Our fave was the cheeseburger spring roll. My only regret is not going back before I went home. Hopefully the NYC location has a similar menu. Sidenote: our server was Matt and he was amazing. Thanks, Matt!

We arrived 30 minutes early where we were greeted by someone other than the hostess. He happily sat us down right away. It did take the server about 10 minutes to ask us for our drink order. The Jasmine tea was superb. We ordered 5 things of which 1 was off the specials menu. First up, the pokémon dumplings, these were mediocre at best. they weren't hot and the fried sweet potato was soooo greasy. Next the chicken dumplings - the flavor was definitely there and there was like a pepper mushroom succotash accompanied the dumplings, i did enjoy this. Next we got the soup dumplings, these were OK. they came with a straw, i felt that was very gimmicky i also felt that there should have been more than 2 per order. Soup flavor was good, not great. Then we got the pastrami egg rolls, these were delicious but again overly oily from the fryer. My mom asked the hostess for extra sauce and her response, and i quote, was "Are you sure that isn't going to be enough?" She was rude and incredibly stand offish. Finally the scallop caviar dumpling - the scallop was cooked absolutely perfect, the dumpling was sub par in flavor, could barely taste the caviar. Place was a disappointment in my opinion. Was hoping for fire dumplings and this was ehhhh at best

Pricey, but worth it. We just ordered dumplings and the salmon bruschetta - so no full on main courses. Without drinks it came to about £25 each including service. The presentation was stunning. Food itself was delicious, in particular the pastrami spring rolls. I recommend you call them after 12pm on the day you want to go - they don't take reservations per se but it's a semi-reservation and still helps.

Really tasty dim-sum restaurant. The food is authentic and creative at the same time. Love the creative art design of the food plate. All the dim-sum that we ordered are nice, especially the PAC man, the soup dumplings (xiaolongbao), and the custard bun, which is the Perfect ending. Highly recommended. Would like to come back again for more!

What an amazing spot. The variety of the menu is superb. The quality and flavors or the food are phenomenal. Richard was more than accommodating. The vibe is very hip. Highly recommend this spot!! I wish I lived in London so I could frequent this restaurant.

The food was decent but the service was very underwhelming. Compared to other Covent Garden restaurants this place was not busy at all.

Duck & Rice, Soho, London, England -- April 5…read more Our family of four with two kids ages 9 and 10 made our way to Duck & Rice after walking through the Chinatown area, which was absolutely packed and fun to explore, and we were looking for something lively with shareable dishes, and the overall experience felt energetic with some real highs and a few misses. Arrival and First Impressions The space has a strong personality with a mix of pub and restaurant energy and it felt busy from the moment we walked in, matching the chaos outside in Soho, but still relatively well controlled with a steady flow of service and a constant buzz that made it feel like a place always in motion. The Highlights Food came out quickly and leaned into that comfort style Chinese menu with a mix of dumplings and larger plates, and the soup dumplings were the clear favorite for the table with both kids fully on board which is always a win. The crispy duck with pancakes was also solid and more in line with what we expected, and overall the variety kept everyone engaged even if the kids stayed mostly in their comfort zone. The Challenges Portion sizes were a bit tricky for a family of four with several dishes coming in sets of three which meant ordering extra just to share evenly, and a few items missed the mark including shu mai that felt a bit dry. The duck and rice being served closer to room temperature was intentional to keep it tender but still felt a little off from expectation, and surprisingly there were no chili oil or similar condiments for the dumplings which would have helped quite a bit. The overall noise and energy level can also be a lot after a full day out. Final Thoughts This is a lively spot that fits right into the Soho and Chinatown energy and works well if you are looking for a fun fast paced meal with shareable dishes, but it is not without a few quirks and inconsistencies. We are glad we tried it and there are definitely things worth ordering, but with so many strong options nearby we would probably explore elsewhere next time, making it worth it for the experience but not a must return.

They are known for providing foods from various Far Eastern countries. My meal was excellent. I had Prawn Crackers to start. A good sized portion came out. Everything was so delicious, and there were several other dishes I would have loved to have tried. I wish I had taken pictures of more dishes, but they all looked so good that we all just dug right in! Our server highly recommended the shrimp bean curd dish, and I am so glad she did. That's not something I would've ordered on my own, but my husband & I agreed it was our favorite dish of the night. My daughter's favorite (and my 2nd favorite) was the wagyu beef puff. I also loved everything in the steamed dim sum platter. The only thing that was mildly disappointing was the softshell crab. Softshell crab is usually one of my favorites, but it was just sort of bland. But overall the food was amazing. I just wanted to keep trying more & more things, even though I was stuffed! And the service was incredible -- really could not have been better. As a wine nerd, I have to say I don't love their wine service. You can't order a full bottle, only 500 ml or less, which means you're never presented with the bottle, so (in theory) you're never really sure you're actually getting what you ordered or getting a bottle that wasn't opened days ago. That being said, I have no doubt that the wines we were served were correct and relatively freshly opened, but I still would've appreciated proper bottle service. (On the other hand, being forced to buy only 500 ml at a time meant we could try two wines instead of sticking with just one bottle.) The ambiance was lovely -- spacious, sleek, classy, modern, with gigantic aquariums. This restaurant will be at the top of my list to revisit next time I'm in London!
