John Avila and his assistant, Jim, were phenomenal in every way! This past December, our furnace "puffed back" and, in eight minutes, deposited soot throughout our entire house. Thus began the long process of dealing with insurance and professional cleaners, but when it came time to paint, Red Ladder Painting Co made the experience seamless and most enjoyable. John helped us to navigate color choices and paint questions, and to orchestrate the process of preparing each room and its contents for painting. We were lucky that John was able to fit us into his schedule and, as busy as he is, he saw the job through to the end without a hiccup. In addition to their stellar painting skills, John and Jim took great care in sealing off rooms to avoid dust transfer and, each afternoon, they left the spaces clean, neat, and tidy. We recently moved to the area to a 150 year old house. Having no references for painters, I contacted Red Ladder and some others through Yelp. John replied promptly and met us to review the project. He was helpful with his insights about the wallpaper removal and plastering. His estimate was reasonable. We were very pleased with the quality paint job by Red Ladder Painting. This is the second time we hired John Avila and his crew. Two years ago we hired them to paint the exterior of our house. When they were done, our house looked beautiful. The crew also made sure that everything looked neat and clean when they left the site. This year, we hired Red Ladder Painting to work on a new addition to our house. This involved interior as well as exterior painting. I appreciated John's help with color selection and color matching. I chose Red Ladder Painting Co. after interviewing 3 other painting companies. John instilled in me a confidence that he understood what I wanted and that he would do a good job in a timely manner. He also advised me on the type of paints that I should use and even helped me choose colors. John went over what prep work should be done and how they would do it, always being considerate of cost. The crew (Goob and JIm) started working as soon as they walked in the door. They went about their work in a meticulous manner, kept the work area neat and always cleaned up before leaving for the day. They were well mannered, polite and I felt safe having them in my home. I had all the rooms in my 3 bedroom home painted so they were with me for awhile. John would go over each room with me even using a big light to make sure every inch of wall was done properly. He was very patient with me especially when I would see a shadow and not a missed spot.
