Makes commitments to work specific days, and despite several interem confirmation texts and emails from the customer, does not show up on the day scheduled, and does not give prior notice he doesnt plan to come that day. Mr. Spencer Hill's initial response on yelp was quick. My first impression was that he seemed cleancut and ready to do good work. He came over, handed me a card with email and phone number on it and said he was available Thursday and Friday. I said i would like to book him those days. He would give me an estimate. He sent an estimate. I said yes please. He took several days to get back to me, and then said he no longer could honor those days. He offere me monday. Although i had plan to leave the state, I again said yes please. I was only available to be there that week, and i changed my flight so i could meet him Monday. I sent some follow up messages. I sent a confirmation query the day before. He informed me the morning he was supposed to arrive to work that he couldn't come. Another problem is that he arbitrarilly wants to continue communication through the yelp platform, which is really just for finding businesses and sharing feedback. As a cultural norm, people communicate by phone, text and email for regular communication. It's weird to arbitrarilly move communication back to yelp after making phone/email/text contact. It's very odd to expect someone to use yelp like a texing platform on a continued basis. How would a customer even know to look there for ongoing messgaes? I hire a lot of workers and i have never encountered this before. It's especially odd after meeting in person and handing a customer a business card with a phone number and email on it. A business should take in to account what the customary mode of communication is, especially for the client base it serves. In particular, I feel strung along by this business at a very real cost.

Seasonal movement of the house, flexing trusses in the…read moreattic due to temperature and humidity swings, had damaged an area of the ceiling where it meets a brick chimney. Marc Carrier the owner of Drywall Concepts was recommended to me by an electrician that was working on another job in my house. I called Marc. He responded in a short period of time. He came to the house and provided an estimate. We agreed to have the work performed. He and his son made two visits to do the work within the agreed upon time frame. The work was performed very well. The paint they used after the drywall repair was done matched the shade of white of the rest of the ceiling so well that we have delayed painting the entire ceiling which we had previously considered. Marc and his son were both very professional. They removed their shoes before coming into the house. They cleaned up after the job was completed. The invoice came in at less than the estimated cost which is always a welcome event. I will call on them for future drywall or painting projects. I recommend them to others in need of drywall or painting services.

Thus began the long process of dealing with insurance and professional cleaners, but when it came time to paint, Red Ladder Painting Co made the experience seamless and most enjoyable. John helped us to navigate color choices and paint questions, and to orchestrate the process of preparing each room and its contents for painting. We were lucky that John was able to fit us into his schedule and, as busy as he is, he saw the job through to the end without a hiccup. In addition to their stellar painting skills, John and Jim took great care in sealing off rooms to avoid dust transfer and, each afternoon, they left the spaces clean, neat, and tidy. This was much appreciated, given that we were living in the house during this time. And, during this time of COVID, they took the responsibility of mask-wearing and social-distanting very seriously. In short, John and Jim made our house glow! We would not hesitate to have them back and recommend them without a doubt!

John replied promptly and met us to review the project. He was helpful with his insights about the wallpaper removal and plastering. His estimate was reasonable. He and Jim showed up on time, were quiet (no blaring music or phone calls) and kept the place clean. It being an old house, there were some surprises that John explained to us. All in all, the job was done in a most excellent fashion, the rooms look much improved. We're happy to know the walls are in better shape than when they started. The painting job is so fine, we are entirely pleased. John's estimate was reasonable and his work was excellent. I strongly recommend Red Ladder Painting.
