Ordered the chili dog. It was ok, as were the French fries. Nothing to grab your attention, but it did feed the hunger on a long drive. Funky place, vintage decor. Friendly staff . You can do worse.

    Huckleberry ice cream cone!

We were passing through and were told we needed to stop here for some huckleberry ice cream. So glad we did! The store is really unique inside, and the huckleberry ice cream was SO GOOD. We're from Texas so we really enjoyed all things huckleberry. We also decided to partake in the huckleberry Jell-O shot. They also have a very unique seating option outside. Overall, a very unique and tasty experience.

I wanted to love this place. We were visiting Wallace for the first time. I found this place on Yelp, sounded good so we stopped in. The good: food was pretty good. Burger comes dry with no sauce or mayo. Kinda weird. Mayo was not offered. Fries were good, but I wish they would just come with the burger rather than being an upgrade. Shakes were very good. The bad: the wait was way too long after we ordered. They weren't even busy. The server kept acting all frazzled which was confusing. A table that got Sat about 10 minutes after us got their food (Very similar order) about 10 minutes before we did. When the table behind us that had been sat 20 minutes after us got food I grabbed the server and asked her what was going on. She went back into the kitchen and then came running back. She had given our food to the table behind us. I doubt we will try this place again. Obviously other people have had much better experiences.

One of Wallace's better eateries. What it has going for it: - pricing on par with similar establishments - food is better than average - staff is very friendly - decor is unique What it has going against it: - could use a remodel - menu choices is rather small So the food at this place is surprisingly good. Had the supreme breakfast burrito and my wife had the huckleberry pancakes. We were both very satisfied with the portion size and the taste....so no complaints. The decor is definitely unique...it's like a yard sale threw up in this place. Seems overly cluttered. Would probably come here again if I'm the area.

Super funky, awesome place! First there's the super nice staff. NICE STAFF!!! Second there's the decor. WOW! that's SOME decor! And thirdly, but not last, nor least, the food. Wonderful dogs! I had a Chicago dog, my friend had a chili dog. YUMMY!!!! It hit the spot! OH OH OH!!!! And! They have the best, most wonderful, mouth watering, delicious, addictive, I'll drive out of my way for one, CHOCOLATE MALTS!!!! OMG! Whether you've ever had a malt or not, get one! It tastes like a super duper fly Malted Milk candy, except with 4 scoops of ice cream. Honestly, this place is so famous even aliens from outer space eat here. I'm serious! Their space ship is parked out front in the parking lot! Seriously love this little funky place!!!!

Love to eat at the Red Light when in town. Great burgers and Huckleberry Shakes, along with awesome french fries. You can even pick up Garnet Grabber traction sand and decorative rock by GMRV.PRO there.

Great stop with good burgers and fun service in an visually entertaining facility. You could spend hours looking at the walls, shelves, and ceiling. The succulent burgers came with chips and we ordered a side of fries to share. There were enough fresh and crispy fries to feed six people, their dogs, and the people at the next table. I'm afraid this place puts a serious dent in Idaho potato production. We visited with the owner, a wonderful lady with a sense of humor that lit up our afternoon. Highly recommend for a good lunch among friendly locals, spirited servers ( 5 high school girls), and by the way, really good shakes (our's was huckleberry).

    Awesome pit stop along I-90.

The Red Light Garage is one of those perfectly unique establishments one loves to come upon while traveling. The ambiance is laid back and colorful: For-sale antique chandeliers and musical instruments hang from the ceiling. Classic vinyl booths, as well as a bar provide seating options inside, while outside there's a covered deck. The walls are covered with license plates from all over. Sadly I've never had a chance to eat here as I always seem to pass through Wallace at latte time. The lattes are fab though and I have no doubts that the mexican fare, sandwiches and breakfast items are great. Homemade ice cream is another choice, with huckleberry being a local option. If you're driving by on I-90, definitely stop in for a break. Just take a right at the space ship on the corner. ;)

Wallace, Idaho --- the ONLY place I found to eat in Wallace is a GREAT place to eat! Super service, a "unique" & a tasty-riffic "huckleberry" pancake was a "Run-A-Way Bill" 1st (that I remember ) ... a WOW-riffic display of nostalgia covers the walls from floor to ceiling, including the ceiling, much of which is for sale ... a "Run-A-Way Bill" Favorite discovery day 116 "DUSA 2017" (Discover USA) "Run-A-Way Bill" was here! Dantes peak sign in the parking lot!

I love going to Wallace because I am a geologist and loved Dantes Peak. On the way home from Glacier my boyfriends family and I stopped here for some snacks and shakes. The place was packed and service was slow, but that's ok since it's a super small town and it's family run. We all got huckleberry milkshakes, which were out of this world. We also got french fries, which were honestly some of the best fries I've ever had. I can't wait to go back!

Bean burrito (half eaten) and local IPA.

Tasty straight-forward bean burrito & Vindicator IPA (Wallace, ID; heavy on bittering hops). The tortilla chips were bagged, but lets be honest, you didn't come here for that, you came for atmosphere (or because you needed gas)! And this place delivers. From the spaceship in the parking lot to the white-haired woman playing piano on the porch (along w/ another playing plastic chairs with brushes), the burrito & IPA were just bonuses. Oh, and don't forget the very tasty, old-style huckleberry shake (with real bits of huckleberry throughout). Win-win-win!

My kind of place! Had a huckleberry shake with biscuits & gravy for breakfast and a sassy but friendly waitress. Loved the decor.

Not sure how this place gets any stars. Everything comes from a package or a can. I'm pretty sure they microwaved my bacon. Bad deal here

Wallace Brewing has been open since 2008 with 8 beers in the tasting room. They have a tv and a pool table with seating inside plus 4 tables of 4 on the sidewalk. They do not sell food but outside food is welcome. Tyler was working behind the bar and he was very engaging. He told me about the brewery and some of their top sellers which are the Red Light Irish Red Ale and 1910 Black Lager. Both were very good and I ordered the 1910 - dark, malty flavors with the light to medium weight of a lager. It was great! I'm a tourist passing through, but whether you're a local or from 2,000 miles away like my family you'll find a great beer at Wallace Brewing

This is true and there are multiple signs advising so, both prior to entering and just inside the door. What's the big deal you may ask. Aside from a brewey with no food being specifically for adults not being too far out, and for those who may want to avoid (or look for it), the mens room is adorned with full playboy spreads which could be controversial for junior. So, the environment & products are targeted to adults. The interior has mining decor and pinup decor, a bar top, pool table and a few tables with chairs. The beer we had was good for one and above average for the other. The wheat (with lemon wheel garnish) was a surprisingly tasty treat. It was out of the way for us but is right off the highway, so, convenient for a lot of people & the town itself is quirky. As you can see, it's the center of the universe & they have the manhole to prove it!

They Had Jack - 'nuff said…read more... SITREP My cousin Rikka and I wanted whiskey. SETUP I found this store. Simple to find. It's on the main drag of this town, just a few blocks from the hotel we were at. The "Liquor Store." Yes, pretty generic branding, but not out of the norm in a town that also has a restaurant simply signed as "Eats" and also a furniture store called "Furniture Store" a few blocks down. [Creative names don't abound here. They should call it "El Liquor Store" just to kick it up a notch.] She paid for it (I LOVE HER). Probably a few bucks more for a fifth than what I usually pay in Seattle or she pays in L.A. (minus 1-Star), but what can you do when you are hundreds of miles "deep into the stix." [I already had the mixers back in my room.] So there you go. [Some transactions are painfully simple and don't require "fluffy linguistic skills" to relay the ambiance of a room, or the presentation of an entree.] CONVENIENT FOR THE WRONG REASON I should also say that we came back here a second time when we were at the wake (for our uncle Jack - no relation to Jack Daniels) across the street at the Elks Lodge from El Liquor Store. I still don't think Rikka's dad or my mom (Jack was their oldest brother) knew of our little trek to spike our soda's and those of so many grateful cousins.... and our parents are not yelpers... sooo... *crosses fingers*... THE LOWDOWN We wanted Jack Daniels, we found it, and we got it in St. Maries. During a moment of high emotional need. [I'm sticking with that too.]
