This is true and there are multiple signs advising so, both prior to entering and just inside the door. What's the big deal you may ask. Aside from a brewey with no food being specifically for adults not being too far out, and for those who may want to avoid (or look for it), the mens room is adorned with full playboy spreads which could be controversial for junior. So, the environment & products are targeted to adults. The interior has mining decor and pinup decor, a bar top, pool table and a few tables with chairs. The beer we had was good for one and above average for the other. The wheat (with lemon wheel garnish) was a surprisingly tasty treat. It was out of the way for us but is right off the highway, so, convenient for a lot of people & the town itself is quirky. Steve and I got to try Wallace Brewing after a recent trip through the Idaho Chimney portion of the state. I did this area a while back visiting many breweries here but a few slipped through my fingers and this was one of them so it was good to get this one marked off my list. We had the Redlight Irish Red Ale which we liked quite bit. Irish Red Ales aren't necessarily a beer type the two of us flock to but this one was very good. Flavor highlights to look for when enjoying this beer is malty, sweet and dry. The beer is also very light bodied and smooth so that, at least to us is an enjoyable plus! read more

Great beer and an amazing atmosphere. I stopped in while on a road trip and was very happy with my entire experience.

What a fun brewery! Beer was good and they had a good variety. Stumpy (one of the brewers) was so gracious, stood and spoke with our friend who likes to make beer at home. Rae'Lyn (our bartender) was so nice and very helpful (even to us out-of-townes). The other VERY impressive aspect was the spotless bathroom. Horrible experience! Our party of 8 simply opened the door with a sleeping 3 month old baby and we were immediately yelled at with hands waving NO KIDS !!!!NO KIDS!!! NO KIDS!! NO KIDS ALLOWED!!!!. The rest of our party would have loved a beer the baby could have gone else where. It was also snowing so we were stranded outside trying to decide our next move while the entire bar was empty. We would have loved to support local that's why we drove the 2 hours in. I understand a no kid policy but being so rude all of us I really don't understand! We drove through this town and the old town downtown was cute. Spotted 2 brewing company's and decided to go in one. It was not busy but it was a Monday afternoon. While taking a picture of my husband, a guy inside photo bombed our photo. We walked in and 2 guys were playing pool. I told the guy playing pool, i thought Santa was inside because that's who he looked like when he photo bombed us, lol. Bartender was great. Had a drink and chatted it up. Can't taste the marshmallows but mmmm mmmm huckleberries!!!! A must stop, the 1910 and huckleberry are to die for. This is so far my favorite Idaho brewery. Love all the beers they have something for everyone, it is in a great old building and the bartenders are happy to be there and talk about Wallace history, beer, and things to do in the area. The girl behind the bar started us on our NW Inland Ale Trail Quest, and the most fun two girls could have exploring breweries. I did not enjoy my most recent experience here at the Wallace Brewing. The bartender ignored my friend and I when we entered the establishment. She was talking to the table for a good while before she excused herself and went back to the bar to take our drink order. The establishment it self is very cool and interesting to look at. The beer "center of the universe" is awful and I would not recommend it. This place left a bad taste in my mouth, I wish I had chosen a different bar to grab a beer. read more

Came over Lookout Pass, heading West, hit a patch of ice in the shadows on what appeared to be bone-dry pavement. Car went this way and that and after I straightened her up went by 5 cars and trucks on the shoulder who did not fare as well as The Baron. Everyone was outside of their cars/trucks and were just standing there, apparently waiting for help/tow-trucks. Not a good idea, as that's exactly were my final resting place would have been had I not regained control. Was does this have to do with the Wallace Brewery, you ask? A pint of Wallace is exactly what you need, if you find yourself in a similar situation, to calm yourself down after almost meeting your maker. Thanks, Wallace Brewery, I needed that pint! Stopped one day during the week for drinks. The place was empty yet the service was terrible. A lady came in with two dogs that had full run of the place. Running table to table, begging for scraps, and chewing squeaky toys. Super annoying. A few other patrons stopped in while we were there but exited abruptly likely just as annoyed as we were. The bartender seemed totally occupied with the dog owner (local regular I assume).. she could even be bothered to wait on us or be attentive enough to bring our check when we were ready. This is one of my favorite micro-breweries around, and by around I mean in the North West. Their are several varieties that satisfy my beer needs! Some of my favorites are: Huckleberry Shandy, RedLight Irish Red Ale, 1910 Black Lager, and Vito. On top of good beer they also have pretzels ready to eat at the bar. I also like that the brewing area is visible through windows and not hidden in the back somewhere. This is worth a visit, even if it's your only reason to pull off of I-90. Oh yeah, they don't allow anyone under 21 inside, but the restaurant next door does serve their beer if you have minors with you (it does cost more though). read more

The decor is geared toward the history of Wallace and seating is roomy with a pool table, dart board, corn hole etc! Dog friendly too. This a brew house - do not expect to get a serious bite of food though. The tap house is a wide open space with plenty of seating with a few comfy chairs spaced out as well. The beer options are a bit limited as they head into a holiday weekend - which seems a bit odd to me. The staff was friendly and courteous. We had a hoppy lager and the huckleberry shandy. Both were tasty. The shandy was canned and. Bit flat for my tastes - especially when right next door they had it on tap and it was bright, light, and a bit of zip to it. One thing we always enjoy are the games all around in abundance. From cards to jenga to board games. You won't be disappointed! read more

Very nice place. I tried the 7 beer flight. I found a few I liked and what I didn't care for I gave to my husband. The staff was very nice. i wish we would have stayed in town over night because this would have been the place to hang. The had games to play. You could order food from the restaurant next door and eat it at the Brewing. Bought a growler of the Huckleberry beer to go. The Huckleberry was not sweet and was very refreshing!!! read more

I love visiting breweries while traveling out West, and we sort of wandered in here after a day biking with no expectations. I picked up a fight (hefty pours!) and was amazed -- an India Pale Lager?! What even is that? (Delicious!) Four out of the four beers I had were like nothing else I've had before, and I enjoyed each and every one. Very impressed with this tasting room in the middle of a historic town. Was heading on a trip to Idaho and searching for things to do in the area, luckily came across this website which was nicely done and intrigued me with its mention of a huckleberry beer. Made the trek to the location and found it to be much larger than imagined. Complete with pool tables and a dart board, chess games, tv and very friendly staff. Did the taster and tried all the beers, very helpful beer man explained each of them to us one by one. While many of them did not sound very exciting up front they did have some tastes I am not used to encountering in my everyday beer drinking. I was excited to hear that they had recently started bottling and that one day I may be able to locate their beer in a store near me. Definetely worth a stop off if you enjoy beer and are in the area, my only complaint is a lack of food and no Sunday hours (but I guess everyone needs a day off). read more

All their beers are excellent, but the hucklebeer is a great lager with a local flare that is a must try! And the service was fantastic.
