Don't make the mistake of thinking its an ordinary place, because you'll be missing out. It's probably classified as a tourist stop -- and it is -- but it's a good place to explore, pick up a few souvenirs and kitschy mementos, but it's also a great place to meet the resident canine mascot, listen to the owner tell his maybe not-so-tall-tales, and hear a lot of behind-the-scenes discussions of local affairs. However, if you do need to a treat, a greeting card, or a hat or t-shirt (with or without a slogan), or some shoes, and you're still working your way through all the unique shops along main street and don't want to leave the area, then C.C. Legends can help you out.

However, the only memorable experiences we've had have been negative ones. When shopping there we are consistently followed around (making me feel either pressured to buy or like a suspect for theft), I've been snapped at for taking photos of clothing I'm interested in for future reference, and other members of my family have experienced flat out rudeness from the staff. I think of it as more of a place to window shop than a place to hang around.

The best part of it will be knowing these wonderful pieces are not priced outrageously. The owner explained where the pieces came from (all over the country) and what they were used for, and the wood they were made of. If there was a re-creation of an antique, he explained that as well and gave us a few pointers on how to make the distinction. Twice Touched also carries some specialty things -- lamps, vases, wall art and the like. It was a visual and tactile treat from start to finish. We could have spent a lot more time browsing this shop and look forward to a return visit. Someday.

The shop owners also helped us with our planned hike and gave us some really good advice on some additional stops since she had done the hike several times. I already had all the gear I needed but I did buy a really cool Hwy 212 baseball cap.

Mostly made in Ohio and Indiana. Solid wood. Beautiful dovetail joints. Rustic rocking chairs and some pieces made out of reclaimed barn wood. We purchased some candles and a sign for the home. Next time I need a piece of furniture I'll come back. The outdoor furniture out front looks made from some no decay composites. Great quality! Nice chairs and gliders. Rockers too!
