It's probably classified as a tourist stop -- and it is -- but it's a good place to explore, pick up a few souvenirs and kitschy mementos, but it's also a great place to meet the resident canine mascot, listen to the owner tell his maybe not-so-tall-tales, and hear a lot of behind-the-scenes discussions of local affairs. It's a colorful shop with the bright colors of some leather pieces and I wasn't really expecting that. In speaking with the person working that day, it seems the owner made all the leather pieces and has been doing so for 20-30 years. She does, from time to time create custom pieces. There were some gorgeous leather bags and belts and it was difficult to not splurge beyond my budget that day. So maybe to my friends who want to get me a gift just because . . .
