DO NOT use this company. I spent over 4200 on my move (including 13 months storage) and I'm being ghosted by the owner, Adam Berg. Issues include overcharging, damages, and missing items including my mattress. I am severely handicapped and left without one until resolved. My property was pulled out of storage and delivered to my new home August 2, they were almost 5 hours late, no one answering the phone. Items were damaged, furniture scratched, soft items with yellow water staining, boxes and bags torn or broken. The move in was just over and hour, they tried to charge me for 1 extra hour before arriving and after, $909, after quoting $650-825 over the phone. It took less time than he quoted. My mattress and multiple other items were not delivered, but I was promised they saw them at the warehouse and we're going right back for them. The owner was on the phone directing his team to leave for the next job instead. I had the word of the man delivering. I was pushed to pay or the clock would keep ticking (and charging) until I did. It is August 15th and no word from Adam Berg or anyone else at Red Mile. My items have yet to be delivered, over charges for having to sort through my items that were mixed with another customers were not addressed. Additional time at the warehouse and at my house were charged. Phone calls, emails, Facebook, Kijiji, Google, etc ads we're going up but no response to my requests for contact on any platform. I tried driving to all three addresses I found online, two only post codes, and could not find them. I now see he changes the address on each ad. I had requested the address when I sent my items to storage last year and was given an address that does not exist. He had assured me his storage was insured and now I doubt that. I followed their terms and conditions and filed a complaint within 3 days, I still have no response 2 weeks later. I am severely handicapped and they left me without a place to sleep, and I cannot afford to replace those items after being charged for their additional time and the move. I called Red Mile, spoke with Adam and he advised me that my move would be approximately 4 hours with 2 men. Since I have used Red Mile with every move since 2006 and refereed many many friends and co-workers he offered me a reduced rate. I was happy with that. Two movers and a 17 foot truck. Discounted rate for this options was $89 per hour plus one hour travel time. 2-3 hours we would have a 3-4 hour bill or a price range of $267 - $356!! Perfect!!! Wanting to minimize how long I would be out doors, chose to go with 3 men instead of 2. Got a new quote and it would be 26$ or so more an hour. Two guys showed up not 3, no one bothered to call me to let me know that there had been a change, I had to ask them why only two, he could not find a sitter, We are dealing with a crises medically so I totally got that. Back story..5 years ago they moved me from a one bedroom to a two bedroom condo, using an elevator that was not reserved - 4 hour move. I did suffer some damage it was minimal and just replace the part that was lost. Jumping forward...Same content, same furniture, same moving company with an elevator that was reserved..took 6.5 hours. Towards the end additional men showed up, asked why they were here, they advised that my movers were supposed to be helping them with another move. I was grateful because I was now concerned how high this supposed 4 hour move would cost me. One of them actually remembered me because they were one of the amazing duo that moved me the last time. I want it notedj that my current movers were wonderful, very professional, amiable, polite, courteous, very helpful and even offered to place 2 boxed in the front of the vehicle because there was no room in the back . Issue is the lack of speed and them stating that the slates were already lose, they were not but I dont really care about that, bit of epoxy or contact cement will fix that. My greatest issue is with Adam's response to my emailed concern. Adam identifies as the owner of Red Mile Movers in a previous review. I sent him an email, was polite precise, admitted to keeping the movers waiting for 20 minutes while I went to the bank. Instead of acknowledging my concerns he sent me statistics, justifications, and excuses, commenting that he sent me his best movers. I really dont care about all that. All I wanted from him was to have him acknowledge that my move went waaaay to long, potentially refund part of my cost, why he could not take a moment to call me to tell me that my 3rd mover could not make it. A good customer service gesture would have been to simply acknowledge my concerns period!!! I got none of the above, instead he offered my friend 10% of her move. How does that compensate me? From my personal experience I would strongly suggest you choose another moving company. Owner will treat you with absolute indifference! Adam I will never recommend your company to another co-worker, stranger or friend again. I figure you got an extra 200 from me, good for you, you will loose even more with the amount of people I would have continued to send your way. read more

REALLY Bad experience So, i would recommend that you give these guys a second look before hiring them. I contracted them on a fix cost basis for packing moving and unpacking. They made a ridiculous mess of things, left about 15% of random belongings behind, damaged walls, left their drink bottles and food wrapper on the floor, left all the light on at the previous house and the had the nerve of pressuring me into giving them a 20% tip. Trying to get resolution and i have been given the run around, staff claiming that the owner is not there but when someone calls 5 minutes later he picks up the phone... my advice: STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS... I have about 50 pictures of the mess they made. not impressed!!! Can i submit that they deserve LESS than 1 star? read more

We hired them to move our belongings from Calgary to Winnipeg in July. A large cube truck arrived at our house and they loaded it all in. Since we didn't have a new house yet they said they would store our items in a storage facility. When we gave them our new address they arrived with a pick up truck and a small trailer. Clearly not large enough for all our belongings. When we asked where the rest of our stuff was they said they didn't have room so they left it behind. we called Adam and he didn't answer. we also emailed and he didnt get a response right away. The next day he emailed to say our belongings would come in the next truck and we wouldn't be charge an additional fee. It was almost the long weekend so he would get back to us after that. He haven't, he has ghosted us. He won't answer his phone and his mail box is full, he also won't respond to email. we just want our personal belongings back and our kids want their toys!! read more

I hired Red Mile Moving to pick up some furniture at a friend's condo and deliver it to me at my condo. Both my friend and I found the two movers to be friendly and professional. They were curious, efficient, and very careful with both the furniture and the walls, elevators, etc. Would definitely recommend and happily use again. read more

Hi. If I could give less than one star I would. I got a quote, was leaving a stressful situation. Two trucks and three guys showed up. They smelled like booze and pot and had a seriously bad attitude. They actually left my house with an empty truck and charged me For mileage. My quote was 600-900$ and ended out at 3300. What really bothered me is that my 18 year old daughter was helping me and they were absolutely disrespectful to her. They were surly and angry to me, and were fairly intimidating for a female household leaving a bad situation. I would not recommend this moving company unless you are a bunch of guys moving from a frat house to real life. No woman should call this company for service as they did a very poor job of the move, and customer service was horrible. After we settled I realized that they tore the walls and caused a lot of damage in my new house. I did not outside this as I wanted nothing to do with them. Don't do it, is all I can say. read more

NEED A NEGATIVE STARS OPTION These guys screwed up my entire move. They were supposed to come to my house for 9 AM with three guys and a large truck. I called them at 9:45 AM because there was still no movers at my house. They said that their truck was having problems that morning so he would go and see if they could rent one and he would call me back in 45min. 1 hr 10min later I called them once again and they informed me they couldn't get a truck and we would have to try again tomorrow. We had to be out of our house THAT DAY. I had called twice before the move date to confirm but yet they still left me high and dry. The move was in cochrane so they should have been starting that truck by at least 8:30am to head out. Why was it that I had to call them at 9:45? Pretty sure my 3 year old could do a better job running a company. read more

I have mixed feeling about this company. We hired them to complete our move and while the movers themselves were polite, great to deal with and very efficient, they did not bring a big enough moving truck. We had to end up completing the move ourselves in our vehicles the next day. They also damaged a piece of furniture (which I completely understand happens sometimes during a move) but it was the way it was handled that I have an issue with. They were quick to deny they had caused the damage and said it was there previous when it was not. It was our coffee table that we look at every day and you could tell it was fresh damage as there was wood dust still sitting on top of the table from it. I was advised to contact the owner/manager. I left a message for the person that I booked the move with and waited for a few days. I did not hear anything back so I called again and was told the message was not received. I was told to send pictures of the damage and I did right after the phone call. It has been a week and I have still heard nothing back. The tone definitely changed after the move was completed and now I feel like I am just left hanging and do not expect to get a response from this company. read more

This company is horrible. The two guys that came to move complained the whole time about how hung over they were. When I hadn't seen them for a while so went to go check up on them I found them lying in the back of their truck smoking. It took them 5 hours to do what I'm sure my 82 year old grandma could have done in two. To top it all off at my new house I put my dogs in the back yard so they wouldn't be in the way. They put a table in the back yard and left the gate wide open. Luckily I went to my car and saw my dogs wandering around the neighbours yard. read more

I booked with Red Mile after a great recommendation from my brother and his wife. Adam booked me in to move for the following Sunday, and gave me a verbal quote of $297, as I was moving relatively little to a 1 bedroom apartment. Come moving day, no one showed up or bothered to answer my phone calls. I ended up having to ask my parents to help, as it was my only day off and I was relying on the movers to do it. The next day, no one returned my calls, and instead I had to contact them myself. Adam told me that he had me booked in for a different Sunday, apologised, rebooked me for the following day after work, and offered me a discount for being so understanding. The guys who ended up doing my move for me were polite and fast. But one of them ended up telling me that no, I was definitely scheduled for the correct day, they just didn't bother showing up or calling me. Naturally, I was pretty pissed off to hear this, and when I contacted Adam to give him the opportunity to fix the situation he told me that "he didn't think that was what happened" and that "he had nothing more to say". In the end, even with the 10% discount, they charged me well over $300 to move half of the stuff I had originally been quoted on (as me and my parents did the majority of it on my original moving day). I'm not impressed at all with this company's lack of professionalism and integrity, and wouldn't recommend them at all. read more

We have used Red Mile movers twice in the past and didn't think twice to hire them when we needed movers again. This time around when they showed up late to my booked day they walked around the home checking everything that needed to be moved. Once they started they informed me that a lady called crying that she booked the wrong month and needed movers today so they double booked themselves. This turned into me getting short changed and the guys rushing to the point when things were dented dinged and scratched. Of course they wrap things so you don't see their damage to complain at the time. They decided half way through loading they would be unable to take all of my home contents but offered to come back Sunday night to move the rest...really Sunday night. So that would have put me 2 days without all of my things. Then came the $1100 bill which I wouldn't have had such a hard time swallowing had the moved all my things. So now I've spent the last 2 days moving the rest of my things in my car load per load. I applaud whoever this woman was for using tears to get what she needed and left me high and dry with 3/4 of my house moved. Red Mile did a great job roping us into thinking they were the movers to hire. Long story short they chose a referred customer over a repeat customer. Bad customer service on your part. read more
