Jacqueline is very talented and a hoot to chat with. She has a great balance of giving a detailed haircut while not making you spend all day in the chair. I got a razor shave on the neckline and she makes you feel good about your new cut as your wrapping up. I'll be going back for sure. $18 for a mans haircut. I found this place via yelp and gave it a try. The barber was super friendly and talkative. I explained to her what I wanted for a haircut and she knew exactly what to do. I was fortunate enough to experience no waiting but customers started coming while my hair was being cut. She puts some nice finishing touches on at the end to make the cost almost worth it. I will only be in St George for 6 months and will most likely go to her again but I really need to figure out how to cut my own hair. Actually got a bad hair cut, rushed service, and in accurate phone call about wait times. The barber, an older nice lady, was trying to take on too many customers by herself. Just be honest and say you don't know how long the wait is. I sat around for over an hour when she said somewhere around 20 minutes. And she took a huge chunk out of my beard, took a while to recover. Mostly just trying to do more than is reasonable. read more

Just got another terrific cut from Jaqueline at Red Mountain Barbershop. She's extremely attentive to her customers' wants and needs and is extremely skilled, having learned to cut hair over in Europe where she grew up. She's fast and efficient, but never rushed. When I arrived today, there were three people ahead of me. The wait was about half an hour. It's always worth the wait at this place. Plenty of magazines to read (mostly about cars) while you're sitting on a couch or upholstered chair in the waiting area. A relaxed place to get a good cut and good conversation. As you drive down Saint George Boulevard, you may glimpse upon a sign advertising Red Mountain Barbershop. As I have driven by there so many times, the sign always seemed to stand out. I was going to find out, despite my initial perceptions, that this is no ordinary barber shop. I was looking for a great place to get a haircut, and after writing off just about all the other shops in town, I decided that I would just try this one, basically because it was convenient. My mind pictured an old traditional shop where the men gather and discuss the latest happenings of the area. Much of what I had predetermined about this shop was to be wrong. I found Instead a shop that is owned and operated by a very accomplished stylist. Jaqueline was able to 'read my hair' and cut accordingly, thus accomplishing one of the best haircuts I have had in a long time. Personally, I would expect to pay a lot more for the quality of service, attention to detail, and talent that is provided by this shop. The price is very reasonable, and the result looks amazing, like I paid a lot more than it actually cost. It was also very interesting to hear about how the shop was recently purchased and how that transpired. I feel very comfortable giving this shop 5 stars for all the well balanced aspects that make it a unique place to get a decent haircut at a very fair price. Wow,wow,wow I have been spoiled by the same barber back in Vegas for the last twenty five years and swore I wouldn't even try to find one here in SG. BUT, Christmas is just around the corner and I didn't have time to get back to my Vegas barber so I checked the interweb and found Jacqueline's shop, called her to see if she took appointments, she said not during the week and to just drop by anytime and she'd get me in and out quickly. Found this little barbershop on Yelp. I'm a part time resident here in STG and haven't had good luck finding a good barber. Seems like most shops are either national chains where you never know the person cutting your hair or what kind of a cut you'll get, or hair cutters with a shop in their home with kids and toys strung around or the shop goes out of business only after a few months. Red Mountain is different. It's in a no nonsense little location with one excellent barber. I've gone there 3 times now. All three times while having been away from STG for an extended time.
