Seek an alternative to United Granite and avoid hate and discontent in the future!…read more I'll try to keep offer you an abridged and more detailed review, depending on what kind of reader you are. Contributors who get too emotional and write long rants about a business or service are generally dismissed. Plus, if you're lazy, like me, you won't read anything that's too long. The most important takeaway is that I'm presenting facts, not opinions. So, I highly suggest that if you are in need of natural/stone materials (marble and granite), you read this review and consider avoiding United Granite. I've had nothing but trouble with United Granite from the jump. For those who are impatient, lack the time to read a long review, or haven't taken their Adderall, here's the short version. - Customer Service: Poor (UG doesn't stand by their work, doesn't stand by their products/materials, and repeatedly told me why they couldn't correct the problems I was having with my new granite surround while continually reminding me that I was lucky to get the purchase price I received for this particular type of granite because the price per square foot increased since the original purchase date. What are those problems? Two cracks. One upon installation, which they did a reasonable job collecting, and the second, appearing for no discernible reason at all over the holidays. Strangely, this second crack was in the flat horizontal cross-piece of granite at the top of the surround. When I contacted UG about this, they said there was nothing they were willing to do, and essentially refused to send anyone out to even take a look at the issue and try to correct it) - Tech/Installer Proficiency: Below Avg (template technician was totally lost and the installers made excuses as to why they couldn't or wouldn't do things that I've since learned are simple and rudimentary for a fireplace surround installation. And oh, yeah - they cracked a piece of granite while installing it) - Quality of Installation: Poor (installer cracked the floor slab in front of the hearth on day one. UG had to dispatch yet another technician to fill the crack and re-polish the slab. Of everyone I dealt with, this particular technician seemed to be the only one who really knew what he was doing, and his work was satisfactory) - Quality of Materials/Products: Poor (most of the detail about my issues with the granite are above, but how ridiculous is it that they offer granite that is so flimsy that it cracks upon installation, and cracks again for absolutely no apparent reason at all? What's more, why would UG increase the price of granite that is so fragile that it can't even support itself when affixed to a wall? I have since learned that the reason the price went up was more for UG's convenience than because of the actual 'high quality' of the granite. One of their customer reps disclosed to me that this particular type of granite was a real pain to deal with because it was so fragile. OK, well then why is UG even offering it to customers, and why did they increase the price by nearly 50%?) Bottom line - look elsewhere for your granite Bottom line: Consumers should avoid purchasing materials or paying for services provided by United Granite. Failing to do so would be a frustrating and costly mistake easily avoided by seeking more dependable and reputable alternatives for their granite and tile needs. They're not the only game in town, and as I mentioned above, spending a few more dollars per square foot will help you avoid a lot of hate and discontent in the future.

The day of, after it was confirmed 310 times that the window was 3pm-6pm, suddenly at 11:50am, it's going to arrive within 30 minutes. Fine! Luckily I happened to be home, because within 90 seconds my doorbell rings and this sole, small guy, who barely speaks a lick of English is there to deliver my sofa and literally the first 2 things he tries to cover to me are 1) I need you to help me and 2) you need to pay me for this Sorry wtf? I'm a 100lb woman. I cannot help you carry a 300+lb couch into my house lol why on earth are you ALONE? Esp when you don't speak any English, sir!? Secondly, you're asking me to give you a tip to do your job? Idk if my MIL failed to tell me that this would be an expectation or not, and I really wouldn't mind tipping the guy, except for, I have no cash on me! I never ever carry cash and certainly wasn't expecting for someone to ask me for it. Being alone, with a stranger, at dusk, asking me for money made me unfathomable uncomfortable. Even though there did not end up being an issue, this is NOT something I should have to anticipate. The couch itself is fine. I don't understand why this gentleman if you could call him that, was ever assigned to this task alone. wtf would have happened if this piece of furniture that came in 3 giant pieces, mind you, needed to go upstairs???? LITERALLY PHYSICALLY it would have been IMPOSSIBLE. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT??? 10/10 BS if you ask me, I'm glad I didn't pay for this crap myself or I'd be demanding an effing refund for the liability alone wtf

What you shouldn't believe is management's standard cut and paste apologies posted on this site. I bought $5000 worth of product there. I've called the manager three times in one week. This Williams-Sonoma is located at The Streets of Southpoint shopping mall in Durham. It's inside the older part of the mall, on the first floor (ground level) in the center, near the escalators (and Christmas tree during the holidays). This location isn't as big as our home location at Ponce City Market in Atlanta (understandably so). At the time of writing this review, the only other Williams-Sonoma location in the Triangle is at Fenton in Cary. The next closest is probably at Friendly Center in Greensboro. In our experience, the customer service at this location wasn't the best. The employees were older and stuck in their ways. For example, they didn't know how to use the computer/technology meant for them. Yikes. That made things a bit slower and more difficult. They were nice and friendly enough, though.

Over the years, we've gotten small kitchen gadgets here and some cookbooks but not any real major purchases. It's sad that the Sur La Table in the same mall closed, because that gave you more options to shop and compare. My most recent experience was ordering two crystal champagne flutes online and picking them up in the store. I guess I could have called from the parking lot but I wanted to step into the store and inspect them instead of having someone bring them all the way out to the parking lot. I'll still pop in most every time I'm in the mall though, just to see what new they have or are featuring.

Is it weird that I think of our cabinetmaker often?…read more I ponder this question a lot, usually, after I've reached in our exquisite soft-close kitchen cabinet for an item and have taken a step back to admire the gorgeousness of our kitchen remodel. I think about how grateful I am that we hired Joseph as our cabinetmaker. Not only is he a kindly man and a pleasure to work with, he brought with him mad skills and years of expertise. He made excellent suggestions about the design and function of the kitchen, was attuned to the smallest details, generous with his time and professionalism, and his fees are very reasonable for the quality of his work. He offers custom cabinetry, pre-fab cabinets, or what we chose, sort of a mix-and-match customized option with pre-fab cabinetry. The quality is excellent, the wood is not at all cheap nor flimsy, but seems to be very durable and long-lasting. I also learned a new contractor's term due to Joseph's work. It was uttered by our appliances delivery man. He was so sure that our appliances were not going to fit in the spaces provided. Lo and behold, the appliances slid in perfectly! The guy was duly impressed and stated that he almost never sees such precise TOLERANCES. As such, there are no gaping spaces around all of our appliances, no fallen crumbs into the black-hole crevasse that usually resides next to the stove. The cabinetry is perfectly precise, unified with the appliances and countertops, and just so pretty. All of this is to say, that I highly recommend Pacific Cabinetry and yeah, I'll probably be standing in our kitchen for years to come still appreciating all Joseph's hard work. ***FYI-- his correct website is https://www.pacificcabinets.net. I don't believe it's the one they currently have listed here: pacificcabinetsnc.com that has seemingly hijacked his listing ****

Everyone was super professional and did a quality work from the installer to the person who did my custom glass. So what brought on this 5-star review all-of-a-sudden, you ask? Well, about two months ago, the floor pan (also plastic) started to bubble up. After calling, one of the Bryton crew came out and found that it was "de-laminating". He told us that it was all good since it was warranted for Life! To make a longer story short.. the guys were out within a few weeks, ripped out the entire shower, and installed a brand new replacement. And they did all of this with a big smile on their faces, as if they were really happy to have us as customers! Needless to say, we no longer feel so bad about the initial cost. It is worth it in the long run if this is the level of customer service to expect! Thank you Bryton's and Staff...
