I ordered a large bouquet to try and ensure, to get as many of the flowers and colors I was asking for! They said "ok" "perfect" "absolutely" "we can do everything you're asking for!!" SO, much to my surprise when I show up the next day to pick it up, so I can surprise her with it as she gets home from work!!! Not only does it NOT have the ONE particular flower that I asked for (that they said they could absolutely get) it doesn't have the colors I asked for, it has more "filler plants" like branches and just leaves than ACTUAL flowers! AND they went way over my budget!! I know that I shouldn't have paid for the bouquet, but I had 30 minutes before my wife got home. So save your money and time! Don't go here!

Life comes at you fast in ways you don't expect. I would have never though that I would need a…read moreflorist in Payson, but when an old friend had a sudden death in the family, a group of us rallied to try to do what we could to show support for her in that difficult time. Many of us live in far flung parts of the world--as far away as India--and so I called Karen's to see if we could arrange to have everyone in our group call in and pay whatever they wanted to donate. Originally this was a great idea, and they were amenable, but we quickly realized the funeral was a day sooner than I had thought, and we didn't have enough time. In fact, it was the following morning from my phone call, and they were amazing to step up and agree to not only do the arrangement but also to have it delivered to the service in the morning. We were talking at around 5pm, and they committed to have it to the church the next morning by 11am or so. Huge thanks for the fast turnaround, flexibility, and for agreeing to help out. In the end, it's hard to fully judge the whole experience, as I never got to see the finished product. I'm told by our friend that it did indeed arrive, so I'm grateful as can be. I dunno how it looked. I'm quite particular about flowers, as it turns out, and so I just hope it was a nice, full arrangement. I don't mind the express deliver fee we were charged, and we certainly didn't get a deal on flowers, but for what I needed, in my long distance situation, I was just grateful they would work with me. One thing--I did try to stop by on December 26 as it was serendipitous that I would be passing through Payson that day and I wanted to make the arrangements then, but they were closed. I was there during business hours but it was locked and dark; I imagine it was a holiday break? I found them here on Yelp and you can Request a Quote here on the site (praise be!) but I wish they had used the "Special Hours" feature to show a variance from their regular hours and I would have just tried to call the next day instead of stopping by.

The colors were correct and they were done on time, they just weren't 'fantastic' as described by others. Upon submitting a review on the other site the vendor disputed it and I realized the reason there was only 5 star reviews was because the business disputes all others. Not very professional. The flowers were pretty and photographed well but my daughter requested peonies and only the day before was notified they would not be in the bouquet. The wrist corsages were too tight. Overall I give a fair 3 star review for 'good job', 'nice effort'.

One service I really liked was their video coverage of the ceremony, speeches, and dances. We decided to forgo a videographer, and part of the Scarlet Oak package we chose included a stationary recording of the most intimate parts of the wedding. This alone was worth the price of their service. The photos we received were great, and we enjoyed them very much. I also must applaud their professionalism when dealing with our guests. Gathering our friends and family for photos was like herding cats, but they kept a smile on their faces the entire time and treated everyone with respect. Our only real problem was that we felt we were taken away from the reception for far too long. During our pre-wedding call with Bonnie, we went over which guests we wanted portraits with. We assumed these could all be taken during cocktail hour (we chose not to do a first look, so no photos besides the bride and bridesmaids were taken before the ceremony). In hindsight, perhaps that was unrealistic, but I wish Bonnie would have advised us otherwise. She also asked us during the call when we wanted to do our golden hour portraits of just the two of us. This was a strange question for me because, at any wedding where I had been a groomsman, the bride and groom did not do this. However, my wife liked the idea, and Bonnie assured me it would only take 10-15 minutes. This was not the case at all. After all the dances and speeches, we were ready to enjoy the night with our guests, but the photographers told us this was the time to go take our portraits. It took almost an hour to get them done, and although they came out great, we were extremely dismayed to lose that time with our guests. We could literally hear songs we had specifically requested from the DJ playing on the dance floor, and we didn't even get to enjoy them. It really took the wind out of our sails, and I wish we could have had that time back. By the time we returned, they wanted us to cut the cake, and we did that as quickly as we could. After those photos were finished, my wife and I looked at each other and headed straight to the dance floor to make up for lost time. If I could go back, I would have handled the photos very differently. As previously mentioned, some of our friends and family did not make it easy for the crew to knock out photos quickly during cocktail hour, but I would have gathered our parents, siblings, and wedding party, gone to a secluded area away from the rest of the crowd, and knocked out all of the group portraits and our formals during cocktail hour. All other photos could have been taken casually at the reception. Would I recommend Scarlet Oak? Yes. They had great customer service, worked very hard at the event, and provided a great product. But be very clear with your expectations and what you want. We felt we clearly communicated our desire to enjoy our reception during the pre-wedding call, but it did not happen that way. Be a good communicator, make sure they are a good communicator, and this crew will be solid for your wedding.
