This was a phenomenal stop for the night! everything was better that expected. We camped for the night and enjoyed the hot spring pool for the night, also used the hot tub in the morning. We arrived early, were allowed to go to our room (although, we were prepared to wait). Were given the biggest room in the hotel (5 beds), there were only 3 of us, my husband, myself and our grandson. The rooms are mediocre, you can see the age in them. The plug in the bathroom did not work, had to use a plug by the front door to charge phones AND curl my hair. The pool was full (and I mean FULL) of algae, my grandson and I cleaned some of it out while he swam. Got up at 5 the next morning, my husband waited until 6 to try to get some coffee. The office was locked, one of the owners came to the door and basically said it was too early and the coffee was not on yet. A couple of hours later, I took my g-son to swim and was told that the coffee was on. I grabbed close to the last bit from the pot, was told they would start another so I text my husband that coffee was on. Half an hour later, he came for coffee... there was NOT a fresh pot and he accepted the dregs from the bottom (with grounds). Before we left, about an hour later, he went for more coffee with his personal coffee cup and was met with "you're not going to FILL that up, are you". Mind you, it was NOT a large cup. To top it off, we were billed a tip on our final bill that put our bill OVER $300! All that for 1 night, for 3 people and I didn't even have a second cup of coffee! We did go down the road for breakfast. I had been to Red River Hot Springs many times over the years, as had my family (my parents honeymooned there in the 50's). One of the best hot springs in Idaho. I have seen this facility improve slowly but surely over the years. The new owners have done a fantastic job and truly care about the place. If you are considering an adventure to a remote hot springs this is the one for you. Beautiful scenery and well paved road on the drive out. We had the whole pool and soaking tubs to ourselves. Minimal to no sulfur smell and great changing areas/showers. Did not have the food, but check out the menu, lots of options. read more

The photos on their Facebook page are fake. If you don't care about clean rooms then you won't mind. Family owned and the teenagers don't really want to be there. Hotspring pool was green and filthy. Parents leave in the evening and let the teen girls manage the place. NOT A SMART THING TO DO. read more

Delightful hot springs and winter retreat. Rented a cabin for the weekend with one other couple, cabins have propane heater so stayed warm. Three great soaking tubs and a warm pool. We brought our own food for lunch and dinner, ate their breakfast which was good dinner style. Under new management October 2020. Great hospitality, affordable, excellent experience. Would recommend for anyone looking to get away into the woods. read more

Terrible service, we reserved a room 5 weeks in advance. When we arrived they didn't have it available. They were rude about it and left us basically stranded after driving 4 hours. Not good people! read more

This place was fantastic!! The owners bent over backwards for our large party going above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. Food was good, pool was great, rooms very big! I do want to note that this lodge is operating off-the-grid using solar, generators and propane so if you are expecting a high-falutin, ritzy, prissy poodle dog accommodations and stay...you best look elsewhere. Red River Hot Springs is down to earth people, friendly, low stress and if it works, it works and if it doesn't, oh well....have another beer and relax!
