You pull up in a boat, order a drink and maybe a pork tenderloin sandwich (Iowa has more than tall handsome men and corn, there is the dairy industry and pork) easy to split in two and share. Or, y'know hog all to yourself. As I do. They have pizza and even Mac and cheese for picky youngsters. And they also placate hungry grown patrons... Best if all when they have live bands playing music that leans towards country and classic rock. I'm down with that! If you aren't get in your boat and leave- but be sure to tip your server. When we were here one waitress seemed to be holding down this entire joint, with a spring in her step and a memory for everyone's name- no small feat! Last, there are large recycling bins up front- The contents of which are redeemed to put on a fireworks show on the Fourth of July that is spectacular when viewed from the marina or on your boat in the water. So don't trash when you can recycle and enjoy a show for it!

The people started to come in and check out the beach. I wandered inside the marina and they have snacks, sunscreen, bait and more goodies. A little of everything you could want or need for a day at the beach/park. The ladies inside working were very kind and sweet. We were close by and had rented the shelter for the day. The ladies said it was a quieter day due to the rains from yesterday chased most away. But it turned out to be a perfect day.

Not remembering I had Kimble replaced I took the new hinklims out fits word for it. the daid they replaced new Kimble this June I go to lake Okoboji June 30th put boat in water backed off trailer and the most awful chattering noise I ever heard came about every time I turned half way to the right or left, get to the place I was staying this was Sunday. These guys are not open on Dunday or Monday I sent note via website as to what was taking place. They did call me Tuesday I was at Arnold's Park could no hear so called back on Wed AM. Thalled to repair shop and they stated the no longer work on boats older than 2008. so why did you work on my 1990 BAJA ? I ask are you going to fix my boat since you were the ones who broke it? No they told me. my boat was also now taking in water never ever did I have this problem before and my trim when trimming it hourly was making a new noise. These people are very rude and I am not so sure they are not crooks. I will be taking to a new person this week to find out what is wrong and then to my lawyers. I will follow up on this as soon as I get my boat checked out as to what these people did to it or didn't do that cause me all this pain. Wrecked my vacation! DrDavis DSMIA

I have to say that I guess a restaurant is better than no restaurant at all but then what good is a restaurant if they are always closed? Numerous times we've been boating up here and they are either closed or closing early. And when they are open, their menu is extremely limited. But I will tell you that the times that I've been able to get a meal here their sandwiches are delicious. I would recommend but don't count on it being your only option - have a back up plan in case they are closed. I would def call first.

My review of Mid River Marine, North Liberty, Ia - Never EVER EVER EVER have them work on your boat…read moreor keep your boat there! I hit a log underneath the water and it broke my prop. I asked them to take a look and replace the prop, Rick (so-called manager) quoted $75 to do that. They ordered the parts and the parts company sent them the incorrect hub kit. Guess what, more labor they want to charge ME because they had to turn the boat around again and found out it was the incorrect part! They said "Well it's not our fault". Then charge the parts company, not ME! It's not my fault either! They finally installed the prop, spun it, and it was hitting the housing, the prop shaft was bent. They wrote up the estimate "Estimate to repair damaged lower unit and prop" 2.3 hrs! No reason it should take that long to write up a repair estimate if you know anything about the motor you are working on. Yes, it also included pulling the boat out of the water. Their total estimate to repair my lower unit was $3517.81. The insurance company only valued my motor at $2500. Trying to figure out ways to get the costs down I asked Rick what if the labor doesn't take as long, can you charge me less. He refused said they will charge what they quoted! After doing more research I found I could buy the parts I needed for the re-build $900 cheaper than they were charging me (about an 80% mark-up)!! I bought the parts on-line told Rick I would bring them in and they refused to use them (it's against their policy, with an 80% mark-up on parts I guess I would make it against my policy too). I spoke with 4 different marinas that handle Johnson motors and they quoted a maximum of 4 hours to tear apart and rebuild the lower unit. MidRiver Marine quoted 8.19 hrs. We decided to get our boat out of there and settle up with them and they are telling me my bill is around $1000.00!!!! My labor cost for the whole job, complete lower unit rebuild was $1111.94. Tell me I'm not royally getting ripped off!! I offered to settle for labor to complete the estimate and 2 hours for tearing apart the lower unit (which those hours have been backed up by other marinas) for a total of $368 and he said that wouldn't even come close. I told him I was going to report him to the Better Business Bureau and get an attorney. He said "They will get their money one way or another (wonder what that means), do what I have to do" and hung up on me! (ha, ha, ha, great customer service) All the other marina's I talked to laugh and said we are being taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor if you don't have extra money to be padding THEIR pockets find somewhere else to take your boat!!
