A supervisor did reach out to me after I posted this review, and apologized for the mix up, and informed me she had spoken with the people who gave me misinformation in order to correct any future issues. This supervisor had taken the time to review my correspondence with the Red Rocks CSR as well as the calls I made to the "call center" and agreed things were not handled as they should have been, and has taken steps to ensure it doesn't happen that way again. Absolutely Furious! I have been a member since 2005 and just learned that the $5.00 monthly charge I have been incurring for the last 21 years (252 months, $1,260) was a result of a service they offered that I am not using, and not just a monthly fee for having a checking, savings, and overdraft accounts! I called to ask for a refund and I was told that I agreed to this fee in 2005 when I signed up for my accounts! I trusted this credit union. I have closed ALL Accounts with this bank and will NEVER use them again!!! read more

These people are THIEVES, and don't ever use their ATM. I used their co-op drive-thru ATM to make a cash deposit. Their machine took my money, it didn't credit my account or give me my money back, and just cancelled the transaction without a reciept or anything. I opened a dispute through my own credit union, and Red Rocks never acknowledged taking my money and now it doesn't look like I'll get it back. Criminal thieves as far as I'm concerned. read more

It's kind of weird to review a credit union. I would never have thought about it if it hadn't popped up as "to review." It's a small credit union. This is their only branch. They don't have a lot of "big bank" stuff, which is sort of the point. If you call the main number, you get a real person who works here and not someone across the country or not even in the country. They have a couple of gimmicks that makes them a great place to start out a teenager like "Reverse Tier Savings" which has an even higher rate on the first $2,000 than that sketchy bank with no branches that they saw on a YouTube ad. The tellers will talk to them and take them seriously especially if there isn't a line out the door. They don't always have CD promos, but when they do, it's totally worth it. Their base checking is free (but the checks are definitely not! order those from Costco or something) and if your credit is good they have really good rates on their loans. There's no Capital One coffee bar, or whatever, but tucked over on the side of the ATM is a Kurig. Close enough. read more

This particular business is engaged in several illegal and presumptive business practices, such as intentionally fouling or losing track of communications and correspondence in order to collect various types of overdraft and/or penalty fees. I would avoid doing business with them at all costs. Although their loan rates are/were very low. read more

Tyrell Miller was excellent and very helpful. I had issues with payments to Visa - was told they hadn't received checks so called RRCU on 20 Feb to do a stop payment and send two replacement checks on 21 Feb to them. In the meantime they cashed the first set of checks #2743 and #2820 and also the second set of checks #2746 and #2821...so I paid double. He took the time to go through the accounts at first trying to figure out why the stop payment had not been carried out and that was when it was discovered they had cashed both sets. His thoroughness and explanations were helpful. He also emailed me copies of the actual first set of checks so I can prove with them this situation. I am appreciative of his initiative and willing to dig into the history of this matter to help me get this resolved. If you are interested in getting a loan from RRCU, ask for Bri (Briana Lawson) who is a financial advocate. I have worked with her on a couple of occasions and she is an awesome advocate, plain & simple, bar none. Case 1: When I was trying to co-sign to help start my daughter's credit history, we worked with Bri and got my daughter a loan for a motorcycle. Never left a review before in my life but Red Rocks customer service is so horrendous I felt obligated too. Had a loan through Red Rocks for my car which was just totaled two weeks ago. So from that day on State Farm and I have called and emailed red rocks multiple times per day trying to get in touch with a representative to cut them a check for the $6000 I owe and I can get the rest to go purchase a car. I found a car to buy and I can't buy it until these fucks answer the phone. I've been walking or Ubering everywhere because I can't buy a car until they answer the fucking phone. It's ridiculous at this point. l call 3x a day. If I have to Uber to their office to get a chance to actually speak with someone I'll probably be leaving in handcuffs I'm so mad. read more

Poor customer service. I had lost my job. I had called to see about any ways to break up payments or skip a payment options. I never got a person. Instead I got an email to skip a pay form. When I had questions on it I didn't get a call back. I emailed and called multiple times no response. I sent a blank form in order to possibly prompt a call. No call. I called after 4 weeks and got a live person who stated I got a skip pay for December but needs to turn off my auto pay and didn't so I paid anyway. basically out of luck. Then explained accounting would need to get involved and on and on. After wasting my time and the poor person trying to make sense of it. I expressed my concern for their poor customer support when someone is in a time of need. No sorry just excuses for what happened was all I got. Will be looking to finance other places. read more

I have been leaving you all wonderful reviews for many years, but now I am curious to know what has happened to you guys? I called almost a month ago to report that I lost my VISA credit card. They shut it off and then I was told another card would be sent to me and expected to receive it no longer than 10 days. I waited two weeks and then I sent a message via mobile app asking when I could expect this. They replied that it doesn't look like one was sent out and if I wanted to stop by the branch, I could have one issued to me right away. I guess they failed to notice that I live 175 miles away. So I called and requested another be sent. Here it is again, two and half weeks later and it has not arrived. I again reached out via mobile app three days ago and was told it was sent out but if I wanted to go into the branch, I would be able to get another one issued. I also expressed my frustration in the lack of customer service, they apologized that this have been frustrating and they would have someone from card services reach out to me as soon as possible. Today, three days later I have not received any call. I called again, card services today (Friday) and they sent me out another card, overnight and I should receive it by next Wednesday. So, what happened to the great customer service that I used to brag to others about and how it was so great I would keep my services with Red Rocks despite my being so far? I am now wondering if it's best to just close all my accounts and move local. I am so disappointed. read more

I've been a member for over 30 years. Closing account today. They have repeatedly breached security including sending loan docs to wrong address. They advertise no fees but have service charges for everything. Tired of excuses. I suspect the level of incompetence has hurt earnings and they try to make it up by charging members for subpar service. So many good credit unions in the area. I live 30 minutes away from this location. I don't dare say branch, since that implies they have more than one. So when I drive to visit the one single atm they have and it won't accept deposits? Really?! You only have One Single ATM?! I've heard rumor that you partner with other banks and I can use their atms, but I don't dare use a canvas bank atm without having this confirmed first. Say this sentence out load, or to yourself in your head, "We only have one atm for all our customers." Sounds pretty dumb, don't it?! read more

My loan manager contacted me a few days after the loan was approved and asked if he had called me to provide that update. He hadn't. That was kind of weird but it became more interesting. He gave me details to someone else's loan and I had to advise him it wasn't me. The amount was double my request and different loan type. Finally straightened that out but they neglected to send instructions on how to open the account. Next, I was unable to get into the online portal, called for assistance and they gave me my login information. Unfortunately, again, the info wasn't for my account. They actually provided me the password and login information to another customer. No kidding. I called once again and spoke with another person at the help desk who said my name is sort of spelled like someone else's and the prior help desk person didn't compare my social or birthday. A lesser person could have drained the other customers account and there would be no easy way to figure it out. Easily the most disorganized financial institution with which I have ever interacted. And finally (or possibly finally), setting up bill pay and the page to select the account to pay shows I don't actually have a loan. I think I've been pranked. read more

Unfortunately, I have seen Red Rocks go down hill in that past few years after banking with them for over 10. You can tell their operations are in shambles and that there are not the correct steps being taken to correct this. I would not suggest keeping any money here as they will charge you more fees than any other financial institution. This bank went so far as to continue to take money from my account and charge additional fees (in an absurd amount) even after I closed the account. Their operations are absolutely unethical. I have since gone to Navy Federal with no issues. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your banking needs. read more

If this site had a negative star rating I would give RRCU a negative 5 stars. I currently has a car loan with RRCU and have had this loan for over two years. During the approval process, proof of insurance was provided. I went to make my car payment on the 15th of July and noticed a $780 CPI charge to my car loan. After figuring out what this fee was, I submitted a copy of my insurance card to RRCU through their messaging system asking them why they randomly added this fee to my loan without requesting for this documentation beforehand. Not surprisingly, I did not hear back. I sent two more messages... I called RRCU and had to wait 30 minutes before I got to speak with the rudest person on earth who spoke to me as if she was insulted that I was inquiring about this random predatory loan fee. Without personality nor any care for my concern, I was directed to email the proof of insurance to a department email. Again... unsurprisingly I did not hear back for two days. I provided my insurance card - not good enough they needed my insurance dec page, all of which I provided to them same day. Again.. two days later, I get another email asking for a change to the dec page... I get this to them as well same day. Today... this fee is still on my account. I sent another message to RRCU for a manager and if this was not corrected soon, I was going to go into the branch. Surprisingly, RRCU calls me. Who then told me that they transferred to a new servicer for their auto insurance compliance. Unfortunately, they are incapable of handling documents internally and require that their members do their work for them by providing proof of insurance to the new servicing company... read more

I have been a member here for seven years. On May 16, my wallet was stolen with my debit card inside. I contacted Red Rocks and asked for my card to be cancelled. I was told that a new card would be mailed to me and arrive in 7-10 business days. After ten days, my card still had not arrived. I called Red Rocks and asked what had happened, and they changed their story and said that it was "normal" for debit cards to take 14 business days to arrive (even though I was told it would be 7-10 days). I continued calling about the issue for the next three days, with all the representatives in that time refusing to do anything, until I finally got a representative that acknowledged the obvious: my card had been lost in the mail. I told the representative that since I had been without a debit card for three weeks that I wanted it to be overnighted to me. She explained that Red Rocks does not overnight debit cards, and that if I was really "desperate for cash" that I could go to a public service credit union and make a withdrawal. Excuse me? I was unaware that wanting to spend my own money qualified me as being "desperate for cash." She said the best they could do would expedite a card to me, which would take 4-5 business days. She also said that it would be delivered by FedEx, and so somebody would have to be home to sign for it when it arrived. My boyfriend cancelled his plans and worked from home the following Thursday and Friday so he could be there to receive the card. Lo and behold, the card STILL DID NOT ARRIVE. That Monday, I called Red Rocks and demanded to know how TWO debit cards could have been lost. No one could give me any answers, they simply offered overnight me a card (even though the previous representative told me that "Red Rocks does not overnight debit cards"). Again, they said someone would need to be home to receive and sign for the card. I explained it was unacceptable to ask me/my boyfriend to take more time off of work to receive a card that we should have gotten weeks ago. After going around in circles, I requested to speak to a manager. I was told that the manager I needed, Wendy, was in a meeting, but I could leave her a message and she would get back to me. I left her a message, and obviously she cares very little about member experience, because over 24 hours later she has yet to get back to me. Tuesday afternoon, imagine my surprise when my debit card showed up in my mailbox. First of all, it was two days late. But more importantly, it was in my mailbox, meaning NO ONE needed to be home to receive it, and the efforts we went to to be at home for two days were unnecessary. Throughout this whole process, no one has offered me any explanation or answers as to why it took a month to get a debit card. There is still another card floating around in the mail system with my name on it (albeit unactivated). They did not seem concerned with the fact that I ALWAYS got different information from different representatives. I will be closing my account and moving elsewhere. I suggest everyone steer clear of Red Rocks Credit Union. read more

What a joke this place is. We got an auto loan through them as they offered one of the best rates for our new vehicle. Little did we know, you cannot check your balance without calling in (no online system, etc.) and they charge an insane processing fee for every payment. We paid off our vehicle loan in September of 2016. Just recently, we realized we never received our title from them so we sent all the proper info as well as payment to the state to get a copy sent to us. We got the letter back from the state yesterday saying there is still a lien on the vehicle. I figured it would take a little while for the paperwork to process, but seriously? 8 months and they STILL don't have it together?! Called in to try and have someone send me the lien release via email. Come to find out, they have hired a 3rd party company who literally has no power except answering the phones. They couldn't even access our account! Just stay far from this place. read more

I had an auto payment due in June. Prior to this, I had no overdue payments and paid nearly double my payment each month. When I logged into the payment system in June to pay, I was told the system was no longer active and to sign up for a new system. I registered, but the system took TWO weeks to process my approval. During this time, an account specialist had been trying to reach me. However, the bank had been using contact information which I had already told them was incorrect TWICE. Once in person, and once over the phone. When I finally received online payment access I made a payment the following Monday I was able to. At this point the bill had become overdue. Upon hearing a couple days later from my previous contact address that the bank was trying to reach me, I immediately called and tried to settle the matter. They said it was too late to resolve the missed payment without reporting it to the credit agencies. This is a nightmare for me as I am attempting to close on my first home in a week. This credit hit may ruin my chances. I explained this and begged with the account specialist to make a one-time (my first) exception, but was told there was nothing to be done. I even offered to pay off the entirety of the loan ON THE SPOT. As a previous loyal customer and with plans to keep my future loans at Red Rocks, this has been a nightmare. This ridgid process of a two week turnaround time to switch THEIR payment systems, plus trying to collect the bill at a number I TOLD THEM was incorrect leaves me with this review and looking for a different institution in the future. This is unfortunate as I love the rates and the employees have always been professional and kind, even the collection agent I dealt with. read more

Every time I go into this place there's a reason why they can't help me. My card expired last month, they never sent another, I came in on the first and was told they couldn't print a new card because they're having contract issues with their card services. So I have to wait up to 21 business days (a month) to get my debit card. I came in today and was told they could print a whole new debit card but it would be a new number, so everything in my life set up on automatic payments has to have the new number. I submitted. I've been sitting here for 30 minutes waiting on my new card. "It will only be 10 minutes". When I asked why it's taking so long I get told "oh the person meant to activate it is in a meeting." It's impossible to get anyone here to actually do their jobs. They used to be okay at handling things but in recent years it's gone drastically downhill. It's always an excuse. "Oh, we didn't notice a new card needed to be sent," "oh we can't figure out our contract". It's hard to put any faith in them to hold my money when they can't even do simple things their competitors do. read more

The banker (Sierra) I worked with was extremely guiding and very on top of service with me and my family. The interest rates here are amazing as well as the staff and environment. After reading the other reviews, I have to concede that I may have dodged a bullet...I applied at the end of December 2020 to refinance my auto loan, heard back right away, person I was working with seemed super nice and willing to help. Mid January 2021, I get all my paperwork in, credit check is good to go... And suddenly I stopped hearing from them. No one would return my emails, it took days to return phone calls (if they were returned at all) and no one knew anything--I finally got a hold of a live human, and as it turns out my loan application was declined. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT TO KNOW TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN I SUBMITTED MY PAPERWORK. Or even, you know, while we were going through the loan application process--apparently they don't finance commercial vehicles? Even though I'm using this commercial vehicle for personal use, not business. Guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere, but good riddance. Only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because when I did actually get a person on the phone, they were super helpful. read more

As soooo many others have stated...this is the worst banking experience of my life. It's unfortunate as it is offered through my employer at a satellite site in Littleton, CO and while the convenience is great, the customer services is terrible, especially the remote branch manager Lindsay. She should be retrained and reminded that she is not the customer and it is her job to help customers, not to make them feel foolish. She, as do all bank employees have bad attitudes and condescending natures and this combined with there lack of knowledge and ability in to help, even with small tasks like answering phone calls, is really appalling !! Do not use this credit union, I am shutting down all accounts and taking several loans elsewhere, simply because of their unprofessional, if not unethical practices. Credit Unions are a dime a dozen, use another. read more
