They have completely new everything- very modern and clean. Obviously, it's a renovated red roof- so the walls are very thin, and all the room access is from outside. But what they have done with the place is incredible! I read some iffy reviews about the breakfast- but I had a good experience. There were many more options than when I stayed across the street. Breakfast was available from 6-9, and it was refilled multiple times when I was there around 8.

Beds were nice, I'll give you that. Everything else was low grade Ikea or Amazon furniture. The floors were FILTHY. I used one of their towels, left by the previous guest, to wash the floors and the white towel was black by the time I was done. Dead bugs, dust, dirt, slimy crusted on stuff on the floor under the desk. Disgusting. The Quality Inn Card left in all the rooms GUARANTEES your satisfaction and tells you their rooms will be HOSPITAL QUALITY clean. Don't do it. And don't ever stay in a hospital with "that kind" of "clean". The person at the front desk, and the cleaning people are all you need to know about the hotel in Whytheville VA. We prayed we didn't bring any roaches home with us. Toilet was broken, my husband had to fix it. Sink was leaking, yet everything was made of plastic. No shampoo in the bottles in the shower attached to the wall. Bone dry. When we brought the filthy towels and empty shampoo bottle to the guy at the front desk, he handed us shampoo samples from a RED ROOF INN. Brand new TV - DID NOT WORK. Brand new phone - DID NOT WORK. Could not connect to WIFI. What would you do in an Emergency? Tried using our cellphones to call, and they kept hanging up on us. Contacted Corporate, someone in another country, and they just kept hanging up on us. Their SATISFACTION GUARANTEE is bogus. We were not satisfied, we were disgusted. And they would not offer a refund. We booked through CHOICE HOTELS, not a middle man. Yet they will not refund our money. All I can say to any traveler, if you're ok with staying in a $hithole, and don't care about cleanliness, bugs, or anything working other than a bed, then you are good to go. Based on the filthy room I would not dare attempt eating their breakfast. I would not want to even see that kitchen if the bedrooms were full of bugs. Just don't say you weren't warned. It was gross. And I have stayed in Econolodges, Super 8's and low budget places that were fantastic. This was just gross. And the way their customer service handled it was NOT "satisfactory". They just did not care at all whether or not we were satisfied, despite their GUARANTEE of satisfaction. I know there are people out there who like to sue places that don't meet their expectations, so if you are one of them, by all means go there and see for yourself. Move the ottoman out of the way and you will find all the dead bugs, and some live ones too. Look behind the beds, you will find bugs, dirt, grime, etc. $hit company, and after having tried to get recompensed for our inconvenience, still very unsatisfied.

We planned this trip as our first anniversary weekend to get away from the chaos of everyday life and it was every bit of what we needed. Unlike other B&Bs, Scott and Loren's home offers a secluded and private setting where you can enjoy the grounds without having to tiptoe around other guests or wait for a good spot on the porch to open up. It offers a level of comfort and seclusion not easily found elsewhere. Their property is amazing with gardens throughout and a quietness you cannot find at other B&Bs. They are incredibly welcoming to their home and go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. While we were secluded from civilization, the home itself offered all of the amenities you could ever need. We especially enjoyed exploring the books on the shelves, sitting on the porch, looking at the many species of trees and plant life, and perhaps best of all Scott's French Toast breakfast. I cannot stress enough just how wonderful our stay was and how accommodating they were to our last-minute changes. We are deeply appreciative for their hospitality and every little touch they put in to make our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back for future stays.

We rented the garden shed for a family rendevous and couldn't have asked for more. I've heard they use the main house as a bed & breakfast when it's not being renovated and I hope that's true. I'd love to come back with the whole family one day. (The shed sleeps 6) Ward Manor has everything. Land, water, incredible views, cats, dog, donkey, and cattle. On the weekend we were there, there was even a bonfire. My SIL and grandson went fishing. We all took lots of hikes. We might have given the donkey too many carrots, but he swears it was ok!! My favorite thing to do was drink my coffee each morning by the pond and watch the fog lift from the surrounding mountains. Absolute heaven. It was everything we wanted it to be. Michael and Matthew were very gracious and very accommodating.

On top of that, they were very aggressive and mean to her when she asked about the things in the contract that were to supposed to have been completed. Avoid at ALL costs.

I gave the park an average rating because it has a serious electrical issue with the 30 amp sites. The park was built in the 60's and the electrical is in dire need of being upgraded. On different occasions mainly during the day with the AC running on the area that I was in the main breaker will trip. Myself and others in the area affected by the electrical powering 4 30 amp sites went without power on several occasions for several hours. An employee with the park came out to try and fix the issue and found that the main power supply to the sites affected was only putting out 60 amps just enough to power two 30 amp sites with four connected to the main supply line. The park as in the employee's words badly needs to have the electrical upgraded to avoid outages in the future. Overall the stay was very pleasant but having the electrical issue was very upsetting to deal with.The park does offer internet with a strong signal.

The service was great from the beginning. Our server Molly Johnson went above and beyond to make our visit a memorable one. She was impressed with our young granddaughters ordering for themselves. Molly had a smile on her face the whole time. The food came out relatively quick so that was a plus, especially with young children. We'll most definitely be back again. We want Molly for a server.!

I have been there for a weekly jam sessions of bluegrass/roots/traditional music, and the owner are very friendly and gracious. I also was lucky enough to be invited to a Christmas party there, and was in the larger room. They had elegant seat covers to match the holiday decor on all of the chairs, cloth tablecloths, and tasteful burgundy berry wreaths up on the walls. Again, the owners were friendly and subtly made sure everyone had what they needed, and to feel welcome. This space is not only good for parties, they have media components built in that would make it suitable for business presentations, sales presentations, or educational programs. Finally, the owners appear to be sincerely interested in tailoring the space to their clients' needs, and seem as sophisticated as they are welcoming.

The cabins are literally right on the New River Trail (which is a fantastic rail trail) where we rode our bikes everyday. The cabin was very nice & cozy and well equipped with coffee maker, washer/dryer/microwave, dish detergent, etc. The shower had great water pressue which felt so good after a long day of riding! Very rustic and serene which is exactly what you would want in the beautiful setting it was in. We sat at the picnic table at night drinking a glass of wine and watching the wildlife all around us. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was that the iternet was down but why would you WANT to be on your computer in the little slice of heaven???
