I have had several photo shoots with Red Room Studios and couldn't be happier. Not only are they a husband and wife team which is awesome they do photos for every occasion. The experience is like no other from the moment you get there you feel a warm welcome, the makeup and hair stylist are amazing and have always made me look like a goddess. I was nervous the first time and they comforted that and really broke me out of my shell now I walk in like I own the place cause Heather has empowered me to not only feel confident in who I am but what I bring to any table. I had my shoot today!!!!! I've had a boudoir shoot before and the difference in Heather and Mauricio was and is staggering. The level of professionalism the two of them demonstrated was amazing. Attention to detail!!!!! I felt so supported and encouraged. Each pose was carefully positioned as well as geared to camouflage my insecurities the whole time in a supportive way to NOT make me self conscious. Heather is an amazing coach. She is encouraging and works with your body, your physical abilities to get the best pose/picture possible. One nervous client, 2 phenomenal photographers, 3 glasses of mimosa, 5 hours of posing, 8 outfits at least I lost count probably 10, 500 pictures on the camera, resulted in the happiest most empowering day I have ever had. There is a difference when you book at Red Room you will feel it from the moment you walk in! If you're debating...... quit and just make your appointment! Heather is decent to work with at first. But once your mid session and after it's a different experience. She doesn't advertise her business on google or claim it on yelp, only on Facebook that way she controls all reviews. I booked a birthday deal with her for $405 which she told me included professional hair and makeup, 6-8 outfit changes, numerous background settings and 5 killer images. We talked about doing both an indoor shoot and outdoor shoot which she said was fine for a fee of $150. When it came time for our session she wanted to deny our conversation about that in front of her husband who does all the photography not Heather. I'm fact he actually gave off the impression as if he was hiding upstairs while I was getting my makeup done and then came downstairs when it was time to shoot. She makes her face of the company but fails to mention any part of her husband or that it's a husband and wife team until your there, they saw how freaked out I was about it and laughed it off. He then explained to me Heather only handles the social media aspect of it while she titles herself as the photographer online. During our whole session they bickered back and forth mostly Heather while her husband directed her on what poses to guide me through or if it was time to change outfits. While I was getting my makeup done (I can't say hair because I had to do it myself as the woman didn't have experience with curly hair) I asked Heather what to expect for pricing and I get told "we'll talk about it when we get there" when I ask again what to expect to put money aside she tells me "we have tiers for certain pictures" that's twice I asked and I still couldn't get a clear answer. She didn't want to tell me pricing until it's time for the photo reveal because she herself knows her pricing is outrageous. The turn around time for your photos will take 5 months. The pictures sell starting at $50+ per picture. The cheapest package starts at $1,200 for 25 pictures. In the price sheet she offers prints starting at $4.25 which was affordable for me at that time I was told I could not buy just prints I had to buy digitals first starting at $50+ then I can buy prints. She tries to calculate payment plans for me but due to an unexpected situation I couldn't commit to a payment plan she than began to say "I don't know what kind of immature photographers you've worked with" as a resort to make her look more superior as if she was worth the 5 month wait with no updates in between. She has a contract she wants you to sign, I never did because I didn't see it until she brought it up in our argument. But she strongly believes her contract goes over invoices and pricing, when I sent her screenshots of her contract showing her the contract showed NO such thing and that's an error on her part for not having a clear contract and not being honest about everything upfront. When I explained all of this to her about how she was wrong and should try to fix this to make this a better experience and own up to her mistakes she then tried to victimize herself. I've worked with other great photographers who do amazing jobs with reasonable prices and two week turn around times for photos those photographers are what I call dedicated photographers. This company isn't even registered with the BBB .. Red Room just feels like a scam and a rip off. read more
