    Wide, paved walking path.

Beautiful area with a wide, paved walking path. A family of 4 could easily walk side-by-side. Dogs on leashes are welcome too. And there are benches periodically along the path to sit and rest. The parking area only holds about 10 cars. Also, the turnoff from the road into the parking lot is very discreet, like a small driveway or access road for utility work that you would normally dismiss. There's a tiny sign that's easy to miss too. The trail shows up on a GPS map though, so it's easy to find if you look it up.

Nice abs unexpected trail in the cut. Red run stream valley trail is less than 10 minutes from me and it was a great discovery. The parking is a little limited but the time spent here was worth it. The trail is good for biking, roller blading, hiking, walking and jogging. There are a few trails off the road that are great for hiking. Family and dog friendly trail you should add to your list

Parking really does suck here!!! I knew before coming here but told myself a Monday morning shouldn't be bad... wrong. There are many trails and mostly all paved. They're also fairly wide paths as well so I was able to meet up a mommy friend and chatted until I had cotton mouth while we distanced each other on each side of the path, pushing our strollers. The fall scenery is so beautiful right now!!! Wish I found this place sooner, definitely need to make my way back before it gets too cold out.

    Early morning sunrise

Benches and information boards are scattered throughout this trail and not to mention the cutest little bridge over the stream.

To get to the waterfall you have to walk a path that's about 10-15 minutes. You will have to climb over some rocks in the water in your travels, but once you get to the waterfall you will absolutely love it. *Please note* Wear comfortable shoes because there are some areas that could be potentially dangerous if you don't take your time.

Notably, the parking lot requires an advance reservation on peak dates, and this policy has been expanded to cover more dates due to the pandemic lockdown pushing people to spend their days outdoors. The trail is a short loop to the falls. Great Falls this isn't, but it's significant enough to generate a nice spray. A rather upset-looking fish flopped down shallow water as I approached. Upstream of the falls was a challenge. Few fords were viable, perhaps owing to heavy rain, and signs suggesting the area was blocked off were ignored by expeditions looking for better crossings. I made it across the stream and back, but I did get a little wet. The scenery isn't worth a long drive on its own, but paired with the other local park sites, it makes for good viewing, and in particular this space with its parking limitations can't get too crowded.

Plenty of parking but it's a slight walk away from the trails. There's a decent number of people playing recreational soccer, grilling and just enjoying the weather. A complaint I would say is that there aren't any trash cans available at all. I feel like having one by the main entrance is the least they could do. My boyfriend and I brought our dogs on to the rapids trail and they enjoyed the water. Would like to go back again.

Only 2 owners leashed their dogs when I requested upon encounter. On site ranger was sympathetic, they try their best by offering leashes at the entrance. But enforcement is the only way to address issue imo. Otherwise this place becomes too attractive to people who don't want to comply, ruining it for the rest of us.... I am frustrated to pay for admission or a seasonal pass (which IS very much enforced in this season) if I have to wonder about strange dogs approaching me off leash.... Another park ranger told me carrying pepper spray is legal in Md state parks to protect yourself and he recommends this for his fiance and sister
