Food is good and fresh made by the people who make them. The ambiance is great and chill remarkably well and clean place.

I have heard about Red Satay from some of my family members and was told they do have some vegan items so when Calactus was sadly closed, we decided to go here. The atmosphere is nice and warm and I like the decor. The waitress we had was extremely sweet and helpful. I asked about vegan options and even though Happy Cow states there's a vegan menu, that's not really true. Most items even on the vegetable menu side are not naturally vegan, they use a lot of fish sauce and deep fry the tofu in the same oil as meat. The waitress was up front and great about that. We asked if the tofu could be pan fried rather than deep fried and she asked for us and it was no problem but I highly suggest vegans SPECIFY as such. The food was quick and plentiful. The food was very good and I enjoyed it. I definitely recommend the Red Satay for vegans and non-vegans alike. Moncton seems to not offer much as far as vegan cuisine so this is a good option. read more

Sometimes you underestimate a restaurant and this is definitely one of those times. I've heard a lot about the Red Satay, and I'm not going to lie - I can be a very picky eater. However, I LOVE my currie so today I ventured out of my comfort zone in my home town to try something out of the box. Surprised is the least I could say. The chicken currie was so perfect and the veggies were so incredibly fresh! My boyfriend got the 'Jenny's Special' (chosen after all of the views on here) and the whole time he was gobbling up his dinner he was going on about how great and fresh it was. The portion sizes were plentiful, almost too much to eat. The atmosphere was fun and quirky. The waitress was fast, efficient and truly knew what was in the menu - which is by far one of my favourite things. We would definitely go back here again given the chance. read more

I thought that the Dieppe location would be better because it's nicer inside but man, I was wrong. Red Satay on St.George is the best! The cooks are the best in town! Their soup broths are so full of flavour and spices. Up to now, my favourite pho soup! Their plate portions could be bigger though. That's the only thing. My husband eats a lot, so the portions of rice are not quite satisfying for him. But that's the only downfall. Staff is very nice. Love goIng there!! read more

Food is exceptional, I have eaten the wonton soup and the rice with shrimp and spring roll (#42). This being my first time having Vietnamese food i loved it! The service is impeccable super nice waitresses! We went as a group of 11 on a Saturday night and were standing in the doorway as other customers were trying to get in and out for about 10 minutes before table was ready. Friends local to Moncton recommended this place to us, and we might not have found it otherwise! It's a busy spot with tables tucked into close quarters, but the friendly service was quick and we had a great meal. Very clean and tidy with super fresh dishes, and waitstaff who are happy to make a recommendation. I tried the chicken curry on vermicelli, a nicely spiced yellow coconut curry. The portion is generous if you feel like finishing your rice or noodles, and all the vegetables were fresh and delicious. My husband tried the Jenny special, and it was really good. The shrimp in particular were so nicely sauteed, I had to sneak one off the top of his serving. The spring roll that came with his dish was also excellent. Very good value for fresh and fast as well. Definitely recommended. They don't have an extensive beer menu, just about 3 things on offer, including Tiger from Singapore, but no draft beer. Clearly folks come here for the delicious food and not to spend hours chatting with friends. We hit the dinner rush but were still able to get a 2 seat table by a window no problem, and after that the place emptied out as the window of opportunity started to close. In my search of Pho...... I've found Red Satay in Moncton! Now how exactly did I find it? Through Yelp!!!! So I had the Pho ga.... Chicken. My partner works in Moncton so I texted him.... Bring home Pho, think I'm getting sick. I gave him the address and sure enough he picked it up for me. It was so good, delicate beef broth with the spices used for Pho brought back my days in Denver at my beloved Pho 79. The chicken was fresh so very tender... Only thing... They didn't send satay sauce home! But that was OK I have all of my own. I threw in some lime and it was wonderful. And I am feeling much better today! read more

Initial impressions were good, very clean and appealing decor, with a bright moderately loud atmosphere. It has about 15 tables and from my vantage point the kitchen appeared very clean. As with every first time at a Pho joint, I ordered the deep fried spring rolls and a bowl of beef noodle soup (Pho). They offer a couple of noodle soups, a regular and a house soup with their own spices. Choice of 3 meats. Spring rolls were perfect, fast, hot, crunchy, tightly packed and served with that yummy dipping sauce I've grown accustomed to in Vietnamese restaurants. FINALLY a restaurant that gives you the bean sprout, cilantro and lime wedge on a plate for your soup!!! I'm getting a good feeling about this place. Soup arrived steaming hot, with perfect tender rare beef. The red satay sauce in it made for a spicy soup and I nearly coughed a lung after inhaling a red chili flake. It hurt SO good! This is a must-eat location and I will become a regular. Since my first visit, I returned with family. We all had soup, this time I had regular Pho, beef noodle soup. To start, we had 3 orders of spring rolls, and my wife was very unimpressed with the portion size. But she is knocked up and eating for two. The pho was terrific, she confirmed it. My in-laws had wonton, and wor wonton soups, the wonton was above average, but the wor wonton was visually stunning, HUGE and loaded with goodies: pork, wontons, shrimp, noodles, veg, etc... Very solid Vietnamese food, especially for a town of this size. The beef pho broth was good, the meat was fine (not awesome, just fine), but the red stay sauce was amazing. The server said they blend the sauce in-house and cook it for hours. It's a little spicy, but very flavorful - smoky and peppery. I love the bubble tea options, although they all seem to be blended shakes common for Vietnamese restaurants, they just happen to also have tapioca balls. Our server was great - perfectly attentive. She accidentally gave one of my party someone else's bubble tea but replaced both (we didn't ask her to, she just brought new ones and apologized). They seem to take quality very seriously - I saw the server bring an hourglass to a table that ordered a pressed coffee to ensure it was brewed for the right amount of time. If I'm ever back in Moncton for some reason, I'd definitely return. read more

After going to this restaurant plenty of times and taking something different on the menu every time i have never been disappointed! The service the last time i went was particularly exceptional because i have recently become vegan and was concerned on what i could eat on the menu. Once i asked the waitress what my vegan options were she showed me so many different options on the menu and even suggested me some off menu items. I then asked if i could possibly get the vietnamese iced coffee (which is amazing by the way) vegan. The waitress wasn't sure if it was possible but she went out of her way to discuss with the cooks who found a way to make it vegan and it still tasted amazing! At the end of my meal, before leaving i asked if it was possible to buy the vegan sauce that they use to dip spring rolls in or to top the vermicelli noodles. Again this amazing waitress in which i didn't catch her name unfortunately, went out of her way to find out if i could possibly buy it and she said depending on their inventory i sometimes cant sell it but as she went to check and came back with an amazing price. So i got out of there with a belly full of food and an amazing sauce to bring home and use for my own meals! 10/10 recommend this place. You will not be disappointed! read more

Don't expect the atmosphere to blow you away. The food and service, on the other hand, just might. Some of the best Vietnamese food I've ever had, and in Moncton of all places... I've visited a few times now and usually make an effort to stop in for lunch whenever I'm in the city. Prices are also very reasonable, and the place seemed to be exceptionally clean. If they renovated a bit and made the atmosphere a little less cheap and drab, it would be a 5-star restaurant, no question. read more

Have been a regular customer since it opened in 2010. I crave Asian food having spent most of my life in Calgary and raised on Japanese food. I am so happy to have Red Satay in Moncton. Their food is always delicious and consistent. The staff are tremendous and are my friends now. My favorite dishes are Pepper Pork (on rice), Jenny's Special or The Big One with pork on vermicelli, Chicken Curry, Wor Won Ton, Vegetarian Spring Rolls and Binh Pudding. Their Vietnamese dishes are filling, delicious and not heavy or greasy like a lot of Chinese food. It is happy food, because you leave with a satisfied smile. If you like Asian food, you should definately try Red Satay. Lunch hour is very busy but you have a better chance of getting a table if you arrive before noon. They take reservations just before and just after the lunch hour. Reserve on the weekends for sure, though. read more

I've just recently discovered this place and it's become one of my favourite restaurants in Moncton. I love the Jenny Special so much that i just can't convince myself to order something different. It is a very large bowl of vermicelli topped with grilled and seasoned beef, pork, chicken and shrimp along with broccoli, beans sprouts, topped with peanuts and served with fish sauce and a spring roll. I've also tried (from a friend's bowl) the Red Satay Noodle Pho and the Wor Wonton soups. They were both really tasty! You can buy a larger portion, but the regular size is quite big. The service was great, but the tables are pretty close together. It's a busy spot so make sure that you make a reservation if you can. read more
