    Seafood Pad Thai
    Michelle S.

Our first time dining at Oriens did not disappoint! We went with a group of friends who've been to Oriens before. Based on their recommendations, my husband and I ordered the Seafood Pad Thai and the Beef Pho. Both were very unique - definitely fusion takes on the classic Thai and Vietnamese dishes, so not necessarily "authentic", but one should not be expecting authenticity at an Asian *fusion* restaurant anyway. I quite enjoyed the Korean spin on both dishes Portion sizes were typical and adequately filling. The quality of ingredients were good. The seafood Pad Thai had real chunks of lobster in it. Prices seem to be comparative to what other restaurants in Moncton charge (for context: we're from Ontario so we're used to slightly different price points). The server was attentive and even gave us free fried dumplings on the house (which were really tasty and unique since they were gyozas with a light, crunchy tempura coating). Overall, I'd recommend a visit and would even suggest ordering some of their fried food offerings since those seem to be what they excel at!

We love their pad Thai and garlic shrimp appetizer. Have tried several things on the menu and have enjoyed it all.

Great break from seafood with a little spice. The roti chani was very authentic. Love the chicken…read morerice. The rice was flavored nicely with stock. The chicken pieces went so well with the flavored rice with scallions and a little hot sauce. This is the closest Malaysian flavor than the usual Chinese influenced dishes in NYC Chinatown. Service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant looked new inside. Would definitely visit again when in the area.

I read that you can't go to Moncton without stopping here, which is why we did!…read more The menu is fairly thorough regarding allergens, including where oyster sauce, shellfish, egg, dairy, and nuts are used. I'm allergic to most of those things so I felt confident when I arrived. I was going to have the chicken curry, which *didn't* list these things but when I gave them my allergens, they said it had oyster sauce in it. The only option I had became chicken and beef satay and I don't like peanut sauce so they made it without. The beef wasn't very flavorful without it, the chicken was better but it was missing something. They did bring me a hot oil and siracha sauce to try to help with this but it was meh for me. I'm grateful they are thorough, and I am limited, I just would've chosen another place. However, my boyfriend (no restrictions) was in love with his meal. It was a nice atmosphere, the waitstaff was very nice, and it was clean. I think it would be good for someone less restricted.

Great and attentive service…read more Calm atmosphere a d decor with soft music in the back ground. Has a patio for nice day to sit outside. Parking in the rear. Sashimi platter is good. Fish were soft. Gets 3 pieces of salmon, tuna, and another fish I can't tell. Pink sushi was deep fried with mayo drizzled on top. Delicious. Smokey crab roll has a hint of spiciness (not too bad, since I don't eat spicy food and I can handle it). There is lots of shredded crab meat on top of the roll. Seafood soup was mediocre. 3 pieces of clams, 1 shrimp, 2 squid pieces, lots of onion, and none impressive soup flavour. Best to stick with the complimentary miso soup.

Later, four couples arrived and took up two tables. Nice quiet ambience. I sat under the air conditioner and read for two hours. I ordered the Beef Teriyaki Pink Bento box. They had a number of Bento boxes on offer, unfortunately, they were only available for lunch. I hope the restaurant begins to offer more Bento Boxes at dinner. The salad and soup seemed small by American size standards, but they were very tasty. You could either get 8 pieces of sashimi or a classic roll. I got a California Roll. The food was tasty and the portions were good. The Miso soup was quite toothsome. I even ordered another one after dinner. You also got ice cream as a dessert, which is not typical with a Bento box, but I demurred. Overall, good food and a nice quiet ambience.
