My friend ordered flowers for her 73rd birthday celebration. She paid for delivery and chose a lovely arrangement. She received a confirmation on the day of the order via text and was expecting the arrangement to be delivered at 1 pm. The link under the text showed a cancellation! She wasn't informed of this and called several times. She waited until almost 2:30 when after repeated phone calls with clerks that couldn't even find her order, she finally received reassurance that they were on their way. Not only did this unnecessarily stress her out, the flowers that were delivered were not the ones she ordered! I would not recommend or ever purchase anything from Red Square in the future. read more

Beautiful flowers! I was able to visit both locations. I stopped in at their State Street location to place an order for a small arrangement for an event. The staff was very helpful and made it quick and easy to place the order. I ordered a week ahead of time and picked it up at their Mifflin Street location. They seem to just have flower order pick up at their Mifflin location. Both stores are open, spacious, and filled with amazing plants and some flower bouquets. The state street location seemed to be plant specific. I arrived about an hour before the scheduled time to pick up the arrangement and they were ready for me. I asked for a red themed arrangement. They turned out beautifully. I love how the stems are wrapped with green leaves in the water. I would definitely come back for more event arrangements. read more

I received a large flower arrangement for 2025 Mother's Day. This must have been a very costly arrangement. I watered it immediately however In less than 24 hours numerous flowers in the arrangement were in terrible shape! I felt so badly for my daughters who sent it. I called and left a message letting Red Square florists know of the low quality of the floral stock in the arrangement and requesting a partial refund for my daughters. I have received no call back. I live in Florida and ordered flowers for a friend to surprise her. I found out 10 min later she was going out of town for the weekend and called to change the delivery date. I was told that the they couldn't change the date and that the flowers would be fine outside over the weekend. I questioned the cold WI weather. I was told that it would be like a fridge and be fine. Please listen to the other reviewers when they say this place is a rip off. I called Red Square flowers this morning and asked them to put together a $150 bouquet to celebrate my mom's birthday and that I wanted something grand. I just picked it up. On your left is the blue $150 bouquet from red Square flowers. On the right is a pink $75 bouquet from Hyvee that included same day delivery. I was so heartbroken when I picked it up I didn't know how to react. I felt like the clerk could tell and she asked me if the bouquet was the right color, which it was, then she said it was already paid for and she left. I had to leave so when I got home I called and said I was disappointed. She said each hydrangea was $15-which is only $45 dollars total--and if I could bring it back they'd rearrange it to make it bigger but she wouldn't adjust the price. I was so excited to knock my moms socks off I was practically floating when I walked into the store. I walked out feeling sad and stupid. She just had a baby and all of our girlfriends went in on this arrangement in hopes that it was going to be a gigantic beauty waiting for her at home when they got back from the hospital. She sent us a picture and while it's the thought that counts, this was not at all what we thought we paid for. Here's the photo on your site compared to what was sent to her - I am getting into the flower business myself, so while I completely understand that the arrangements you offer don't always look exactly as pictured due to what flowers are available based on the season/available in market, I feel this was leaning way more towards false advertising and did not match the price point at all, even with the current flower shortage. What was delivered looks to be about a fourth the amount of stems in the photo online, and additionally there are more leaves than tulips. The tulip colors and vase are also completely different. Since we paid so much for something that looks like it should've been half the price, I'm hoping you can either send her another bouquet that's closer to the photo version or issue some % of a refund. I've only heard good things about Red Square Flowers but have never ordered something from here before, so this was just really underwhelming and not what we anticipated based on your reviews. read more

I ordered flowers from this florist this month. I order flowers daily, it is my job. The flowers were delivered and were in terrible shape. The person I sent them to reached out to the florist and never heard back. I reached out and was able to contact them and they said they would not do anything without a photo (not sure what happened with "the customer is always right")!. I sent the photo with the wilted greenery and was told the the arrangement looked beautiful. IT DID NOT and they would not replace. I have become a plant mom like many others during this pandemic ;). I ordered two plants: a monstera and a bird of paradise plant online. I ordered extra potting dirt as well. The staff were really kind and even called me to ensure my order confirmation. I set up a pick up time and parked my car towards the back of the store. They ran out with the plants, packaged nicely, and it was so simple and easy! I felt super safe the whole time. They created beautiful arrangements, were prompt in communication, reasonably priced, and they took care of delivery and set up in a seamless way. If I could, I would give this place zero stars. Was very disappointed with the flower arrangement I ordered for my uncle's funeral. The arrangement was three white flowers in a bunch of green leaves in a cheap vase. Maybe twelve inches high. Total bill was $79.50. Talk about overcharging!! I did call and talk to someone about my disappointment. They said there were green roses in the arrangement. I did not see any green roses and neither did my brother or sister. In April, I asked for a unique floral arrangement for my brother's Celebration of Life - a conical faux Christmas tree, about 15" high. Red and green ribbon. Holiday special as that was his favorite season. When asked by the owner what price, I said $125. It was dreadful. Puny, stuck with a few pieces of tiny branches, no tree shape, certainly not a conical shaped tree. And no red and green. I wrote the owner, Alina, and she did not respond. I would be wary of their cacti. I have bought several plants from them, but three of the cacti I purchased from them were infested with bugs. The first one seemed to be scales and I managed to save the cacti, the second was some tiny white bug which killed the plant, and the third was also likely scale and I possibly have managed to save it, but its in pretty poor shape. I have three other cacti from there which are doing fine, but with half of them infested with bugs, I wouldn't risk it. Note, I did not replant the cacti. These were cacti they re-potted for me with their own soil. It also isn't from other plants I own, as I only have the cacti I purchased from them and they are in two different locations, home and at work. So, the source of the bugs has to be from the soil or plants at Red Square. I've sent them an email after the first infestation and also spoke with one of their employees on two separate occasions, who only suggested I use pesticides and didn't really comment on the fact that I have now received multiple plants infested with bugs from them. The first time I spoke with an employee they suggested I email them, which I said I did above, but I received no response. I love their arrangements, I love their variety, I adore their pots, I hate the bugs. Wasted my money on plants just to have them die and damage my other plants. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday to pick up a fresh arrangement, but was surprised at the lack of fresh flowers they had in their store. They sell mostly succulents and terrariums, along with large pots and home decor. They did have a case of fresh flowers, but they were all separate stems and priced differently. I was looking for something with orange and red in it, but they had mostly yellow flowers, so I opted to not get anything while shopping. Their hours are limited, so you have to be strategic if you can't go during daytime hours. The staff was very friendly while I visited and offered to help me find flowers. The store was very clean and had beautiful interiors; I'll definitely be back when I'm in the market for succulents. read more

The flower selection isn't necessarily huge, but it's always top notch in terms of quality. And if there's anything specific you need they are very accommodating. One of my favorite local small businesses to visit, but they do BIG work. A must for everyone in Madison to check out. It will be hard to leave without a new plant, pot or floral arrangement though! I have been purchasing from Red Square Flowers for my business, Float Madison, since early 2017, and from the first time I stepped in the store I knew I would become hooked. The owner, Alina, greeted me right away during my first visit. She was very helpful with questions and extremely knowledgeable about everything she carries. Her customer service as well as the staff at both locations is fantastic: they pick up on body language and will allow you to browse or be there to answer questions and help you pick out whatever you need. Ordered flowers on 2/13/2017 for a Valentines Day delivery. I wanted to spend somewhere between 60-70$, and to use the florists expertise to design an arrangement with some roses, and other various colors and flowers. I received a picture of the flowers today, once they were received, and was disappointed. The flowers had nothing "red" in them, and the majority haven't even "bloomed" yet. I don't feel this was worthy of a $83.29 order for Valentines day. It looks like something I could of picked up from a grocery store. I called and spoke with shop to explain my issue, and was told to "call back because they were too busy with people in line" and "we only sale the freshest flowers". After I explained that I was a customer, and wasn't happy with her response she told me to e-mail them and hung up. I contacted Red Square Flowers because I saw that they sold one of my favorite candles: Thymes Aqua Coralline. Thymes had stopped making the candle in the thick aqua blue glass over a year ago and I've been in search of some ever since. When I called Thymes, they were not helpful in locating them at all. I just got super lucky that I found Red Square Flowers! They had the old style candles in stock, took my order and shipped them to me in Seattle immediately. I received them the same week. This is by far the best flower store in Madison!! Their flowers are of the highest quality. I bought five roses here recently. They lasted almost two weeks, which never happens! For the first week those beautiful flowers looked as fresh as the day I bought them. I was delighted. I bought other flowers here on multiple occasions and was never disappointed.
