With the seemingly eminent demise of the Orlando Sentinel daily paper, we are left with Orlando's…read more'alternative paper,' the Weekly. It mostly focuses on entertainment, so if you need to know who's playing where and what the drink specials are, this is your up to date source. Of course, on the back pages you'll find lots of ads for "outcall masseuses" and phone sex lines, but it still has some interesting content. Steve Schneider is sometimes brilliant, Billy Manes is everyones favorite gay scenester, and Happytown and Council Watch can be a fascinating read. Be sure to take the restaurant reviews with a grain of salt, though; although well written, they tend to praise their advertisers. How can you complain, its published every Thursday and its FREE!

The content is really kind of "one track mind", and customer relations and community feedback are ignored often, but if you want to know the best place in town for a beer, burger, or vegan hot dog.... this is the paper to read. Also, know the latest "best friends" in the local music and art scenes by reading the "best of " mentions or local reviews. Just don't forget that it's operating on mostly a buddy system and many fantastic artists in Orlando are often just not credited. Ear and eyes open for the under dogs! ;-) It's an alright ALTERNATIVE paper.

I am a very visual person when it comes to most things including learning, reading and…read moreunderstanding just about anything. If there are no pictures and just words it's very likely that my attention span will be very short and once something shiny crosses my path it's over. Now don't get me wrong, I love to read, but having pictures or something visually appealing is also a necessity...which is why I'm a fan my latest discovery, Orlando Style Magazine. This local publication is very visually appealing and has a lot to offer. The cover of this magazine is usually graced by a local celebrity or a gorgeous model wearing something a tad racy but somehow classy at the same time. Inside you'll find stories, news and information on all things central Florida. Aside from the typical advertisements, you'll find lots of pictures of people at events that have happened in and around town. Some of the people in the pictures are well known locally such as socialites, the governor and radio personalities while others are simply those who were lucky enough to attend the event. Considering the title has the word style in it, it's no surprise that this magazine does showcase current as well as up and coming fashion and trends not only in regards to apparel but also hobbies, nightlife and food. This is a good source for keeping in the know what's going on in the area as well as where everyone is hanging out and where you can find the latest hot fashion picks. The articles are also interesting in most issues. While they're not the best I've ever read, they can be entertaining and informative. Overall, I say find a copy and check it out!

Sven and Cathleen Bode publish an incredibly appealing magazine that covers trends in fashion,…read moredining and lifestyle in general on both a world-wide and local basis. A go-to magazine for the "see and be seen" photos. Somehow, they get to all of the local events. The photography is fantastic -- very high end. And love the variety of local columnists. Also a great restaurant guide in the back of the magazine. I think they do a great job at keeping the magazine fresh, too. Always eager to open it up when I see it come through in the mail...

This place is a definite check-out kind of place. The owners are two brothers by the name of Sandon…read more(Sandy) and Brian Clark. They are incredibly professional, even if they don't look it at first glance. They offer screen-printing on just about anything you can imagine. Brian will even customize a log to your liking. The quality of service is superior. I own several shirts that they have printed; washed them at least a 100 times and they are still looking like the first day I got them. As compared to other shirts I own where the ink peels off or get chipped and scratchy. None of that happens to these shirts. It's incredible. Tell your friends, family and co-workers about this place if they need anything printed on shirts, flyers, stickers and hats. Or just about anything! I've even seen them print on underwear. Couple of great guys who do superior work.

However, the ridiculously long turn over time for screen printing is not worth the end result. Only go with this company if you enjoy people ignoring your calls and orders. Then waiting an entire month after your order to have them tell you they shipped it with out a tracking number 3 weeks ago and they plan on doing nothing to figure out where it is. They are liars and slackers. I seriously doubt they ever even shipped my order and they are just telling me that so i stop harassing them about where my order is. Although i wouldnt have to feel like a 16 year old ex girlfriend if they would just pick up my calls and let me know what the status is on my order. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS!
