They bought my house, did the absolute minimum and flipped it in less than 30 days for much more money than I received and after me owning it for three years. The agent was nice but had no negotiation authority. The closing was a bit unconventional given that they use their own title company. I will not use them again nor do I recommend them. This is a general review for Redfin, but more specifically about my agent Andrew Vallejo. This is the second house I've bought with Redfin, and with Andrew as my agent. First was in 2014, and the second one closed yesterday. The Redfin website is great for helping you find properties you might find interest in, and it is easy to schedule viewings and home tours to see multiple properties. The agent at viewings wasn't always Andrew, but for the most part were always knowledgable about the local market and helpful. Andrew did everything he could to make sure I got what was fair in a difficult market and situation. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Andrew again in the future, the two houses I have bought with him have been a pleasurable experience. If I was interested in a property upon viewing it, he would call immediately to discuss pricing, and strategies for the offer. It is an extremely tough market for buying houses right now, many places sell in a weekend, and you need an agent right now that can work in these conditions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Redfin and Andrew to anyone. read more

We were assigned an agent by Redfin for the sale of our home. After zero showings, offers, or even an open house in THREE WEEKS, we fired that agent and requested a new one. We were told the second agent was one of their best agents. Flash forward another three weeks--things are worse than ever. We received ZERO guidance from either agent. I was looking at homes in the Austin/Cedar Park area using Redfin. They are very convenient to schedule home tours as you can book the tours online. They are very responsive to your tour requests too. I finally found a home that I wanted to bid on. I spoke to my agent on one Saturday evening regarding making an offer on a home. I sent him all the details he requested including my loan pre-approval. I mentioned to him that I would like my offer as soon as possible considering how quickly the homes are moving off the market. But for whatever reason he was slow in moving forward with my offer. He finally did send me the offer to sign. I had some questions as this was the first time I was buying a home. He sent a short reply but never called me or followed up with me to make my offer. On Monday morning I called him to get my questions clarified. I asked him to send me the revised offer to which he said he was out touring and will respond later. But before he could send me the revised offer the Home went into pending. I checked with him if we had the option of making a backup offer in case the main offer fell through for any reason. But he was reluctant to make a backup offer. Finally the home was sold for a price less than my intended offer price. What I have realized from my experience is that the agents in Redfin are not motivated enough to represent your interests. I am speculating that Redfin does not reward their agents well enough to take care of their customers (or) Redfin keeps there agents too busy that they genuinely do not have the time to attend to all their customers in a timely manner. Either way as a home buyer it is definitely not in your best interest to rely on Redfin especially in a super hot home market like Austin. read more

Redfin was one of the 3 Real Estate companies I had come out to give me a proposal for selling my home in Round Rock. Redfin was hesitant to push the asking price to $320,000. I liked the Realtor who came to my home and I really wanted to use her, but it was clear to me that she did not have any idea what she was doing. I listed my home (also with a reduced commission) a couple of weeks later with someone else for $338,000 and it sold in two days for $344,000. Had I listed with Redfin it would have cost me $44,000! read more

Horrible service. My husband and I made an appointment with a booking agent to go see a house 30 minutes away. After many emails back and forth we picked a time and took off work to drive out there. While I was driving to meet my husband I received a call from him and Redfin got their days mixed up and had us scheduled for the following day. Instead of making it right they said they had no one to come meet us. When you take off work, drive 30 minutes and have email correspondence confirming the date and time that is unacceptable. Horrible communication and professionalism. read more

Beware of using the agent Gavin Peterson at Redfin in Austin, TX. Not to be trusted, unprofessional plus only found one house that was 700k out of my price range. When I found another agent, he sent me a snarky email telling me how much work he had done on an excel spreadsheet for the 9 houses I picked to view. He did not find any of the 9 houses, only one he mentioned was "slightly out of my price range at 1M". My price range was no more than 400k. Plus the initial greet over the phone was 30 seconds, another agent did the one virtual tour with me and she said if I wanted to see anymore houses to call her and not Gavin. That she would have a better understanding of what I wanted in a house. First time using Redfin and he made an impression that he is out for the money only (he mentioned that the first email/text that he made this or that and sold this many houses, etc) plus he does not put in any work except an excel spreadsheet which is not difficult. My gut told me to use someone else and glad I did. read more

We found Redfin to be very professional and easy to work with. We think they'd be great for sellers, as they very quickly pass information about good properties through their network, and bring a lot of buyers in quickly when any one of their agents sees a very good property. If they rate your house as a "hot property" you'll likely have multiple offers in very short order (assuming it deserves that rating, of course). Their strength for sellers in bringing lots of buyers to attractive properties could be a weakness if you are a buyer. If you find a great deal the last thing you want is your agent telling their whole network about it before you have a chance to strike a deal with the seller. :-) read more

Elizabeth Albeita, the seller's agent made the transaction very difficult. We were the homebuyers and I couldn't help but feel bad for the sellers for being stuck with such a bad sellers agent. She put us and the sellers thru the wringer and stressed everyone out with mal-informed decisions and unnecessary threats. First, she listed the property under-value. Then when it didn't sell she listed over-value. When we bid on the house for the asking price and the appraisal came in lower, she blatantly accused us (buyers) of playing her when we offered the appraisal value. Then, after being told that we would be a day late on closing almost 5 days in advance, she threatened us with a breach of contract. At the same time, she told her clients (sellers) to show up on original closing day at the title office and made them drive 20 miles each way for nothing. She stood them up. Throughout the transaction, she sent a barrage of rude emails and texts of a threatening demeanor. I cannot stress how badly everyone was treated in this deal. I would not recommend Redfin to anyone and much less Elizabeth Albeita. The incentives for these people to do their job are frankly not there. If I had to do it all over again, I'd avoid any Redfin property. read more

Service? I had phone appointment scheduled with Red Fin 5 days ago and still no response from agent who was suppose to call me. This same agent was suppose to be the best. Nice way to show how good you really are. I would think 5 days behind is enough time to catch up with your busy schedule if that's the case at all. read more
